i've been using iMos 3D by Corning on my previous iphones (6plus, 6sPlus, 7Plus)
and i'm really pleased by their quality, durability and the extra touch ID ring is a nice touch.
but on the X i hate them , i bought the 3D version and the dust always get stuck on the notch.
so i tried several other brands and here's my thought:

-iCarez 2.5 D
overall good bang for the buck. Installation was easy, fit is ok, doesnt cover all the way to the sides, but not too bad.
the only thing i would complaint is the oleophobic coating or the lack of it.
at first , it was ok, smooth , but not super smooth like the iMos. but after several weeks, it becomes fingerprint magnet and my fingers doesnt slide as easy as it should be.
and lot's of dust accumulated on the edges because of the design.

so i tried the
-whitestone
this is quite expensive, the installation is not that easy, fit is about the same as the iCarez (sideways) but of course the notch is not covered on the whitestone.
i just installed it about 3 weeks ago and so far the oleophobic coating is very very good, about the same as my previous iMos, super smooth and minimal fingerprint .
here comes the bad thing, This glass is installed using liquid glue that solidify to became a Gel like substance when you exposed it to the UV light. the good thing is that they provide you with the installation tray and the UV light it self.
and somehow i think the glue is "clearer that those normal glue on your typical tempered glass making the whitestone seems to be a little bit clearer. I don't know wheter its because i pay a lot of money for it so my mind is playing trick on me or not. but i really feel that this whitestone is the clearest tempered glass i've ever use.
but the bad thing is the glue that they use when you finish installing, become a gel like substance, so on the edges, the glue is easy to get chipped off. on normal tempered glass the glue is very very thin, and there's no chance that your firger nail or cleaning cloth can touch them.
on the whitestone, the glue is thicker than normal
so when you want to clean your phone, normaly you would run your finger covered with a cloth on the sides of the screen right ?
you can accidentally touch the glue
it rubbed off like an eraser
in the end the edges shows "transparent spots" where the gel has come off from the spot.
it's annoying.
and also when you tried a case, becarefull, on normal tempered glass, if the case does not match to the tampered glass, the tampered glass will "lift off" on the edges right ?
but on normal tempered glass, you can easily press the glass back to the screen and everything is good.
on the whitestone, you can't once you "lift of " some of the edges , it wont stick anymore, instead it will leave a whitish mark showing the glue is not sticking anymore.
and 1 more thing i dont like how the notch is not covered in this tempered glass.

anyway Imos is launching their latest 3D full cover for iphone X
that cover the notch and this time they promise that dust will not acumulate on the notch.
here's the link.

i have on on order, and hopefully it will be the last tempered glass on my iPhone X.

Not the lightning cable charged one from Apple.
True but there are some that are certified. I too would like an X Battery Case OEM but it isn't going to happen right now. Maybe after the release of the new set of phones, but I'm not holding my breath.

Please update with your impressions of the imos when you get it!

Just installed the iCarez 3D protector with the install tray. Screwed up my first one because the protector fit really tight in the alignment tray and got dust and lint swept underneath. Tried getting it out but failed. Second one went on perfect with no dust/lint. So far so good! Clarity and touch feel as normal as the screen itself and fits without lifting from my Apple leather case. No complaints! My brother didn’t even know I had a protector on the phone. No Face ID issues so fair either.

If you have any close-up photos of the edges, feel free to upload them thanks. :D

Just installed same screen protector surprisingly no bubbles except I got a few lint and dirt under glass but they don't produce any bubbles.

Got the Caudabe Lucid Clear in. Snapped the case on and the bottom right side of my sp lifted and won't go back down...doesn't bother me enough to take it off and get a new one on so will leave it but so sad :(

Update:
2 days later, the bubble from the lift on the bottom right corner is gone. Maybe it settled.

I've been using the iCarez 2.5D screen protector paired with an Apple Leather Case since I got my iPhone X in December, but I've had two issues with it. The first being the amount of dust that is collected on the sides of the protector and speaker grill, the second issue being how the black borders are "perfect" width giving the illusion that parts of the screen are cut off unless you're looking at it dead straight. Maybe my alignment wasn't perfect, but it was just enough to mildly annoy me.

I ordered a "Spigen 2PK Edge to Edge Screen Protector" from eBay for £2 but the quality was horrible, wouldn't stick properly at all and the black borders seemed to have some manufacturing defects. I can only assume it was a knock off.

So I'm on the quest again to look for a new screen protector.

Looking at the replies in this thread, the iCarez 3D seems to be the best bet if I don't want to get dust on the sides of the case with it's true edge to edge design. However, it still has the same border design as the 2.5D screen protector (at least from my observations, if someone has both and can compare the two, that'd be awesome, or if someone tells me I should get the one with the alignment tool so that it's a perfect fit...).

Second option seems to be Arbalest 2.5D screen protector, which doesn't have the issues of "sunken" borders as described by a user in this thread, but it's not edge to edge so dust will still be an issue...

@Ralfi suggested the BestSkinsEver is an excellent edge to edge protector, but I have no idea what the borders are like and whether or not it'll fit with the Apple cases.

Someone help. ;_;

ive used both arba and icarez.

the icarez is superior because it has better anti fingerprint coating. and my arba chipped on a small drop at the edge. Yes the bezels are smaller on arba.

Just installed my Spigen GlastR Slim HD. Awesome Screen protector. It was a little hard to center it than some that come with the plastic aligning tool, but I was able to get it after a few times lifting and lowering.

Hi guys. Based on the recommendations I bought the iCarez 3D protector. So far it’s great, but I have a question for other owners. The black rim at the top slightly covers the top of the sensors (I can see they’re no longer perfect circles). Is this normal or did I install it too low? Face ID and camera seem to work still.

Mine installed the same way but it doesn’t really bother me because I don’t think it makes my experience any worse at all.
[doublepost=1531189003][/doublepost]I cracked my iCarez 3D protector by ever so lightly hitting my phone screen against the edge of my desk today(guess it did its job). Thought I would give a different glass a go this time around so I went with a non e2e remembered glass. Got the 3 pack from Maxboost with the notch cutout for $10 and I actually like it. Super easy and clean install with no bubbles using provided alignment tray. Feels good and has some good oleophobic coating too. I rock my phone without a case most of the time so can’t really comment to lint buildup or anything like that. Would recommend for anyone looking for a non E2E glass though

What's the significance of black edge around the full coverage glass screen protectors? Syncwire on Amazon has a full coverage one without the black edges, so does that one have any disadvantages due to being 100% transparent.

Did anyone pick this one up & can give any reviews?

I've noticed prices come down in my neck of the woods, so may grab one later today...

Edit...& I did grab one, so here are my thoughts...

Application - great. Too easy.

Feel - great. My first glass screen, & it's much smoother than the film types I've used in the past.

Fingerprints - great. So far, fingerprints & grime have been repelled nicely.

Curved edges - great. Despite this screen being thicker than my film type screen, the curved edges are a blessing as gestures are much more comfortable now - it's as if there's nothing there, whereas the sharper edges on the film screen protector were always felt whenever swiping inward.

That's the good.

But the bad is unfortunately a biggie imo - the black edges are too wide. They encroach the screen along both the left & right sides. It may not bother some, but I noticed it straight away.

Not all Apps are impacted, but that matters little to me because I paid money for an edge to edge iPhone that has extra screen width than the phone it replaced & I don't like how a screen protector - by a reputable brand that's charging more than most - protrudes that screen.

I've mentioned it to Belkin, & am hoping v2.0 is in the works, that has either thinner black borders or is entirely clear sans black borders.

The best way I can show the edges encroaching the screen is via the red time stamp bubble within the YouTube App. I've placed it on the left/right edges. The shots from an angle show how the black edges are too wide, but the front on shots also show a few pixels cut off ...

Update...

The positives are starting to outweigh the negatives. It's so smooth, when pressing to activate 3D Touch, my finger glides slightly as there's zero friction. & the rounded edges make using the phone much better.

Only other negative is that due to the thickness, I can't place it face down within my case unless the surface is perfectly flat & free of debris because of the smaller clearance, but that's minor. The main issue is the slightly wider black edges, but I'm getting over that - helped that Belkin offered to send out a second case free of charge.

I'll be sticking with the Belkin for the time being.

Photos with case...

Hi all, new user here having just ordered an iPhone XS this morning.

After several hours of reading reviews & forum posts, and watching videos of dozens of screen protectors, cases, skins, etc. my head is spinning and I need some advice..

Here are my very basic needs:

1. Complete coverage of the front, sides, and back of the phone to prevent scratches and minor drops (nothing extreme)
2. Smooth transition from case to screen protector, without gaps/height differences (imagine running your finger over a bare phone - I'd like that kind of feel)

I care less about design/colors/aesthetics. Price is not a factor.

Can anyone recommend the best case/screen protection combo based on my needs? Thanks in advance!

I think what you're going to need is a skin type case (like an Orzly Slim or a number of others) with a 3D full screen protector. I had that combo on my 7 and it was very nice. It had a seemless transition between glass and case.
I opted to go for a slightly more protective case with my X (Caudabe The Sheath) because of the back glass.

This is exactly what I'm looking for as well (iPhone XS Max). The largest factor for me is that smooth transition from a case to glass (without obscuring the edge of the screen) OR a completely curved glass screen cover that goes all the way to the very edges. I basically need no impact protection, just scratch protection on the front....

Probably will end up using some kind of film or glass cover for the back as well, but I mainly don't want the front scratched by the rivet on jeans right near the pocket... and as hard as I try I can't always put my phone in with the screen facing OUT (vs facing toward my body) and my 7+ has very light micro scratches... paying $1500 for a phone now and with an amazing OLED screen, I really want to avoid that....

I wish Apple just offered a factory option for a second screen to be applied at the factory that is exactly the same size as the original screen... I would pay like $100 extra for that, just knowing that if it gets scratched I can take it to an Apple store and they can remove it and install a new one.

I’m hoping someone could chime in with their exact make/model of case & screen protector that satisfies the two simple points above.

Anyone?

How minor of drops? If you have a skin, as long as it covers the corners (that's important!) you will protect against scratches. depending on the drop, you may still get damage. the last couple of years i've used glass screen protectors. i've had to change them a couple of times during the year of owning the phone because of drops that caused cracks (but the screen itself was fine!)

for several years prior to last year i just used a skin and the worst thing that happed to my phone was the corner skin got messed up... the phone itself was fine!

if you are rougher on your phone you are going to want a thin case... unfortunately (or fortunately) there are a LOT of choices for thin cases...

as far as skins, bestskinsever (best skins ever) .com was a good company to deal with. stay away from slick wraps! they have a ton of sales, but then they claim they get busy and you may get the skin in a few months...

i've used phantonskinz in the past, too. great company but i switched from them strictly based on their corners (they may have changed... i haven't looked yet this year!
