Following up on my experience with requesting a Belkin Invisiglass Ultra replacement.

Earlier this week my iPhone X fell 3-times from 3-feet facedown onto a tiled floor within a few minutes (I kept on placing my phone precariously on a table *facepalm* ). iPhone X itself was fine, but later on I noticed my screen protector had a large crack in a one corner.

Called one of Belkin's customer service numbers at 11PM EST on Monday. Told whoever answered I wanted to make a warranty claim for a damaged screen protector. They asked for information on proof of purchase, and pictures of the damaged screen protector. Sent information through email. They didn't require a credit card on file at all. No cost for s&h of replacement as I've experienced with some other brands in the past. No need to ship the damaged screen protector back to Belkin as proof of purchase either.

Got the replacement Invisiglass Ultra in the mail today (so shipping took less than three days). Replacement was the complete retail version with plastic install tray, dust remover accessories, etc... same packaging as when I purchased it at the Apple Store.

Look, I agree with most of you guys and that the Invisiglass Ultra is way too experiences for what it is. I also think it's ridiculous that a bunch of people (including myself) have experienced cracking within a month or less of usage (even though I admittedly dropped the phone a few times). Other than being thinner than competitors it doesn't seem Corning's Accessory Glass 2 is all its cracked up to be...

Nonetheless I'm extremely satisfied with Belkin's speedy/easy process for warranty claims. Additionally still think the overall "feel" of the Invisiglass Ultra is above the quality of other glass screen protectors I've used in the past.... and of course most importantly I'm happy that my phone itself was not damaged... :)

I've installed iCarez red box may times. It's the worst screen protector in terms of showing bubbles. I literally installed two different brand screen protectors back to back and iCarez came out the worst. Orzly is also hard to install but zero bubbles. I know now it's not how clean the iphone screen but how the adhesive works differently on both screen protectors.
I don't like Orzly either because of this stupid cutout for light sensor and dirt accumulate and interfere with sensor in long term.

Just installed the iCarez 2.5D red box with no issues, went on perfect, no bubbles. Perfect fit with my Spigen Hybrid case.

Steer clear of Cupert Technologies and their protectors. I had to dispute a charge for the Cinder. Did not ship when it was supposed to 11/23, and the company never responded to emails or to my card company. I found many complaints online.

Is there a glass protector with the notch cut out without a black border but has more coverage than the typical glass protector?

Yes, much easier installation with the tray. iCarez also has a good customer support. Lifetime replacement policy of which you only pay $2.95 for shipping.

I also noticed that the set the comes with the tray is a bit bigger. The $7.95 2.5D version without the installation black guide, wiggles a bit when fitted on the tray.

I am really impressed by the IMOS SAS. It isn’t glass but plastic but it is so thin and smooth you can barely see it. Here is some pictures.

I just went into the Reno Apple Store because my Belkin glass protector cracked they installed last week. They said they’ve been discontinued in store and refunded my $40

Lol. At least you got your full refund. I would like to suggest for you to go with an iCarez 2.5D for $10 and call it a day.

If you don’t want to cover the camera and sensors, get Zagg

Both of the above mentioned have a lifetime replacement guarantee, $2.95 and $5.99 respectively.

How did it crack, did you hit something or dropped the phone?

I Installed icarez 2.5 d on my X. First install had a very tiny bubble I can’t get rid of. I attributed it to a small dust that landed before applying.

2nd install I tried to use the sticky tape to remove flyaway dust. but there is still a small bubble that I can’t get rid of.

I’ll just live with the two small bubbles for now. I might have to buy another icarez screen protector in the future. Installing was a pain coz I try to be perfect and align it without the Black border of the protector blocking the oled screen

What is the point of that black border in the icarez screen protector, I feel like it’s not necessary and makes lining it up difficult

In summary it wasn’t a perfect install coz of the tiny bubble. But I much order this icarez full coverage screen protector compared to ones with the notch cutout

Can anybody tell me how the 2.95 icarez warrant work?

What the?

My wife got the bell in glass protector and I was going to try and get one out in tomorrow.

Any reason why?

I just received my $2.95 warranty set. You would have to buy a set at full price from Amazon and send them an email that you want to avail the warranty to include the corresponding order numbers. It’s best to email them first and have them confirm what you intend to do. I received the refund minus $2.95 same day I received the glass protectors.

If I were you, purchase the one with the installation tray, much easier and perfect install each time. Also take your time to make sure that there isn’t any dust at all and use the provided sticky tape. Right before you lay the glass, make sure again that you don’t see any dust or lint. View from different angles if you have to. Lastly, be patient scrubbing away the bubbles. They all go away unless there is dust. I use a rubber squeegee.

Also, the black borders make it seem like you don’t have a screen protector on. Hope this helps.

That’s interesting, that makes sense why there is a black border then

Thanks. I went to the icarez website and emailed through their amazon marketplace messaging email account with my order number and requesting a warranty replacement. All I got in reply was a link on YouTube on how to install it properly and they told me to try re-installing the screen protector.

Needless to say after I remove it, putting it back on wasn’t the same. I knew that was gonna happen with even more bubbles and spec of dust attaching to the sticky inside of the screen. I plan to buy another $7.95 screen protector off icarez coz the one with the template is sold out until Christmas

You should receive a reply from a lady named Karen with the instructions I mentioned above.

Just a heads up, the one with the installation tray included is slightly bigger (compared to the 2.5D $7.95 version) which covers a bigger area but still case friendly. I am talking about the 2.5D with the guide that is $10 or so.

Hi All

Must admit failure on this! I found the perfect case/screen protector combination on my previous iPhone 7, but failed on the X.

On the 7 I loved my Power Support Air Jacket case, and the Cuper Cinder glass protector. The protector rounded and went right up to the edge of the case - seamless!

I’ve been trying since launch to fine a similar combo for the X, with no success.

I like thin black slightly grippy TPU cases, with side button cutouts. I have the Power Support one, but it creaks - they are working on a revised version.

As for protectors, I tried so many! They either crack on the corners, attract dust in between the protector and the case/over the top sensors, or are really poor quality! Also, I think some interfere with the operation of the face recognition.

Any advice appreciated! I’m in the UK, but should have access to many of the same products.

Cheers

A $6 Jetech Clear Case and iCarez 2.5d works perfectly for me. I have a bunch of cases to include the Apple saddle case but keep on going back to what’s mentioned above. I also have two sets of Zagg glass just in case for my fusion and other bumper cases. :)

I found the tray included with the 2.5D iCarez too big for the protector in all directions, so I'm not sure if I I have a defective product or if I'm missing something. The proctector should fit perfectly within the tray, and not able to move up/down and side-to-side.

SMH at all the crap you folks put up with for sketchy and unreliable glass protectors. I have been using an inexpensive Japanese PET film protector for a month now, still looks and works great, and it's a perfect fit. No interference with edge or bottom swiping, no scratches, good fingerprint resistance and no cracking.

Glass protectors are generally crap. It's no wonder Apple discoed the nightmare from Belkin.

Updated iMOS 2.5D *almost full cover* I think this is better than imos 3D. This has adhesive in the notch. in theory, dust should not be able to penetrate in the proximity sensor.

Thanks for this update. I had the old iMOS 2.5D with the notch cutouts. I'm now using the updated iMOS 2.5D screen protector as well. Fingers crossed, no dust particles in that sensor above the top speaker.

My only (potentially negative) comment is that I find the sizing of the updated 2.5D to be borderline case-unfriendly. The Apple leather case goes right to the very edges of the updated 2.5D screen protector. In fact, the bottom corners of the screen protector actually touch the leather case. I find this slightly concerning and so I'm using the Nomad Rough Leather Case instead.

BTW - this page is very helpful in comparing the various sizes of the iMOS screen protectors: http://www.imos.com.tw/ag.html

This page shows both the old and new versions of the 2.5D. You can see that the older version of the 2.5D is slightly smaller than the updated version, and is therefore more case friendly.
