Of course, I looked at my clock at 11:45PM. Closed my eyes and it was suddenly 4:30AM.

I was able to order the phone with a delivery date of December 1st. Well, I guess I don’t mind waiting a whole month... better than waiting until January / February just for an upgrade

Ha! Same thing happened to me during the preorders in September. Luckily, I was only ordering the Apple TV so I was able to still get it on launch day.

This time I went to bed and set my alarm along with programming my room lights to come on full blast at 2:30AM.

I don't trust myself to stay awake until 3AM anymore!

Man my friend paid $5k for two phones with AppleCare, shipping in 5 weeks. Crazy times.

Where are these people coming from with their $1,800 iPhones, and the $2,500 ones? If your friends bought iPhones at such prices, they clearly got them from the black market... If you buy directly from Apple, the most expensive one is $1,149 plus $199 Apple Care... if you assume a 10% tax on it (which many states pay a lot less than), add another $134.8 making it a total of $1,482.8... that for the most expensive iPhone in the market... still expensive, but far from those exaggerated prices...

I got 2 phones, 256gb one space grey for me and one silver for the wife..... I had the option to in-store pickup on 11/3 or delivery 11/10 - 11/17.... I don't want to be anywhere near an apple store on 11/3 so I went with the delivery, I rather wait a week or 2 than go to an apple store on that day.

FYI. Best Buy still has the 64GB version to you by Nov 7th (up from the 3rd early today). The 256GB version is Dec 15th though.

But then again, those buyers willing to fork out >100% premium over the retail price to be the first to own the X isn’t your typical buyers. Their fat wallets checked their priorities for them already. So I don’t think they have any issues. Their only issue is being too d*** rich and too d*** lazy or stupid to wake up early and do the preorders themselves. Lol

True. But they're still making it much harder for everyone else.

But again, morals don't seem to be widespread anymore, anyways

How did so many people snag many day one phones?!

Literally could not access the store until 12:10 and fought errors for another 2-4 trying to just check out.

Ended up at 2-3 weeks which was disappointing since I literally was there but also happy since, you know, could have not had anything!

Assuming he was in the United States, and the prices are in US dollars. I suspect his friend is in a different country and currency.

ditto! I was up waiting and web-site came up 3:08, then the app 3:10. I kept hitting refresh. So, Apple didn't come up at 12:01 pacific time. Apple has NEVER been up on time, period. !t's annoying, and yet lead-times started slipping 2-3 weeks the moment I had access.
Same thing for me...I was able to order a 64 Silver shipping Nov 3rd thru Verizon at 2:58 for my wife but the stupid apple store wouldn't open till 3:10 and then shipping times slipped to Nov 17.

I managed to get into the Apple Store app at exactly 3:01 and easily went through the checkout process since everything was saved and favorited. I also used Apple Pay. I got the 256GB Silver AT&T. I plan on keeping this phone for the full 2 years.

Did anyone else receive this message? I am still waiting on an email.

Got the 256 grey Verizon at Bestbuy at 3:05am est... nov 3.... their app worked a lot better than apples!

Hope you're a T-Mobile customer or you're going to be in for a disappointing time. T-Mobile phones come SIM locked to T-Mobile and they won't unlock them for you unless you've had it on the T-Mobile network for at least 40 days.

https://www.t-mobile.com/company/co...olicy/unlock-your-mobile-wireless-device.html

I've purchased tmobile iphones in the past for at&t without issue.
Edit - The description during checkout on apple's site is: "Unlocked iPhone with T-Mobile SIM"

Congrats to those who landed the Nov 3 date, heck..even a week of Nov 6-Nov 10 is most impressive. I fully admit I didn't expect to see this many posts who are getting it next Friday. As for the current 5-6 week wait (as of 9:45am), that's not THAT horrific..so it looks like many will still get it by Xmas Day.

My guess right now that 5-6 weeks could get bumped up to 3-4 weeks as time goes on.

With all the stories about shortages, supply, etc. I was expecting to see something like "Ships: 8–10 weeks or 10-12."

I’d say 5-6 weeks really isn’t that bad compared to what many had thought. I figured that it would be 3-4 months by now with all the hype about every one buying this phone.

This phone is stupidly expensive for what it is, that's why the demand is super low

You were lucky! I had the app open on both iPhone and iPad, simultaneously opening and closing them, and the iPad was the first up for me at 8:04. I checked out at 8:05 and got the same phone and delivery date as you - so I was lucky too! I was suprised that my app didn't load between 8:01 and 8:04 - must have made a good 40 attempts on both devices - I'd been practising all yesterday opening and closing simultaneously. Glad we got lucky!

Everyone hates scalpers, but its the height of hypocrisy to pull the morality card.

It's a £1k luxury item put together by people that earn peanuts in a country where vast swathes of the population live at or below the poverty line (and I mean real you might die from lack of food/water/shelter/the ***** poverty).

So I wonder, if there was a immorality pyramid, who would sit at the top:

1) The guy that scalps a few iPhones to get ahead in the game.
2) Everyone thats ahead in the game simply by virtue of geography of birth and don't give a second thought to dropping £1k on said phone, then moan guy (1) is an immoral **** because they have to wait a few weeks.

Those that live in glass houses should be wary of throwing their old iPhone in moral outrage :D

I'm not getting a X. In fact, I'm still on a 5S. I'm merely watching and thus really don't think I'm being hypocritical.

Preach!

I got 5 of them total through the 4 IUPs in my family and one unlocked through Verizon. All getting delivered 11/3. No one in my family wants a X so I'm going to sell them and pay for the one i won't be selling plus accessories. Don't hate @Ankaa because we're all rotten lol.

Congratulations, you must be very proud of yourself...

I waited for 3 hours on the ATT queue page for it only to crash several times before 3am. When the countdown finished it said I needed to wait another 7 minutes. Within that 7 minutes the apple store app worked like a charm and snagged a space grey 64gb to be delivered on launch day. ATT site crashed again. Never could get it up and going.
