2 x 256GB Space Grey ordered and confirmed for store pickup next Friday......shame they are both for work purchases :-( have to stay with my 8+ which is SHAMAZING

I got a "reservation number." I have no idea of that means I'll get a phone early or not.

Does anyone know how Apple's reservation system works?
No. I ordered via Vezizon and got both a Verizon order number and a reservation number which I assume is Apple?
After upgrading I went through the Apple App just to try and it said I have a pending reservation already.
It seems Apple confirms the central reservation and in my case the carrier has an order number for when they fill the order. It’s confusing.
Edit: In my case it’s a “preorder numbe” so maybe it’s different. IDK

I'm starting to think the whole supply constraint was complete BS and just marketing hype. Many people made it seem like you werent gonna get the phone til 2018 if you didnt order within 5 minutes... The shipping dates seems pretty standard for a big iphone launch to me..

I’ve been waiting in the virtual “line” on sprints website since launch.. 2 hours. WTH is going on!? I’ve also was on hold on the phone for an hour and then the call was dropped. thanks sprint

MyAT&T app is still showing phones (256gb silver) available for nov 3 delivery ... as of 5am eastern

Not exactly sure how to interpret it, but you could choose pick up for any of the colors and sizes for both Verizon and Sprint in store on November 3 for about 45 minutes after launch of preorders. Was annoying to sit and look at the screen with that date for almost an hour and not be able to take advantage because you have to enter in a Verizon/Sprint phone number, SSN, etc. even if paying for the phone outright. I guess Verizon and Sprint just aren't very popular. Ah well, got 2 coming in 11/10. Getting the iPhone a week early isn't worth being with Sprint or Verizon.

Pre-order supplies of the new iPhone X are now largely sold out, with the new iPhone models displaying shipping estimates well beyond the November 3 launch date. All models from all carriers at the moment list shipping estimates of five to six weeks in the United States, although some Sprint models can still be ordered for November 3 in-store pickup depending on the store. Other countries have similarly delayed shipping estimates.

Ahead of iPhone X pre-orders, rumors suggested supplies would be heavily constrained due to ongoing production issues with everything from the TrueDepth camera module to the flexible printed circuit board for the device's antenna.

With pre-order supplies of the iPhone X exhausted, some customers could be waiting for months to get their hands on one of Apple's new devices. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will not reach supply/demand balance for the iPhone X until well into the new year.

Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone X at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 27, and it took just minutes for shipping estimates to start slipping. Shipping times are likely to get longer over the course of the next few hours as pre-orders continue to trickle in.

Customers who are hoping to get an iPhone X on launch day but weren't able to get a pre-order in early enough can try their luck waiting in line for a new device on launch day, Friday November 3.

Customers who were able to place an early iPhone X pre-order will begin receiving their devices starting next week.

So, over slept jumped on at&t and still got November 3rd delivery date at basically 4 am. AT&T is either lying, demand is super low, or there are more units made than expected. Either way, I will be happy with my purchase!

My credit card declined using Apple Pay (fraud protection), but I got a confirmation email from Apple. I called the CC company and they lifted the block, but told me to have the merchant re-process the transaction. Will they try to re-run the charge when shipping or did this pre-order essentially not go through at all?
It did not go through I’m sorry to tell you

Got my 64gb in grey here in Dubai for delivery on Nov 5, store pick up appeared to go fast and shipping now at 5-6 weeks. Resellers already advertising them for near double! I have 2 silver 64gb on order for delivery in 10 days or so that I will resell. Near double sounds good to me!

So how do today's pre-order delivery dates look apart from launch day.
Is it like every year or there is much delay?

Not comparable, the Pods are much cheaper than a new iPhone X. Of course they'll go for more on eBay, but the suggestion of 2-2.5x i believe is a little off. I can't see people paying £2000+ for the £999 base iPhone X.

Then perhaps the demand in your country is low.The going price for iphone X on day 1 , scalper selling at double the original price at the minimum in Asia here.

I decided to use the Apple store app and had my wife in the US ordering hers and me in Europe on business. Wouldn’t load until about 12:20 for both of us. She ended up with an email saying that one is reserved, but they couldn’t reach her provider (ATT). I got error after error at each stage and ended up with 4 to 5 weeks despite trying to order immediately.

I don’t know when my wife’s will arrive since we have to wait for a separate email to complete her order. Maybe she can get hers on the 3rd.

If Tim Cook is such a supply chain wizard, why has he screwed up the final step in the chain so bad every year. I know it’s hard, but this is BS. When someone goes to all the trouble to try to order as soon as possible and can’t do it, you have failed. Limited supply is one thing, failing systems and processes is another.

This may be the final straw for me. As much as I hate Android I can’t keep supporting this company’s repeated incompetence in both services and products. Especially when I’m paying a premium for their incompetence. And I use windows on my game machine and it’s really not that bad and maybe I can enjoy getting a machine that is actually powerful and modern and not just pretty.

I personally don't think it's as bad as some were expecting. Initially, there were some reports that with under three minutes, the iPhone X would be shipping mid January. But now that it slipped 5 to 6 weeks, that's still not necessarily unreasonable, assuming that some of those orders could be fulfilled early.

Ordered mine via the website. Both my iOS devices - iPad and iPhone were not opening the store. Dived into my mac and got an order through and email him 08:05. Payment has left my debit card.
Only thing is that it doesn’t seem to be showing on the my orders page on Apple.com. I assume this is just a server issue or whatever they are doing to push resources to the order system and it will eventually appear.

Looked like 5/6 weeks delivery but 08:12 here in the UK.

Suprised how smooth it went.

I also expected shipping to slip to 2018 after 30 mins or so the way the press banged on about supply problems!

Was ready to order but neither App or website would work for 12 minutes.. Anyone else have that problem?

I'll just wait until next model now. Apple Fail.
lol@people losing their minds because their newly ordered phone, thats basically no different from their current phone, ships a week or two later than other people's. The insanity Apple has cultivated is really impressive.
it’s freaking hilarious!!

Considering the heavily constrained production I would say the availability is extremely good (six weeks many hours after preorders started). I bet demand was as high as they expected, which wouldn’t surprise me given the stupidly high price and the lack of features to justify it (edge to edge oled screen is nothing new in the smartphone world, and it’s sold at much lower prices elsewhere; faceID is not necessarily better than touchID and for some it will be worse).

Don't feel too bad, the novelty will wear off soon as with everything ;)

Absolutely true. With each new iteration, after a couple days I realize I’m just staring at the same crap on the internet. Like Reddit and macrumors are somehow supposed to be magical with face ID

Maybe. Maybe not.

Upgrading from a 6+, I'd be getting a noticeably faster phone, better camera with with zoom, Live Photos, portrait mode, Portrait Lighting, 3D Touch, Animoji, the OLED screen, always on Siri, and of course, Face ID.

I've had the experience of buying tech where the novelty wore off quickly. In the 90s, I bought a car with an HUD, thinking that was a must-have feature, but the newness didn't last. I bought several pre-iPhone PDAs, that I became bored with after a few months. My Apple Pencil hasn't been out of the box after the first month or so.

Then again, I've had the opposite experience. I bought a hybrid car in 2000, and the novelty of not having to stop for gas as often was a lasting benefit. Having a car that unlocks for me when I touch the handle and starts with a push of a button is a novelty that still excites me after 15 years. The iPhone itself was a life-changing product for me. The novelty of using TouchID to log on to my phone (and now my MBP) hasn't worn off yet. I still get a thrill paying for groceries with my Apple Watch.

I don't always know ahead of time which tech is going to have a lasting novelty for me. If I did, I could have saved the thousands I spent on PDAs.

Good. They are still available in India for pre-order.
