Well… I just upgraded last year to a 5C from a 4S. I still think of my 5C as new! I love that phone, but it’s at or slightly over the max size I’m interested in picking up to use for phone calls.

So although I hope people who want a larger phone will be happy if the iPhone 6 is larger, I’m not personally excited about that idea.

But who knows. Maybe when I’m 90 years old and can’t see for beans then I will like a cellphone as big as a laptop with buttons the size of an iPhone 6. The question then will be whether I even know what the buttons are for.

Anyway Apple has its target markets picked out for the iPhone 6, and they’ll do what’s best for their bottom line. It doesn’t really bother me that I might not be in that picture. I got my 5C and it’s rock solid. Anyway it's green so with a purple Small Dog bumper for a fashion changeup to celebrate Spring, my 5C is positively irresistible, like looking at lilacs in the park.

I’m looking forward to the next iOS though. The 5C is surely new enough to use most of what will be new in that, I assume. If I’m wrong then I might have to get a iPhone 6 and consider it "my small iPad mini" instead of "my iPhone 6". ;)

I took a deep breath this morning and realized - why do I even care about getting the 6?

If you really think about it and take into consideration the power of the current 5S, the only noticeable improvement will be the bigger screen, and even that you will get used to within a month.

The display will be better, but in comparison to the current Retina on the 5S it's not going to be groundbreaking. Speed differences will be barely noticeable. The camera on the 5S is fine the way it is. Same old operating system and feel will be there still.

For the first time I'm not excited about the new iPhone - I can't shake of this feeling of "same old, same old". Anyone else?

New technology excites me.. Why are you here?

Android and it's smartphones are crap ;)

Certainly not. They are (objectively) better on many points, but ultimately it is of course a matter of subjective opinion as well when it comes to making a decision.

Why not? There is nothing subjective in measureable differences, such as bigger and sharper displays, larger memory/storage etc.

And so is better build quality, more fluid, user-friendly and stable OS, better support, etc. ......
You get what I mean? It's an endless story.

I really don't know what to answer to this question. On one hand, I think that the 5S has paved the way for really awesome hardware innovations. On the other, I wonder how much I would want a bigger phone. I've played around with some 4.7" Android phones and for me, the bottom line is that I can't use properly on only 1 hand.
The other thing is the potential round edges. I find the iPod touch really difficult to grip in a secure way. It's so thin and light that it feels like it will fly from your hands at any minute.

I'm just excited for WWDC in general, not as excited as previous years for some reason. I think while typing this the levels went to "meh," I'm sure they will shoot back up again...

Threads like this tickle me especially when you see it was started by a MacrRumors newbie. Makes you wonder if it's the Samsung Astroturfers out in full effect!

No phone coming out these days are revolutionary. Now it's annual evolutionary upgrades that maintain the cash flow. Android and windows phone are the same way. It surprises me how spoiled some folks can be when they feel like any company can release "blow your mind away" items every year like it is so easy to do. The sheer stupidity to think that a company can reinvent the smart phone every year!

The original poster complained that the iPhone is the "same old, same old" when in fact, iOS 7 was released a little while back and it changed everything up. Apparently that is old now and has been out about a year maybe? How do you pacify that type of mindset? Release something monthly apparently.

What the heck more do some of you guys want?
My smartphone does pretty much everything that I could ask of it and there are only a handful of new things I would like. Namely a bigger and better screen, more RAM, better battery life and better coverage from my network...

Why is the for the first time?

iPhone 3G: only noticable improvement is the addition of 3G. You'll get used to that pretty soon.

iPhone 3GS: exact same phone but a bit faster, that's it. You'll get used to that pretty soon.

iPhone 4: nice screen, but speed increase is barely noticable. You'll get used to that pretty soon.

iPhone 4S: it's just faster. Besides that, you'll get used to it pretty soon.

iPhone 5: speed increase barely noticable, screen only slightly smaller. You'll get used to that pretty soon.

iPhone 5S: better camera, speed improvement barely noticable. You'll get used to that pretty soon.

Yes, Me. I only care aboot iPad. I'll get an android phone. iPhone bores me to tears. It's really great with what it's supposed to be and do but it's not for me.
And Android is super exciting? Android is exciting because it's something different, not because it's Android.

I'm not.
I do not like those bezels and the fact apple just increase the screen and keeps the same design...

So you are basing your opinions on rumors when noone has seen the iPhone 6 at all or even know what features it has? Only on planet earth!

Got my 4S day one and still wowed by it. Just got a new wallet case for it. All fits nicely in my pocket. Syncs seamlessly with my iPad and iMac. No plans to upgrade.

Just don't understand how they are solving the "no back button" problem. If I always have to reach the top left corner to go back makes it terrible from the UX perspective

Swipe the screen to the left, no need to reach for the top corner in most screens.
