I have a doubt. I think that I am going to go with screen protector this time despite I went without with 3, 4 and 5.

Do you think that is better with the notch cut or without? I am a bit concerned about dust getting stuck in the holes of the protector. On the other hand I hate the look of the phone with a visible protector...

Is there any model that you can recommend me? I will use with a official or an Incipio slim case.

I'm also looking for a nice option to use with a case and would appreciate the feedback as well.

What's the difference between 3d and 2.5d?

Are you guys using tempered glass on the back of the phone as well?

I made some corrections after looking af their site with fresher eyes. They really need a comparison chart. If you visit icarez website, there appear to be three current products for iPhone X
  • A 2.5D tempered glass protector that has a notch cut for the full sensor array. This looks the most case friendly to me.
  • A 2.5D version that has a black border and a smaller cutout
  • A fuller coverage? 3D version with black border that covers even more? Perhaps not as case friendly?
These all come with installation trays, but none of their installation videos show them using one. o_O Maybe the trays are new?

Based on recent posts, the icarez brand appears to be preferred, despite some issues like bubbles. Is it really the best option we have? Can someone please summarize all these icarez posts in to a definitive Pro and con list between the various icarez products and installation methods?

Much thanks!

Oh, and in response to Flaxh question about back protection: I won’t be using tempered glass on the back. I’m using a Speck Presidio case.

UPDATE: I ordered the case friendly version with notch cutout and no black edge around it, in a package that includes the installation tray. I will report back after installation.

A note about the iCarez. I ordered the 2.5d two pack w/ install tray and it came with both protectors shattered. I put in for a refund and went to order another set but they were out of stock so I ordered the 2.5d two pack without install tray. They look identical but they are actually different dimensions. The install tray version is about 0.5mm bigger so you can't use the tray to install the non tray version.
Bubbles post install were pressed out fairly easily.

Yea, but i dont mind. As long as the true depth camera is not blocked by anything and the proximity sensor will not have dust. I selected this tempered glass because of that.

How has your guy's iMOS been holding up?

I initially got bubbles too but it went away after a day by itself. Be patient.
Got bubbles from the i-Blason and it had a scratch on it when I opened it. I'll be returning it and getting the iCarez.

I love the look of the Moshi AirFoil. It seems almost edge to edge and leaves a cutout for the notch so there's going to be no dust trapped in the speaker cutout which you'll get with the i-Blason and iCarez.

Anyone got an airfoil and got any feedback? Reviews online are few and far between.

Only the iblason gets dust under the screen. Its not the speaker cut out you are talking about, thats part has been "cut out". ;-) The area you are referring to is the area above the speaker - thats the proximity sensor. For some reason, iblason doesn't put adhesive there which leaves air between the sensor and the protector. icarez does put adhesive, so theres no air space. see pics

I order the non-tray version and didn't align it properly. I was going to order the tray version and install the one i have left from the two pack and save the other two or give away. when you say they are bigger, in which dimension do you mean, width or hight?

I would think so, I have the white case 3D one and it’s a bit larger and harder to get perfect without bubbles but they’ve seemed to disappear after a couple days and some hard rubbing. Looks pretty much perfect now I use Apple cases and a Spigen Crystal Hybrid. I have the red box ones on order as well just in case.
yes

Are you going to try the 3D or 2.5D?
whats the difference between the 2.5D and 3D???

Thanks!

I got the updated imos in and im guessing my screen must be too rounded because half of the proximity sensor still shows as not being completely stuck down

Both height and width are larger by the same amount.

BTW what case is that in the pics?

What is the fullest coverage iCarez? I've seen reference to 2.5D and 3D, but on Amazon I can't find any 3D that doesn't mention 2.5D. Link would be great if someone can provide!

I just installed a dbrand full rear skin and would like to get as much wrap around coverage with a screen protector.

The one with fullest coverage doesn't say case friendly on the box or white box version. But now they started making all red box for 2-pack one.

So I installed the 2.5D tempered glass protector that has the notch cut-out.
iCarez [Tempered Glass + Tray Installation] Screen Protector for iPhone X 5.8 Inch (Case Friendly) Highest Quality Easy Install [ 2-Pack 0.33MM 9H 2.5D]

Installation was easy, but as with any of these dust can be a problem. I did the bathroom installation with the shower running and things went fine. The installation tray made it easy to get things lined up. I'm just glad they give you two protectors, because I ended up screwing up the first one. There were a couple of dust particles I wanted to get out, so I tried to use the dust removal tape. The entire protector came up and I somehow smudged the adhesive or got more dust in there that tape could remove. I decided to install the second protector and this time not be such a perfectionist about it. Yes I found a couple of pieces of dust again, but I let them be. My display will never be that clean anyway. There were a couple of bubbles. I was able to work one out pretty easily, and the other just disappeared on its own within an hour or two.

Overall I'm happy with the screen protector. I barely notice it, which is the point. There is some slight prism action happening at the edges, but I don't think it's enough to bother me. Perhaps that's another area where the full coverage protector is better. Everything works fine, including 3D Touch. The glass is clear and doesn't add a color cast of any kind. It does not interfere with my Speck Presidio case. What I'm wondering though, is if there will be issues with dust getting trapped between the case and the edge of the protector. I can see how the full coverage protectors might be better in that respect, but then again it's enough room that dust should be easy to wipe away. One thing I do like about this protector having a notch sized cutout: Not only does this remove any concerns about the protector affected selfie camera or sensor performance, but it also makes it so much easier for me to tell which end is up when I pull my iPhone out. Without the protector, and with no home button, I kept attempting to use my phone upside down.

I've been using screen protectors since the 4 and full screen since the 6. With the X the full screen protectors are the least noticable ever. So far for me the iCarez 2.5d has been perfect. I have a Spigen Liquid Air and the combo is excellent. The Spigen is a little thicker than I'm used to I have a Caudabe The Sheath on the way. Either way I love ow the X full screen protectors look (can't tell they are there).
I also like how the iCarez 2.5d have adhesive around the sensors so dust doesn't become an issue. I haven't had any issues with any of the sensors working correctly.
On a side note I wasn't a fan of the idea of face id before I got the X but now I'm convinced. Sooo much better than touch id.

Is a folio case good enough protection for the iPhone x screen from scratches? Or should I still get a glass screen protector too? Does that decrease screen responsiveness or quality?

Does anyone know if there are edge to edge screen protectors that have black trims that aren't the exact size of the iPhone X screen? It seems like with the black trims, any slight misalignment cuts off part of the screen.

I notice this with my Thanotech E2E glass screen protector and it annoys me so much that the screen protector is actually blocking part of my screen.

It's especially noticeable when using wallpapers like the Mysterious iPhone Wallpapers (the ones that just draw a thin colored outline of the screen -https://heyeased.weebly.com/x-style-wallpapers.html).

Those are interesting wallpaper I was actually looking for something like this to check the alignment of my screen protector. Mine looks pretty good except bottom got cut off but not by much.

Oh, this is SUCH a disappointment to read. I JUST purchased the pack so I can get the install try and use it with the other's I previously bought. They seriously make these slightly larger? I don't doubt you, at all, but my brain keeps telling me "No way this can be true..." so I KNOW I'm setting my self up for disappointment here... :(

Can also confirm that the screen protectors without the installation tray are smaller (so you can't use the tray for install).

If using the tray on the old protectors, couldn't you use it since the old one are smaller, to at least get it closer when lining up? I would think a smaller opening is better then none at all. This would at least get you in the ball park? Mine was delayed, Im assuming because of the east coast weather, and is supposed to be delivered on Tuesday.

It makes it harder to get a good Install. Once it drops in the tray it stays where it drops which most likely won’t be centered. If you then have to move it after taking the tray off then you might as well start without it.

I got a freak centered install without the tray (because they still haven’t shipped my broken tray order replacement).
