This will for sure affect their bottom line in some fiscal quarter or another. Anyone who generally upgrades every 2 years, will now be waiting an extra 4 months or longer possibly, meaning their subsequent upgrade may be delayed as well.

I’m skeptical as well. Everybody’s getting the shakes based on the words of an analyst.
But that won’t stop some from trashing Apple and Cook. Sad.
Apparently Apple values it's stockholders more than it's customers since it seems the investors get the information and customers get diddly squat. Feelin' the love?
They have a shortage of OLED. If they did this they literally would be able to produce only a few million units. Probably no one would be able to get their hands on one

Honestly this is nonsense. People may as well get an 8 Plus this year and be satisfied. The 8 Plus has everything the X has minus OLED and faceID (which I’m not thrilled about.). The OLED is said to not be as good as what’s on Galaxy and Note devices either...
I might be being a little salty, but it’s absolutely ridiculous to have a phone that’s not even in mass production for a November release. This is close to the end of September for crying out loud...
I think the 8 Plus is where I’ll go and be happy ... if I actually upgrade this year or maybe an S8+ or Note? Idk a Pixel XL 2?

I remember when I was trying to convince myself not to get the X since my iPhone 7 Plus was working so well. Now I don’t even have to try anymore. With my phone working as well as it is PLUS iOS 11 making it feel like a brand new phone, I’m not even thinking about the X anymore. I’ll just wait until next year when the X2 or whatever it is is released.
Very observant, they are not 8.0 nor 8.0+ ... just simply 8 and 8+.
It should be obvious to anyone, but this isn’t about logistics, it’s about engineering and manufacturing.
Thing is, it seems like they really didn't put much effort into the 8/8+. Sure they are better at all the little things over the 7. But there is nothing that really makes you want to go out and get one unless you've got a 6 series phone. Even then as a 6S owner, I'm not overly interested.
I say it should be the other way. They should've release only the 8 / 8 Plus and release the X when production kinks / component supply has been worked out.
That’s where they are going to have a huge profit margin. It’s basically the design from 4 years ago with a few upgraded parts. I wouldn’t be surprised if their profit margin was about $500 on a $700 phone. They are absolutely cleaning up on those models.
So, I made up my mind. I'm going with an 8 plus. This is just insane! Further delays?? The average customer, even pre-ordering at midnight will be waiting until february to get their iPhone x. This is such a fail for Apple.
Customers will just be getting their iPhone x's when Apple is announcing iOS 12. Starting this late and having the demand as large as this for iPhone x, they'll be starting production for iPhone 11 before customers get their iPhone x.
