iPod Touch and iOS Media Event Scheduled for Mid-August?

Sure i can get a classic, but i like the touch. I can keep my media on my iPad, or just install applications for the ipad.

No plans to buy an iPod at all, but it'd be interesting to see what apple has up their sleeves.
 
Actually an interesting thought, I have an iPhone 2g on T-Mobile, and now that it is basically cast away by Apple, and I barely use my phone for actual phone calls... maybe a WiMax/Cell iPod touch is the way to go...
 
Why August? Apple cannot even ship the white iPhone4 yet. I expect things to happen in September, like it has always been. The only thing I could think of to be happening in August would be iLife+iWork 2011 and maybe refreshed MBA to catch some students going back to school.

Yes, because the Apple TV was a "hobby project". If they were to introduce the new Apple TV they would obviously want to make it very clear that it is a new product. With the former Apple TV it made sense, since it was kind of "put the media you have on your iPod in your TV". With the rumored new one, it would not make sense.
 
Wel Id be most surprised if this rumour is true ... the Education Store "get a free iPod Touch afore September 7th Offer" would certainly benefit those who wait for the new 'un.... and this would leave Apple with old iPod Touches ... I dunno .. I reckon it will be post Sept 7th personally ... like wot they always do .. for exactly THAT reason ...:rolleyes:
 
I'd be mighty tempted if they release a 128gb iPod touch with a "retina" display at least 1 camera.
 
I wonder what the odds are of seeing a new iPad with camera(s) this soon and support for FaceTime? Seems way too soon, but then again, I'd be surprised if Apple holds an event just for the iPod touch.

I think the odds are better than 50% but it will be a new model of iPad with a smaller screen NOT the model introduced in April. I don't expect it to be announced in August (per the rumor) as that will be the iPod show. I'm expecting another show in September/October for the iPads from now on. If you think Apple has only the iPod Touch to bring out in August then you haven't been paying attention.

i know - the future Apple TV interests me more right now but i am glad to see other apple products evolving as well. we will probably get the apple tv update later this year...hopefully.
 
iPad will gets its up date in the fall so I assume Apple will take the opportunity to showcase the new features for this, as well as iPods.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next iPods ( nano, classic ) run IOS even if its under the hood, invisible to the user.

I am in the same boat. Recently picked up my first Mac (MBP) and would like to further diversify Apple within my home. In the process of buying my first house so the release of the new Apple TV would be timed perfectly for me to explore that area of integration. The possibilities of what can be done with the new ATV are endless so it should be interesting to see how it all plays out.
 
A retina in a touch would be amazing for gaming, movies, etc., isn't Apple marketing the touch as a portable game console?
 
since there was no 64GB iphone4 im not getting my hopes up for 128GB ipod touch. I also hope apple keep the classic for another year.
 
Here are some other things that i think will come along with the annual ipod refresh



1. iPad OS4 software will be released
2. Information on the white iPhone
3. Additional information of reception issues
4. New Macbook Air
