Honestly 5-6 weeks is not bad considering all the rumors of limited supply. My wife is waiting it out because of the guaranteed glitches and hardware problems. Would suck to spend almost $1500 and have the screen not working probably.

Holy crap. Was able to just get one through ATt. Silver 256 shipping next week. Black isn’t until December 15 so just went silver. Front colors are the same so who cares.

I’m starting to see a trend here, ‘constrained’ supply is translating as ‘scalpers delight’.

Gave in and ordered an X in silver via Carphone warehouse. They still estimate a delivery of Friday 3rd so if anyone in the UK is still looking for one sim free or on a contract you could look there. To make it very slightly less eyewatering expensive there is £50 Quidco available.

Isn't that for upgrades? SIM FREE handsets is only £10 in which case TopCashback is better at £20, unless you're signing up for a contract.

Pre - order from 08:01 in the UK they said - Lies - couldn’t get on the site until 08:14 - result 4 - 5 weeks. Fuming !

It is quite a strange launch! I was refreshing web site and app untill 08:08, also UK. Web site opened for me at 8 minutes past 8 and completed ordering 2 iPhone X. Store app was still off line even after I completed ordering. Delivery from 13/11 to 20/11.So much for the Store app being the best for ordering.

This is all part of the marketing to make it so hard to buy but all its doing is making ebay sell loads of them

So I was only able to get 2-3 weeks from Apple at 3:10am EST - but ATT has the silver 64gb in stock for November 3rd as of this morning - I ordered and it went through - now wondering if I should cancel my Apple order... How can ATT still have them in stock for Nov 3rd delivery? I wonder if I can keep both orders active until one starts to ship and then cancel the other...

Got 3 of them, 256gb space grey. Gotta land myself a nice profit, since i already got the 256gb gold 8.

I'm sitting here enjoying my iPhone 8 Plus without all the stress that those who pre-ordered the iPhone X now have.

Really, I don't see enough reasons to upgrade to the iPhone X, apart from the OLED screen and camera with dual-OIS + front cam with portrait mode. I don't even hate the notch or anything, but in terms of actual features there's just not much of a difference between the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. At least not enough to make me wanna pay an additional €240 (iPhone 8 Plus = €919, iPhone X = €1159) AND the risk that e.g. the OLED screen or Face ID might have issues AND wait for weeks to get it.

I'm holding out on this one. :)

Do you drive a beige Volvo by any chance?

You say there is no reason to upgrade but you are looking at that from the biased point of view of someone who just bought an iPhone 8 plus a few weeks ago. While I'm sure there will be some iPhone 8/8 plus owners who are buying iPhone X today, I suspect most are upgrading from older phones in which case the upgrade is much more compelling.

IMO, getting a higher res OLED screen and dual OIS are pretty big features but when you add in the rest of the iPhone X features, it's not too much of a stretch to go that extra €240 or whatever it is, especially when spread over 2 years. That's €10 a month or around 30 cents a day.

As for the "stress" you speak of, well I'm sure I'm not the only one who woke up 5 mins before launch, started and killed the Apple Store app for a few minutes then grabbed the preset 'favourite', hit Apple Pay and went back to sleep with a 3rd Nov delivery date. Not trying to troll those folks who didn't have such a smooth experience but for at least some of us upgraders, this is not a stressful experience, at least until the credit card bill comes in...

1800?

And no, you don’t need to make 200k/yr to afford 50 a month as long as you have even the most basic sense at managing money.
That's a blanket statement, $50 a month is not a lot if money in isolation, but you don't know what other bills people have to pay, rent, car, groceries, power, healthcare... $50 a month is a lot of money for a typical American family of 5 that live on a $50k annual income

iPhone X is a great phone apparently, but affordable it is not!

If I did in store pick up should my card had been charged already? So far I just got the "we're processing your order" email.

Guess the only concern I have is while I see my order in the history in the app I don't see it on the apple website even if I type in the order number.

edit: nevermind it just showed up on the website. Still wondering when I will get charged though.

Got my UK 256 silver X on 2/3 weeks, fairly happy with that.

I did have it on 3 November via the app but bloody billing address was wrong and by the time I fixed it, it had slipped.

Never mind!

Bugger! All planned out and then we have to time an emergency caesarian followed by pre-eclampsia right when pre-ordering opens! Completely forgot about it, now back to sanity and ordering over four hours late and I'm in the 5-6 weeks pile. Ah well, stuck with my 8 until nearer Christmas it looks like... such is life...

Planned to place 3 pre-orders (1 to keep - 2 to sell on, yeah I know..) but decided to back out - I'm just not feeling it.

Ok I'm interested to see how well the face ID unlock works, and.... well that's really about it.

People in general don't seem all that fussed on this - a couple of work colleagues who were also about to pre-order today also decided not to bother, and one of them is switching to a Note 8.

I'll need to upgrade sooner rather than later as the battery life on my current iphone is starting to wane. I kind of want to be excited about the X but... I'm just not!

Does anyone know if Apple states 2-3 weeks, if there's any chance of earlier delivery (under promises) or if Apple sticks to that?

Pretty sure I know the answer but wondering if anyone can verify, if you order for pickup at the Apple Store and purchased through a carrier installment plan that requires a trade-in (AT&T Next in my case), do you have to trade in your phone at the Apple Store when you pick your new phone, or can you walk out with both old phone and new phone and mail the old one to AT&T? AT&T sent me a shipping label through e-mail so I'm assuming it's the latter since Apple wouldn't want to deal with shipping to AT&T. Just looking for verification.
