iPhone X Pre-Orders Sell Out as Shipping Estimates Slip to 5-6 Weeks [Updated]

Okay, so this may sound like a stupid question, but if I ordered a phone through Verizon, is the shipping date entirely accurate? It says it will ship on November 3rd. I’ve always bought through Apple before, with no middle-man, and I was wondering that since Verizon is acting as a middle man, are they just guessing?

I got a reservation number. Just waiting for the email. I think Sprint’s website blew up because Apple couldn’t contact the site. Lol
2-3 weeks for me, that’s okay it gives me time to checkout the reviews. I suddenly want it last minute haha.
Verizon still has plenty, I ordered at 2:30 CST and still got a 11/3 for silver 64Gb. I'm pretty shocked to be honest, 7 Plus was definitely harder to get on launch day. Wonder what that means. Looking at Verizon now, they still show the silver 64 for 11/10...
I got two orders in. I'm going to sell whichever one arrives first on eBay along with my 7 Plus 256g Black and try to recover the cost of this phone.

Not comparable, the Pods are much cheaper than a new iPhone X. Of course they'll go for more on eBay, but the suggestion of 2-2.5x i believe is a little off. I can't see people paying £2000+ for the £999 base iPhone X.
Was ready to pull the trigger for launch day pick up but I hesitated shortly before Apple blocked launch day pick ups. I’ll just wait for the in-store inventory or even consider abandoning IUP for next year.
Well, I called T-Mobile a moment ago and still somehow ended up in the first batch. Delivery Friday! 64gb Space Grey.
I agree, I had same issue with my preapproved order. It was fast when I got on but it took me til 12-15 after the hour and I got the same date as you. Not impressed with the preorder experience either so much for the IUP program doing much for me. Well good news we are not going to wait til Christmas or next year and the dates may improve (they do sometimes). But I am not thrilled with this process and like standing in lines for the original Star Wars pictures and such years ago I have stopped doing that with movies. I may rethink staying in the IUP program it does not avoid much if any of this needless hassle and marketing that gets us all in a feeding frenzy almost as bad as Black Friday sales which I avoid like the plague. This may have soured on doing this again and if I like my X I might just keep for a few years and start buying phones a year after they are out and easy to get ;-)
Ordered through Verizon site - 256gb silver with 11/10 delivery date. They still showed both 64gb models for 11/3 delivery but I’m sure that will be changing soon.
yep. could not get in for the life of me. and then when I did after 10 minutes, it had already slipped to two weeks.. then it crashed so my order didn't go through.. so now... its 4-5 weeks. not happy camper
in the meantime LOL.. I was able to get in to Best Buy right away , and theoretically have one on order for opening day.. BUT at the higher Best Buy price, which I thought was going to lower, but didn't.. so I have to argue with them about that.. AND my credit card decided to do the fraud thing lol
and I was trying to get into AT&T who did this pre waiting thing.. and I thought I had scored one there, but their site would not take any of my three credit cards (I am paid off lol).. and ultimately bombed...
so yeah at this point not really sure whats coming in.. only confirmation emails though are Best Buy right away, and apple 4-5 weeks.

Drastically? 4-5 week wait is nothing for the X. Either production levels are good or demand isn't as strong as expected, just yesterday people were talking 2018. It's nowhere near that bad.

Did anyone else get "Your iPhone upgrade is Pending" message on the Apple Store App? I haven't got an email yet regarding the reservation to pickup at Apple Store on Nov. 3
Preordered 6 through at&ts site. Says they're due to be delivered by the third. We'll see if that happens. Otherwise got 3 preorders in with apples app and copied he reservation codes but haven't gotten emails yet. When does those go out? Said I'll get an email when it's time to finish my order...?
I had 11/3 delivery until it asked for my billing zip code and last four of SSN. I don't pay the phone bill (on a family plan) so I couldn't enter that without waking someone up.
If all the people who swore they'd never give Apple the last four digits of their SSN to use Apple Pay Cash would have the courage of their convictions, I could order this phone at my leisure tomorrow morning instead of waking up in the middle of the night for nothing! I blame them.
December is a travel month for me. I don't want to run the risk of having my new phone delivered to somewhere I'm not. I may check the local Apple Store sometime after launch day and see what the chances of getting one in November will be. Otherwise, I'll pick one up in January.
