Australia got royally shafted. After 2 mins(or less) the very next shipping was 4-5 weeks. I mean how many did we have allocated. Started refreshing App 20 mins prior, literally had Black 256 in cart, selected in store pick up, 9-9:30 time, clicked confirm, App crashed, back on in 10 seconds and 4-5 weeks. SUX. 1st time I have never been able to get the new iPhone on launch day.
Has Australia had the same iPhone launch day as the US in the past? I can't recall with 100% certainty off the top of my head, but I'm thinking they did. What was ordering like in the past for the 6 or 7, a little smoother or about the same? I'm asking because if Australia got iPhones about a month after the US then 4-5 weeks is about the same. A month later. Maybe some instant orders are getting them sooner but in the whole scheme of things, 4-5 isn't horrible. With all the rumors and forum topics here like "What will you do if you don't get your phone until after Christmas?" I was thinking best case for me would be 2-3 weeks and worst case would be the end of year. Based on the limited amount of information I have right now, I'd guess the availability in the US was about the same as it was for the 6 or 7. Order quick to get launch day. Anything more than a couple minute delay could end up costing you.
