Yeah I’ve also spoken to a couple of reps who had no idea there’s a machine... odd

Depends on the store - some you can teach directly, some are a call center number. Even the numbers from the apple site.

I called back later in the evening and reached another call center rep. This rep said the store does have the install machine, but wasn’t sure if they had the ones that the machine installs. Is there a difference between the ones that the machine installs and the regular stock ones hanging on the wall? Machine install vs. manual install?

It’s the same product, but the one the machine does isn’t on the wall. It’s stored in boxes that are usually in the part of the store where they do accessory sales/new device activation. These aren’t hanging on the walls, and as far as product goes - same product but the plastic is different cuz it has mount guides for the machine, instead of the usual tabs you’d pull if you installed manually. Otherwise, same thing

Makes sense. I prefer the machine install ones because it’s a more effective install compared to manual. I’m headed to the Apple Store this morning and will let everyone know how it goes.

I had the Belkin InvisiGlass Ultra Screen protector installed with the machine at the Apple Store this morning. Lined up perfectly and no bubbles or dust. I don’t know why the rating and reviews are so bad on this one. It’s a great matte screen protector that serves its purpose.

i think its just considered overpriced. but yes, i agree. im happy with mine. its a bit more $ than the typical amazon one, but i think its worth it. diff strokes and all

I don't usually shop at Walmart, but they have this somewhat off brand screen protector for the iPhone X that is only $9.99. It is thin tempered glass, and feels very smooth like normal oleophobic coated glass. If you're like me, and are horrible at applying screen protectors, buy like 3 of them (that puts you at $30) in case you mess up. It is overall really easy to apply and the price can't be beat.

Updated iMOS 2.5D *almost full cover* I think this is better than imos 3D. This has adhesive in the notch. in theory, dust should not be able to penetrate in the proximity sensor.

Do a simple search on amazon and you can buy a 2-3 pack for under $10

Are there actual holes for the sensors, or is it glass? I had an Orzly screen protector that where the protector glass was covering the sensors and the proximity sensor was really flaky.

When did this come out?

It come out last week. I ordered in srsworks store. Ordered the 2.5D and this is what they sent me.

There are holes in the camera and other sensors except proximity sensor. No effect in functionality.

Sweet. Do you mind posting a close up picture of the sensor housing, no dust has gotten in? I’ll place an order if that’s the case, it’s been my favorite protector but I removed it for the icarez for now. I wonder if they have a v2 if the imos 3D

Please see attached. The holes pf the sensor has dust but not the proximity sensor.

iCarez red box arrived from Amazon US to mainland EU in like 4 working days (ordered thursday at noon and arrived next tuesday at noon), very fast, for those interested.

maybe this question has been asked already a gazillion times here (sorry!), but the screenprotector which can be applied by staff at the Apple Store, is that a full screen protector?
Do they like have different screen protectors which can be applied at the Apple Store, or just one?

tnx

Would anyone any first hand experience on the iCarez 2.5D and 3D glass protector? Amazon review don't look promising for the 3D which is a lot more expensive than the 2.5D one.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Read this whole thread it’s full of feedback on both.

I’ve ordered both, basically the 3D is better and covers a bit more of the screen... imo, but much harder to install without bubbles. I would recommend the 2.5 as you get two and they are much easier to put on and will work better with most cases.

Picked up the belkin glass protector from
Target, at $30 it’s the most expensive screen protector I’ve ever bought but compared to $10 amazon ones.. it’s totally worth the money. Night and day people!

Which $10 Amazon ones are you referring to?

I just received and installed the 2.5D iCarez glass on my iPhone X. 2 of them actually... I will say, I WISH they offered an install tray, this one is difficult to line up. The top sheet is frosted, so lining up the speaker hole is a challenge, and then dropping it straight is tough. Be prepared to lift up and try a few times to get it straight. ALSO, Bubbles are a struggle for a bit. You REALLY need to work them out. They are stubborn with this glass, but once you do manage to get them out, it's brilliant. It's a fantastic feel and clarity. It's almost like nothing is on. Be patient with the install, and you'll be happy.

I installed in a bathroom with the hot shower running, and still managed to get dust on the first attempt. After looking closely at the stickers for dust removal and their cleaning cloth, BEWARE, they have dirt on them out of the package. Paper specs on the sticker edges and the cloth. Just make sure you clear it all off before you start. The second one wasn't an issue.

OK iCarez 2.5D red box is awesome BUT I have to say application was stupid because the glass would be falling off the two-eared film, like, what? Maybe adhesive dried out or something.
I got lucky to manage to install it correctly any way, although I have 3 small bubbles in the lower left corner, not sure what to do about them. (I got 3 more spare iCarez, bought two 2-packs)

Oh, hard pressing the glass over the faceID super delicate low tolerance sensors was scary. Hope you don’t get bubbles there. I can see why the official apple blessed route is skipping that area altogether.
