New technology excites me.. Why are you here?

Not everyone has the compulsive need to be on the bleeding edge. Just because your jimmies get rustled by a new tech release, others are satisfied by what they have, and take interest in what's new when it's time to upgrade.

Swipe the screen to the left, no need to reach for the top corner in most screens.

I personally love this. I hope it remains in iOS indefinitely. It's the easy and fluid navigation that is one of my top features in iOS.

I'm excited. It's a redesign, supposed better screen, and thinner phone. All of those are nice additions. Also the larger screen for watching video, emailing, surfing the web.....plus the addition of VoLTE......without being as massive as a phablet. Sounds like a lot to be excited about to me. And we don't even know all of the features and specs yet...which could make it even better. However, bu just what we know so far....it's a lot to be excited about. Take my money, Apple!!!! Haha

It's not really about hardware for me. I was sitting in my hotel room glanced over to my naked iPhone and just was in complete ah oh the device. This is one most beautifuliest phones ever made. Hands down!

So what can apple make the phone do? What is the next step? It's not hardware anymore..it's software. What tools and NOT GAMING TOOLS is Apple going to add to ios 8..are they going to finally overhaul how ios works? They may open siri up to developers. But we need more. We need more than Touch ID expansion. We need customization. Maybe let us change bubble colors in messaging. Add contact photo in messaging as well. We need to b able to see or arrange home screens differently. I honestly feel that ios 7 is becoming cluttered between control center, notification center, and the search feature.. Or maybe it's to gesture based..

The big screen, and 2 choices for screen size is going to be huge for the iPhone. That's the dominant edge that Android sets currently have on Apple. Once that's taken away, there's going to be less incentive to go with Android, and the choice will be easy for people that were on the fence. And if they try to one up them and make a 6" screen, well then it's pretty much a tablet at that point.

My "jimmies" get rustled by all technology, not just new tech releases. To say you aren't excited by a new hardware release from a huge tech company is confusing to me.. Especially on a forum frequented by tech enthusiasts.

I took a deep breath this morning and realized - why do I even care about getting the 6?

If you really think about it and take into consideration the power of the current 5S, the only noticeable improvement will be the bigger screen, and even that you will get used to within a month.

The display will be better, but in comparison to the current Retina on the 5S it's not going to be groundbreaking. Speed differences will be barely noticeable. The camera on the 5S is fine the way it is. Same old operating system and feel will be there still.

For the first time I'm not excited about the new iPhone - I can't shake of this feeling of "same old, same old". Anyone else?
It's exciting when you have had your iPhone 4 for 3 years, and you can renew your plan and get a new phone, finally. Maybe not if you get a new iPhone every single year.

I don' t quite believe the mockups are100% correct. The sidebezels look bigger than an iPhone 5s, but if you do the math, they should be slightly smaller. Could be because the iPhone 5s has chamfered edges and the dummy iPhone 6 doesn't have it yet.
But Apple has never let us down in the design department. Didn't like the iPhone 5 design when it leaked at first, now I love it, same will happen with the iPhone 6.
I would love a 4 inch option though.

I'm just glad Apple is finally putting a reasonably sized screen on the iPhone, it's about damn time. The main reason I got a Samsung over an iPhone for my last upgrade is because of the screen. But now that rumoured 5.5 inch iPhone entices me so...

I'm ready to upgrade my 4S. I'm hoping the 6 has a larger screen like the Galaxy S4/5, and faster than the 5S. If not, I'll likely be buying a Galaxy S5.

I will only upgrade if the iPhone 6 has less bezel space and more screen like the LG G 2. I've had my iPhone 5s since October of last year so not sure if I will upgrade or wait for the 6s.

It's possible you are experiencing the beginning stages of the inevitable swinging of the pendulum away from gadget mania.

Yep, at least where phones are subsidized or have payment plans, so the upfront cost is much less than the retail price.

Elsewhere, where the upfront cost is the retail price, I think that mass consumers will continue to buy large phones from other manufacturers who are able to accept lower profit margins.

I'm excited in that I like technology but not excited to buy. My 5s does everything I could ever want. I can't see what they could do to make me want to rush to buy a new one, but when its time to buy a new one seeing as the iPhone has been so good to my life I'll buy another.

Typed sat listening to music on headphones :) apple rocks :)

not sure about the larger size. Will have to wait and see when it is released. I own a HTC one and an Iphone 5S and prefer the compact size of the iphone.

I remember the days when people wanted compact like the Motorola StarTAC, and these days people almost want tablets lol

Big difference. Those days bigger offered nothing extra, these days it means a bigger screen.

In those days bigger = longer battery life, smaller = shorter battery life
These days bigger = shorter battery life

Sometimes the 5s is too long for my pocket. Doesn't stick out. Just when I sit and walk it interferes. 4/4s was perfect size. Screen size on 5/5s is better. Size of 4 with screen of 5 = perfect

The 5 screen is too small. Needs an extra inch.
