My credit card declined using Apple Pay (fraud protection), but I got a confirmation email from Apple. I called the CC company and they lifted the block, but told me to have the merchant re-process the transaction. Will they try to re-run the charge when shipping or did this pre-order essentially not go through at all?
I had exactly the same thing, and was about to post the same question. Unfortunately can't call apple or use live chat to confirm an answer to this. Has it happened to anyone else in the past?

Alarm didn’t go off so overslept. 5-6 weeks estimate. But iPhone upgrade program was a breeze. Launched Apple Store app and the first screen I saw was an X complete your purchase screen. Less than a minute later my phone was ordered.

Okay, so this may sound like a stupid question, but if I ordered a phone through Verizon, is the shipping date entirely accurate? It says it will ship on November 3rd. I’ve always bought through Apple before, with no middle-man, and I was wondering that since Verizon is acting as a middle man, are they just guessing?
I’m in the same boat, I have a hard time trusting Verizon’s ship dates, the 256 gray stayed 11/3 for quite a while. I’m sure they were given a quota from Apple for how many they’ll be receiving if they haven’t already received them by now.

I got a "reservation number." I have no idea of that means I'll get a phone early or not.

Does anyone know how Apple's reservation system works?

I’ve waited in line for iPhones at Apple Stores in the past, and when you get in line, they assign you a reservation number and give you
I went with the least popular iphone 10 according to the poll here and got the silver 64gb. Even though I always go the biggest capacity phone available like I did for the iphone 7+ and 8+ I only use 16gb and no way was I going to risk waiting weeks or months to get one so ill just the silver 64gb on nov 3 and be happy.
You know, so did I. BUT... my only real color preference was to not have a white bezel on the screen, but that’s standard here. The back color doesn’t matter because I’ll have it in a case, but even if not, I like the White, too. Also, Apple Music, iCloud Photo Library, and iCloud Drive drastically reduce the need for space. My iPhone is 128 and I have a ton of apps, music, movies, and entire seasons of shows downloaded just to fill it up, but I could get away with 50gbs.

I ran into all sorts of problems. First off, I was asked last minute to order the iphone x for a family member as a gift, so I wasn’t able to prepare for the purchase according to the Macrumors article’s advice because the Apple store website, and therfore the Apple store app, was already down (I could be wrong, but I think it went down rather early this year). So at 12:00 I started refreshing the app on my phone (on LTE) and the site on my mac (on wifi) continuously, but neither loaded until 12:07. Then in the Apple store app, the only two options verizon verification gave me was to replace my number or add a new line. I wanted neither since this was supposed to replace my family member’s number. Regardless, I tried both options in combination with both my information and my family member’s information. Kept getting error messages using every combination. (Although for some reason I got further using my family member’s information.) Gave up and went to the website. Finally, the Verizon verification worked. Filled in all my billing and shipping information, and I kept getting errors trying to sign in with both my Apple ID and as guest. After several tries I was able to sign in as guest. By the time the order went through it was 12:23 and shipping slipped to 2-3 weeks. Honestly I don’t even remember if I used my number or my family member’s now, I tried so many things. I guess we can sort all that out when the phone eventually arrives. Too bad the gift is going to be so delayed. They really need to make it more straightforward to order as a gift for someone else.

Managed to get one (silver 256gb) for pick up on release in Australia. Deliveries had already blown out to 3 weeks within moments of the store being open to me.

Bring on next Friday.

In Germany delivery dates slipped to 2-3 weeks shortly after 9:06 am. So it took about 5 minutes until the first batch was sold out. At 9:21 all models still available for 2-3 weeks delivery, at 9:30 am: delivery estimate 4-5 weeks for all X models.

Obviously I was extremely lucky. Apple Store App on iPad came up for me at about 9:05:15 am (after frantically refreshing on three different devices). Rushed through from favourites to reloading/confirming address etc.
Finished order process at about 9:06 am. Got my silver 256 confirmed for delivery Nov 3.

Happy.

My 4s officially was laid to rest the other day. My app froze and the phone tried to restart but now stays on the Apple logo forever and doesn’t go beyond that. I got on and got the 256 silver with November 3rd shipping. I have entered 2017!!!
You and me buddy. Iphone 4 , not s just 4 :/ But straight to 10 on nov 3rd. :)

The wording is bad. You should’ve choose new line.

After I ordered my phone at three minutes after, I wanted to try the Apple site to see where times were, and it AND the app wouldn’t let me on until thirteen after, and this was on very good WiFi with compulsive refreshing.

someone said only 2 per household. I managed 3 (on accident) through the app. I woke up 30 minutes after (overslept) and panicked. quickly ordered two for t-mobile. Then realized my wife is still with ATT! It was too soon to change order, so i went back and placed a new order and it went through. Um... so I have a new ATT (t-mobile) with applecare if anyone wants

Despite a minor complication, my wife and I got 11/3 ship dates. Verizon went a few min early so I was done at 12:02.
We both went silver 256GB but at the time all were available.
I always have better luck through carriers direct (AT&T in the past, Verizon more recently) and it worked out that way again.
