Which carrier is offering you a discounted price on the iPhone X as an "upgrade to your contract" and what is that discounted price?

I tried getting a discounted rate for an iPhone 8 yesterday from AT&T as a 12 year customer with an iPhone 6 that's out of contract and they told me they are offering no discounts whatsoever.

I'm in the UK, my carrier is EE. I'm currently on a contract at £55 per month with my iPhone 7 and with the iPhone X they've shown us previews for the iPhone X 64gb at £72.99 a month with £100 upfront for the device or £77.99 a month, £50 upfront an £82.99 a month no upfront cost. These prices include all the unlimited calls and texts to any network etc plus 4G data. And yearly phone upgrades. Oh and 6 months free Apple music.

But these are just previews no discounts as they're not talking until Oct 27th. Thats when you call and use your loyalty as a bargaining chip did the same thing last year with the iPhone 7.

so i don't mind paying a lil more per month for a £1000 phone since i aint buying it outright and im already paying £55 per month for my crappy iPhone 7 lool

You can pay monthly with 0% apr so it’s easier to afford for those of us that can’t drop the full amount at one time........

Why do you care what others spend on their phone? You are not paying for it! Are you just trying to show you can count and add sales tax, or are you justifying to yourself that it's OK to not buy the iPhone X?

$1500 is not really a lot of money though. I don't get the upset with so many people on the price.
My reason for starting this thread was to point out the REAL Cost of the X phone... Its touted as a 1000.00 phone but in reality it will cost most people 1300 to 1500 for a PHONE... Personally I dont think ANY phone should cost more that 800 bucks... including tax.... Intereatingto see when a phone costs 3 grand... Its comming AND.... people will buy it...

Americans don't get to bitch about the pricing of Apple products - the rest of the world always gets to pay more due to Apple being creative with their exchange rate.

My Series 0 Apple Watch (42mm Space Black with link band) with Apple Care+ was over $1600.
My 32GB iPhone 6s with Apple Care+ was over $1400.

Canadian $ of course.

I'm waiting for someone from this side of the border to pick up a cellular S3 Watch to see if they are in fact locked to country (ie have the MCC hard coded in the eSIM). I call BS, but we'll see. :)

Why do you people need 1/4 TB of data storage on a mobile device? Have you no internet for streaming/downloading/backup?

Ever heard of the cloud?
Some people have large video, music and app. libraries. Not every place one would go has public wifi or decent LTE data signal...

I’m so stuck between the 64 and the 256. I think I’ll end up with the 64. I’ll just be so bummed if I run out of space

If I were in the market for the iPhone X, I would definitely get the 256GB model. But that's all that I would spend. $1,150, all-in. I get an additional 2 years of warranty through my credit card for a total of 3 years. I buy in Delaware which is sales tax free.
I live in New Jersey but I'm five miles from Delaware where I buy my Apple products. :D

Why does it matter if a 3K phone comes and if people buy it. People have different incomes and financial priorities.

If preorders were right away I would have already paid up. But now that they keynote hype has dissipated then I'm trying to rationally consider what I am looking for in a phone. And surprisingly, the iPhone 8+ is the one that fulfills BOTH "Needs" and "Wants".

Many of us justify phone purchases by claiming the new one is "Future Proof". But this year then the newest phone is likely to be the one most in need of some major hardware refinement so waiting a generation makes sense.

I was too with my 8+ but ended up with 64GB. It is more than enough still. 32GB....not so much. 256GB is for mediaphiles and people who have to have EVERYTHING on their device.

I was too. That’s why I got the 256 iPhone 7 plus. But I started using iCloud sync for photos, which was taking up the largest chunk of memory. I’m glad to say that it is working perfectly for my needs and it has freed up so much space. So I think I’ll opt for 64 this time with the X. Perhaps that will also mean I get my hands on the iPhone much sooner.

You can’t believe anyone would want a 64GB phone? Lol I have a 64GB 8+ with EVERYTHING I use installed.....I have 52 GB of storage available? Why would I spend the extra $200 for the 256GB 8+ or basically DOUBLE the cost for a 256GB X? Just because your usage is different does not mean 64GB is not adequate. Just last year people were griping that there was no 64GB option since it was the “perfect” amount. No one is ever satisfied are they?
Yeah, I don't get it either. I got a 256 GB phone, but that was mostly because I moved to part of Alaska that has very low data caps so I can't just stream everything. If I lived somewhere where I had LTE and unlimited home internet I'd still be happy with 16GB.

This exactly for myself. As someone who buys almost each new flagship every year including each new apple device. I have decided go skip the X. For me it's not about price so much as hardware. I want to see others reviews on this and what improvement apple makes next year. I just bought the Note 8 and essential phone and the essential phone IMO was a disaster. Buggy. Screen not all that great. Camera sucks. Company is almost non existent. I am excited though for those of you who do but the X. Can't wait to see real life reviews of the device.

The real cost is close to 1500. I can't believe anyone really wants a 64gb phone, so the only alternative is 256... which brings you TO 1,150.00.... And then for the person that can afford that amount of money, you throw in AppleCare... for the minor cost of 200.00.. which brings you to 1350.00... THEN don't forget sales tax of 8%... which brings us to 1450... let's just say 1500.... IS THAT WHAT YOUR NEXT PHONE WILL COST?

And don't forget the new wireless charger(s) your going to get... One for the living room and of course the bedroom... AND how about a 29 watt charger (for really fast charging). with the additional cable you will need for the charger... ANOTHER 200.00 BUCKS....
I'm getting mine in Portland, Oregon where it's tax-free. I'm in Southern California where tax is 7.75. I don't plan on purchasing Apple Care. I'm hoping I can resolve any issues within that 1 year warranty period. I've purchase Apple Care in the past and never used it.

I forgot to mention, we get 6% off on Apple products, so I'm hoping to get the X at little under $1150. I need to wait for the Sim-Free version though.

It’s $1600 without anything in my country. I really want OLED, but I remembered i’ve dropped my 7 two times last month (it’s fine) and that is too much a price tag to drop. The 8 is just the same as the 7, if it hadn’t got OIS I would still have a 6. I decided to wait for the next one, maybe more will do the same and Apple will be forced to lower the price tag (one can hope). Knowing Apple, a screen replacement is probably half the price of an 8.
