I found the tray included with the 2.5D iCarez too big for the protector in all directions, so I'm not sure if I I have a defective product or if I'm missing something. The proctector should fit perfectly within the tray, and not able to move up/down and side-to-side.

My observations:

2-pack 2.5d without the tray is slightly smaller than the one that comes with the tray. So if you try to install the older version 2-pack (without tray) using the black guide, the glass will move around within the tray and won’t be a perfect install.

Both versions fit perfectly for me though.

SMH at all the crap you folks put up with for sketchy and unreliable glass protectors. I have been using an inexpensive Japanese PET film protector for a month now, still looks and works great, and it's a perfect fit. No interference with edge or bottom swiping, no scratches, good fingerprint resistance and no cracking.

Glass protectors are generally crap. It's no wonder Apple discoed the nightmare from Belkin.

Would you mind posting a link to the product?

You have the 3D version ~ not the 2.5D. The new version is only for 2.5D. Also, the proximity sensor does not look like that. It's much smaller. When did you bought this? and where? There is no new version for IMOS 3D. The new version is for IMOS 2.5D.

Thanks for this update. I had the old iMOS 2.5D with the notch cutouts. I'm now using the updated iMOS 2.5D screen protector as well. Fingers crossed, no dust particles in that sensor above the top speaker.

My only (potentially negative) comment is that I find the sizing of the updated 2.5D to be borderline case-unfriendly. The Apple leather case goes right to the very edges of the updated 2.5D screen protector. In fact, the bottom corners of the screen protector actually touch the leather case. I find this slightly concerning and so I'm using the Nomad Rough Leather Case instead.

BTW - this page is very helpful in comparing the various sizes of the iMOS screen protectors: http://www.imos.com.tw/ag.html

This page shows both the old and new versions of the 2.5D. You can see that the older version of the 2.5D is slightly smaller than the updated version, and is therefore more case friendly.

Yes. the size of the new imos 2.5D is bigger than the old 2.5D. I am using Moshi and it's ok with the updated version.

As of now, I still don't have dust in the proximity sensor ~ which is good. Hopefully it will stay like that.

I love the feel of the imos glass. it's buttery smooth ~ in fact i used it as well in my iPad Pro 10.5. I have imos 2.5D Corning Glass 2 for ipad pro 10.5

I bought the 3D from srs store about the day it's released on October but installed the protector yesterday so as I checked 3D one doesn't have any adhesive on the sensor. Also got an answer from srs and they say there is also updated 0.4 3D version

I just got another icarez 2.5 d the one that cost 7.95 on amazon. Icarez refuses to provide me their warranty service saying I f***ed up and it’s my fault for not following directions which clearly isnt the case. First install was awful I got bubbles again and small lint inside. I even watched their YouTube video and cleaned it with alcohol real good and sticky dust remover tape.

2nd install is slightly better, but a tiny spec of dust got in and there’s a small bubble, very small. I managed to push it away to the side using a credit card covered with the provided microfiber screen cleaner.

1 Good install and the other 3 were wasted and imperfect with dust bubbles. As soon as you take off the inside plastic of the icarez screen to apply, mofo is like a god damn dust static magnet drawing dust to it. No matter how good you clean the screen itself and remove lint/dust using the sticky tape, the screen protector picks up the dust prior to application.

I’m sure next year we will see much better screen protectors. But for now I’m satisfied with icarez.

I got the 2.5D iCarez in red box, paid AU$18 shipped with two pieces in the package.

Not too difficult to install and I love how it covers the entire screen including the notch – No more wiping dust and lint away every 15 mins which get stuck over the speaker/front camera.

No impact on Face ID etc and the oleophobic coating is smooth as!

One question though - Above the speaker cut out there a thin band of bubble that doesn’t seem to stick onto the phone. I push it down and it disappears briefly but comes back shortly after. Is this normal?

I've purchased and installed the 2D iCarez 2-pack red box as well, but after using it, I did not like the way the bottom edge was finished. To best describe, when I swiped up I kept getting the edge of my finger caught on the protector edge. This also was the case for the 2nd one that came with it after I installed it. I've been using the Apple Leather Case.
A friend purchased this same product, and he had the similar experience.
I decided to try their new 3D version red box with the install tray. It also comes as a 2 pack. Upon receiving it, I followed the instructions and watched the YouTube video as well. My personal experience with the install tray is that it fits the phone really snug. I started to feel this as I was placing it on the phone, and didn't use it for fear of scratching the finish as the tray is made of hard plastic, so I installed the protector without it. It took two tries, and imo, a perfect install. I've also not had the bubble problem that I've read on this thread with the white box version. The case goes on great, and the protector does not push up with the case on.

Are you saying white box icarez fits with Apple leather case? It wasn’t clear since you said red box earlier.

Do you think the imos 3D is compatible with most cases?

It’s so hard to install without getting dirt trapped. I had already installed these 4 times already icarez always came out with the most bubble. I tired your method with lint roller but it keeps introducing new dirt after rolling.
It just takes many practice to do it right, and most times, you still end up with a speck of dirt needing the lift / tape method to remove. I was lucky to install the pre-tool iclarez 3D on my wife and my iPhone Xs perfectly on the first try.

The problem is that after I lifted to clean the dirt it introduces more dirt to the screen. The screen protector is like a dust magnet. I eventually gave up, now I’m using the phone without it.

Does anyone know if the iCarez 3D works with an otterbox symmetry? It works completely fine with the Speck Presidio Grip, but I would rather get an otterbox. They were just sold out when I got my phone.

maybe this was already mentioned but does the iCarez have adhesive on the top back sensors?

If you’re having dust/lint issues, I would try the shower trick. I always do it now as it seems to really help.

Santa has surprised me with a totally unexpected iPhone X to replace my trusty (but old) iPhone 5. I really hope that this new iPhone will be with me as long as 5 did.

I have a doubt. I think that I am going to go with screen protector this time despite I went without with 3, 4 and 5.

Do you think that is better with the notch cut or without? I am a bit concerned about dust getting stuck in the holes of the protector. On the other hand I hate the look of the phone with a visible protector...

Is there any model that you can recommend me? I will use with a official or an Incipio slim case.

Thank you.

My Otterbox Symmetry arrived today and I can tell you that the iCarez 3D in the red box does indeed work with the Symmetry without pulling up the protector.

Warning: you have to have a perfect install for it to work because there is no space between the screen protector and the case which is exactly what I wanted. I didn’t want it to look like I have a protector on my screen. This looks seamless.
