Depends. If the iPhone does turn out like the most recent leaks - I will probably stay with my iPhone 5S. Main reason being, I don't want a 4.7" phone which is nearly the same size as a 5" HTC One M8. Secondly, I don't like the implementation of the antenna-bands, as it looks awfully cheap and very unlike Apple.

If those leaks are false, and Apple comes out with something of typical Apple-fashion, which I think/hope is the more likely scenario - I will be first in line for a 4.7" iPhone.

Here's what I hope we will be seeing, although perhaps a tiny bit thicker:

Is anyone not excited about the 6?

People that have the current iPhone really shouldn't comment on whether they are excited about replacing their 6-month old phone. Or they should be ignored. Keep your phone, get next year's one. Normal people don't upgrade every year, so how about you just ignore the 6?

I might be in a minority, but I really appreciated the original size of the phone. Being able to use it one-handed, was a huge benefit for me. I really don't like the size of the 5, and making it bigger is even worse in my opinion ... and I have large hands. The phone should be the size of a phone, and a tablet the size of a tablet. A watch the size of a watch would be nice. I don't need a hybrid phablet!
If you can't use the 5 one-handed, you either don't have large hands or do have tiny fingers.

Typical Apple fashion is not the render you posted, it's an upsized iPhone. They haven't really changed much on the front plate of iPhone since 2007 outside of the screen size/ratio, which is what most of the rumors indicate they will continue with.

I am waiting patiently for the iPhone 6. Despite knowing how bad of an investment it is, I am on Verizon's Edge program, and will use it to upgrade my 5s to the 6 as soon as I can, because well, I want to. There's just no way around it for me. :D I love the 5s, but even if the 6 was the exact same device internally with a 4.7" screen, I would still buy it. I use my phone as much or more than any other electronic device, or any other thing for that matter. Enjoying it for hours each day, so I don't mind paying to have the best experience possible, and based on my recent trial with the HTC One M8, I must have a bigger phone, only it sure as hell will not be running KitKat. #fanboy

OK, so how is that rendered front panel different from a 5S front panel, other than the change in screen-size to bezel-ratio? Other than the screen size (and edge-to-edge-screen), and the slight trim of top/bottom bezel, it's identical to the 5S lying next to me.

Sure, I don't see the 100 % edge-to-edge screen happening, or the exaggerated thinness, but Apple should really trim some bezel from the device, especially at the top and bottom.

This is just my opinion but I see a big difference between just taking the 5s and upsizing it by 30% (or whatever it is to get to a 4.7" screen), and adding a 4.7" screen while decreasing the bezels by 100% and decreasing the top and bottom bezels.

Would I prefer if Apple came up with a way to keep Touch ID but removed the home button completely? Yes. Do I ever expect that? No.

I always upgrade every year but my excitement decreases each year for Apple. I've only owned one iPhone (5s) and the wow factor faded pretty quick after 2 weeks of ownership. The problem was not the hardware; it was the OS. Felt like I was limited in what I could do especially if you compare it to Android. So while I know the iPhone 6 hardware will be fine I just can't get pass the idea of owning a iOS device.
Don't get me wrong; I'm excited because I'm a hardware geek but I'm not excited about owning one. Just don't think I could live without sideloading apps without hacking my phone plus many other reasons too many to list here.
I visit here because I'm a gadget geek; not as a blind fanboi.

I'm a geek too. I build and fix all types of hardware. I use windows, Linux and OSX, and use android and ios. I own computers old as 1979 to present. I run multiple homemade servers and produce music with top levels daws.

But I still like iOS for daily use. I don't need to be able to fix bugs on one of my servers from my phone. I don't need to "hack" my phone, whatever that umbrella term means.

I use my phone for calls, texts, video chat, internet browsing, portable music playing, light gaming, taking photos an videos and all those normal people things that non geeks do. Computers are for real "geeky" work. Doing anything serious on a phone is almost always pointless. A computer will nearly always do the job far far more comfortably and faster.

I am quite aware of what iOS is and isn't capable of and what samsung sony and LG parts are in iPhones. I don't buy apple products due to ignorance. I buy them because they do the simple things faster and with at less effort and unmatchable finesse. And macs perform complex tasks brilliantly too might I add.

Until the Galaxy S3, I never saw an android device capable of swiping between a menu without enormous stutter at about 8 FPS. That is poor quality rubbish that annoys me day to day, regardless of how much "hacking" I can do on such an open platform. I know that is no longer the case (on high end android models) especially since android 4.x+ but the fact that google thinks that level of tackiness is shippable turns me off right away. Years of marketing aside, Apple do put more effort into the little things than virtually any other company on earth. Or at least, they have done so from 1977-1985 and 1997- present. (Those 90's macs were some awful crap). But that is another argument.

Basically, saying android is for real geeks and ios is for ignorant and gullible fashionistas is not a justifiable statement. Mobiles are mobiles. Not pocket workstations. Dont needlessly insult professionals who use Apple products for doing real work.

Bravo, nicely said

Oh, I'm excited. How could you not be? The build-up, the reveal at the event and waiting in the queue is all part of the experience!

Even as a 5S owner, I am still excited of iPhone 6 because its slightly bigger screen will finally give me large enough keyboard to type (at least I hope so)!

The tiny buttons were bothering me since 2007...

Don't be ridiculous. I know a handful of people that upgrade their phone every year, iPhone or not. Ridiculing others by what you think is normal.

I am way excited about the 6! As long as it has a bigger screen! The 5s is the first phone I have skipped so I am totally ready to upgrade.

I have been very happy with my iPhone 5. It is running iOS 7 now flawlessly. As for the iPhone 6, I am looking forward to the new phone how ever it arrives.

Some of us aren't normal people. I used to go through 4-5 phones a year, basically all flagships and otherwise interesting phones that were released.

Now with the MS Surface launch, the iPhone 6 is getting more interesting again, since the Surface Pro 3 would be a real killer productivity tablet, thus reducing my need for something like the Galaxy Note. A 5.5" iPhone and the 12" Surface Pro would be a rather sweet setup.

I've still got my 4S, so pretty excited to get the latest and greatest, OP must think everyone upgrades everything every product cycle??

I sometimes buy a new phone every year, and sometime wait two years. It all depends how happy I am with my current phone. I've never liked my 11 month old i5 and can't wait to get a new one.

I have an iPad for my mobile productivity. I am fairly new to Apple products, but I like their products.

I've had my iPhone 5 since launch day in 2012 and am ready for an upgrade. I'm very sure it won't happen but I'd love fur apple to get back to June iPhone releases.

I'm super excited about the 6 coming from a 4 year old iPhone 4! I even started checking out Samsung Note 3, Galaxy S5, LG G2 but I must resist until the Autumn ;-)

Stay strong. Android and it's smartphones are crap ;)

No iPhone is THAT much of an improvement on the previous model. The 4 was a big jump over the 3GS and the 5 a big jump over the 4s, but if you have last year's model, this year's is never gonna be a whole new revolutionary experience. It's evolutionary steps now, as happens with all mature product lines (computers, cars, phones, etc).

Hmm? you say, the 4 was a big jump over the 3GS, the 5 a big jump over the 4s and afterwards that this year won't be a big jump?! It's the same big jump like the other two...

Yeah it will probably be similarly but this time. But my point is that even those jumps, while big, were still just evolutionary. So at this point, even the biggest leaps forward are nice but not transformative or "revolutionary."

There you are right. Most people don't get this and are dreaming about features that will never happen... That's the problem if a product reaches this point of it's cycle.
