Hey everyone I just got my ipx what’s the best edge to edge screen protector right now?

Whats the difference from 2.5 to 3d? I have an apple leather but lately haven't had a case on at all

the video below explains the differences between the two. 3D is true edge to edge. If you're going to just be using Apple Leather Case or Silicone then the 3D will fit nicely and will not have issues with sides being raised. 2.5D will be best with all other cases as it doesn't get all the way to the edge of the screen allowing it to be more case friendly.

Damn that video was perfect. Went ahead and took my old protector off and ordered the 3D version. Hopefully its not real hard to put on. Hype.

I have to say, the arbalest iphone x screen protector is the absolute best you can get. Its practically invisible. While i did get a replacement that was messed up, i just got another set that is perfect. The thing about these compared to icarez is the black border is much better. It is slightly less shade of black (which blends better) and the black border is slightly thinner than the iphone border and is perfectly shaped. The icarez is probably the exact width, therefore resulting in the illusion that the screen protector is on top of the screen and there is a gap between protector and screen. Its almost like a 3d effect. also I noticed the borders on icarez are not perfectly rounded. I don't know if icarez updated their design since I got it late last year though.

Do you guys praising the arbelest prefer the 2.5d or wish it was 3d?

An arbalest minimalist style protector that’s 3d would be great

I wonder if this one is any good

iCarez 3D protector. Installed it Friday, phone fell in between my seat in my car and somehow cracked... I emailed them maybe I’ll get another one in the mail. Doesn’t seem like its much protection. Wasn’t like I dropped it hard or anything.

Copy/Pasting the below from another thread which may get locked...

Myself, I've gotten by with a film type for years, as I don't drop my phone often (or at all, iirc). The iPhone X gestures from the edge of the screen also made me stick with the thinner film type, as sliding my finger over a thicker glass protector edge would get annoying for me.

Ok yeah, you can get '2D / 3D' glass protectors that curve at the edges, which may be the best of both worlds, but they're still going to be thick, which means if you want an accompanying case with a front lip, the lip would need to be higher to cover the glass protector, which then means you're going to be holding a thicker case.

I'm all about minimalist, thin shields on my phone, for both the screen protector & case.

I've actually just applied a http://www.bestskinsever.com/iphone-x-skins screen now, after picking up my X today. :D

Are there any full screen meaning edge to edge screen protector without the black edges? I've tried a few and each and every single one of them were not properly designed. They'd either block the top corners or bottom corners due to the black edges. I simply do not understand the design choice behind this....

Here's my understanding of the black edges. Since the glass is curved and the screen protector covers to the edge of that curve, there will always be a gap between screen protector and screen at the edges no matter how minuscule. Tiny dust/lint gets trapped in that gap. The black borders are basically designed to hide that dust/lint/dirt build up on the edges. If it was clear, you would see that dust/lint/dirt and it would create halo of crap around the edges of the screen protector, thus looking really bad.

I can confirm the BestSkinsEver, Glossy, Case-Fit screen is a beauty of a protector for the X.

Smooth, clear & a nice fit when using with Apple's Silicone case.

The cutout for the notch is slightly smaller than the actual notch. This may be an early batch thing, but it's a non-issue anyway (unless you're a bit fussy with how it looks), as the usable screen section is covered anyway.

There is a small gap between the protector & case lip, but it's not a big deal for me. You could always take a chance on the non Case-Fit, but you may see some lifting if not from Apple's case, then perhaps another.

Any thoughts on what is currently the best case friendly glass screen protector that covers the whole front of the phone (including the notch area)? Wondering if there are any better alternative than the iCarez 2.5... I assume to Peel, Spigen, and other screen protector of a similar design are basically all the same, right? Any difference in finger feel/oleophobic covering between brands?

Arbalest 2.5D is generally preferred to iCarez for having a more seamless bezel overlay

Just seems like cheap quality...
They are a pretty good fit but same thing happens to me every couple weeks their fit is good but the strength of glass is very weak it will break from a simple drop from the car armrest to the ground. Exact same thing has happened to me multiple times. The 3D one is even more fragile. Wish there was something higher quality, the imos used to last me months back in the 6 series days but their fit has been off last few years.

Thanks for the recommendation! I ended up ordering the Arbalest screen protector and pairing it with a Totallee case.

Messed up with the installation of the first screen protector in the package, but was able to install the second one nearly perfectly. I was previously using the discontinued version of Belkin's iPhone X screen protector. Based on first impressions I'd say that the Belkin was probably a little thinner, had a smoother "feel", and had rounder/softer edges than the Arbalest, but overall I think the fact that the Arbalest covers the entire front (including the notch) gives it a more minimalistic look. It's exactly the type of look I was hoping to achieve when paired with a ultra-thin case.

By the way, the Arbalest probably had one of the most vague/frustrating installation processes I've experienced with a screen protector in a while. The backing covering the adhesive side of the screen protector was solid/rigid, and in the process of separating the two I found it necessary to force/bend the glass screen protector ever so slightly from the backing. Luckily this didn't result in any cracking or damage to the screen protector itself. It's possible there may have been an easier way to separate the backing from the screen protector, but the included instructions didn't go into any details, and there weren't any clearly identified directions on the screen protector itself for how to separate the two. Otherwise the installation went fairly smoothly.

Part of me is wondering if I could have gotten away with a true E2E 3D screen protector... but I've decided the versatility of sticking to 2.5 is that I can always switch to a more protective case without having to worry about screen protector compatibility.

Any whispers of a battery case for the X yet? The life on it is close but still not up to the 8+. I have needs, ya know?
