The iPhone X is the elusive white iPhone 4 all over again.

As long as stores get any, say 500 or 1000 per store I'm fine. I'll be waiting an hour before they open, very unlikely to be more than 50 people waiting before me.

Yes or yes Apple stores should get some phones, the stores are at the core of Apple. Apple is not an online retailer.

I don't know whether you are in the United States or not, so this may or may not apply to you. In the U.S., AT&T, T-mobile and Sprint will have their phones locked to their network even if you pay full price. AT&T will unlock a phone if you've paid it off. I don't know T-mobile's and Sprint's unlock policies.

I have read in multiple places that Verizon is required to leave its phones unlocked due to an agreement with the FCC for certain LTE spectrum.
What you said is true, but only applies to phones purchased through the carrier.

If you pay full price at an Apple Store or through Apple online store, the phone isn't carrier locked.

It's a separate issue however on IMEI whitelist. The VZW version won't show in Sprint's whitelist unless Apple specifically lists the phone that way. The AT&T version of the 6S wasn't in VZW whitelist even though it had the same CDMA radio that the VZW version did.

I haven't looked yet on how they're grouping the 8. I ordered the sim free so I don't have to care, I know it works on all carriers.

So whats the likely hood that this dude is FOS? Cuz, I'm getting a little tired of the word 'delay'.

For everyone who has some gripe about the iPhone X, in any way...don’t order it.
You’re welcome. I just saved you $1000.

No, you are not talking me out of getting one just so you can get one sooner!! Not happening! I will be the first person in line, even if I have to punch you in the face and stomp on Angela Ahrendts' toes, spilling her Starbucks!! Kapeche?! lol

I can already picture the BS marketing headline „iPhone X - fastest selling iPhone EVER. We got incredible demand! “

It would be a great time to short AAPL if you really believe what you say. I will wait for the record profits in the near future that will be announced.

Unlikely. I'd be planning to camp out a week beforehand if you want to pick one up on launch day. With constrained supply, scalpers will happily camp out days beforehand to make a quick $2000-4000 reselling it.

Can’t wait for the scalpers.

You do realize that Apple stores enable scalpers, right? They put away dozens of phones for scalpers, whom they know personally and sell them the phones while others wait outside. Ask any Apple retail employee on how they "treat" scalpers.

So Samsung flagship has been available since April and Apple’s struggling to release its flagship on November?

Apple has become the delays, struggling, low yields, ramping, etc company.

They should have skipped releasing the 8/8+ so they can put all of their efforts into the X. A lot of people seemed to skip the iPhone 8 and are waiting on the X.
That’s not how hardware or software works. Simply throwing more people at a problem isn’t a solution. Apple would’ve done this already if it was.

Apparently Apple values it's stockholders more than it's customers since it seems the investors get the information and customers get diddly squat. Feelin' the love?
The stockholders are happy when the customer is happy. No customer means no stockholder because there will be no company.

Keep dreaming. You’ll be behind 175 bums buying 4 x’s each who’ve been hired by Hong Kong exporters...
The X is going for $2000+ by Xmas eve...

Apple is going to get hammered by orders for the X and there will be a lot of people waiting for months for the new X to arrive, if I had to bet money on it right now. My guess is we'll only start to see availability open up mid to late February or maybe even March 2018, if they get better yields on the constrained components.
If my order got pushed as far as March, I’d cancel and wait another 6 months for the X v2.0

If it’s febuary then a lot of people are going to skip the X.
Sorry Apple but sales won’t be great in first quarter 2018.
I’ll wait for September at that point. No point in getting a phone that late for launch day upgrades... (unless they have a barely holding on phone).

I had more or less decided I would wait until next year for a replacement for my 6 plus. I didn't realize that next years iPhone would be this years delayed iPhone.

I had promised the wife a phone this year. She isn't really thrilled with the 8's. And she currently has an iPhone 5. Don't know what she will think about waiting until (probably) late first quarter to get a phone whose replacement is only 6 months away (technically).

I'm not buying this story. The flagship product from the biggest consumer electronics company on Earth is supposed to be landing in people's hands and store shelves in 6 weeks, but mass production hasn't begun yet and isn't expected to begin for another few weeks?

I doubt they would have announced a launch date at all if production wasn't already going. This isn't amateur hour. This isn't a kid rushing to get his book report done on time. This is a multi-billion dollar company that has been in this game for years.
Why not ready Friday ? The 10th anniversary ipx timeline snuck up on them ? Sounds like bad decisions and last minute changes.
