Almost, yes. Maybe the pinkish tint is a bit more visible in real, mostly in the left upper corner (in comparison to the right).

my previous one is just like yours, and I had a replacement yesterday. I think the pinky one is worse than the yellow one because the color pink is not supposed one a screen. yellow is warm, blue is cold, pink is weird. :)

Mine also yellower/brighter on the bottom. And all ive seen in the apple store is same. Prolly it is what it is. I may skip 7 this year bothering me too much

Just finished setting up a 7. Very similar to a SE i have here, indoors and out. So similar i couldn't say which i prefer. Was definitely concerned but now that that's over i can put mental-gate behind me. ;)

6s plus vs 7 plus. Both at minimum brightness focus on center in between the two phones.

The pictures are accurate. This is how it looks in person.

Two different 7 pluses compared:

And both of these are better than an earlier 7 plus I opened, which was even less yellow than the first one I received.

They are ALL different. And EVERY unit at two stores was more yellow/dimmer than my 6S Plus.

It's not white point. It's not color gamut. It IS the same panel variability we have been seeing

All 3 at max brightness. 1 6s plus. 2 7 pluses:

So I finally find display thats is very close to the ones on display. However IMO the top is darker than the bottom. thoughts? I'm wondering if the brightness on top will even out.

I do remember my initial iphone 7 had the same issue with the bottom being brighter and then it became less obvious over time.

You should compare on full brightness. Perhaps apple designed the new screens to have a lower low to reduce battery drain in certain situations.

Also, none of these screens look even to me!

Just tried to upload but this forum says the 7 plus pics are too large.

It's not as drastic at max brightness, but there is still a difference. And there is a difference at every point along the brightness slider.

My point is simply that there is panel variability, and apples upstream suppliers have not fixed it. Nor has apple required a fix as a client.

The 7 Plus is hands down the worst screen I've experienced so far, going back to the 3GS

I agree. I went through 5 phones to find an acceptable one. I think apple and their suppliers are cutting corners to keep profits up in the face of the world's economic woes. Demand just isnt' there for the supply.

It doesn't, but you habituate to it and stop noticing over time. This is what people have confused as glue drying.

I agree.

For me this all started with the 6. When they switched over to an even thinner panel these issues started popping up more it seemed. Also it's the same for the iPads if you search around the forums. After the iPad 4 these uniformity threads started popping up like crazy with the air, air 2 and now both pro's!

I think it's something to do with the nature of these super thin lcd's (and the edge backlight) and it's really hard to get a super even one.

Most people don't notice the issues. And that's working out for apple.

My 7 after a couple weeks now is still about the same as when I got it. It's uneven as in the top left does have a faint pinkish tint that goes to a more creamy white as you go to the bottom. The right side is less creamy and a little more of a pure white. I don't have any temperature shift but I do have an area where the keyboard is that is slightly greyish and dimmer than the rest of he screen. After scouring the internet (google search "LCD uniformity") and researching I find that this spot is likely what they call DSE or dirty screen effect. This plagues even some of the most expensive panels. When scrolling text (panning shots) you can see this area of the screen is slightly dimmer/greyish/dirty looking when the text dips in and out of this area. Once you see it it's hard to unsee it! I should mention this is something that is much worse at a lower brightness setting. It's not as noticeable if you are outside and the brightness is maxed out.

Anyways, I'm sure it's possible to get a better one than I currently have but it's more likely that I get one worse before I do! After my exchange game fun with the iPhone 6 I know better now!

I really do wish apple implemented better QC or did give the option to pay a little more for a better panel. But this probably won't happen. They are too huge now and a tiny percentage of people who notice the flaws don't matter to them. The train will keep on rolling.

I'd seriously take a scratched up dinged phone for a even screen! The rest of my phone is perfect but when I use it my eyes focus on that greyish blob and I grumble. Maybe next generation things will improve.

I noticed the same thing. Starting around 3 years ago I started having big screen issues with Apple products. I returned 5 rMBPs, 3 iphone 6s, and 5 iphone 7s. The screens of these products, although high definition compared to the screens of old, just don't have the uniformity of lower definition panels. This said my iPhone 4 was very uniform. Small screen though! So, easier to accomplish.

I'm unsure if it's a a limitation of the technology or cost cutting. I suspect cost cutting.

That's my experience, too! Anyway, as I'm still in the 14 days I sent my iPhone 7 Plus back today and are waiting for a new one (hoping that this one has a better screen and also no other problems...toitoitoi). I saw the new iPhone 7 my boss has got two weeks ago...with an almost perfect screen!

I had this game with all of my Apple units so far. Coming from Samsung Galaxy (never had any problems with these AMOLED screens)...I returned my iPad Air two times, the third one was okay, but still had a warmer left side than right one. Then my iPhone 6. First one had a dark shadow where the battery symbol was. Returned. New one had the same shadow but a bit smaller and darker, moreover it had tiny marks on the back. Though, I decided to keep ist...but then after 4 weeks the camera ring shifted. Thanks to Applecare they sent me a new (refurbished?) iPhone 6 which had only a very small shadow and no problems at all. The best device of all three! Ok I was happy the last two years.

Then I decided to buy an iPad Pro 9.7. What on hell is that?? Left hand side was (really visible) pinkish. Returned within the 14 days. The new one is better but still has a slight pinkish tint on the left.

iPhone 7 Plus....same procedure...for me the screen had a visible slight pinkish tint on the left hand side towards the top (pretty much the same as imagineadam writes). I'm dissapointed. The iPhone 7 is such a great device...I love the camera and homebutton. But I really cannot understand why they always have these problems with screens :-(

if not because of the icloud and the apple environment( iphone ipad Mac), I'd rather jump to another band, with lower price and better quality.

Honestly, vin7ces...I was thinking about. I don't have any iMac or Macbook...thus that would be no problem.

Same here. I'm tired of apple honestly. I don't know if other brands would be better.

Maybe when I go to buy my next computer I'll get a dell xps. Those any good? Then get a Samsung phone, hoping it doesn't blow up!

Maybe quality products just aren't made anymore. It's all about max profits!

Your post got me thinking about my iPhone 4!

I dug it out and noticed how much cooler the screen temp is and the I played with the color settings filter on my iPhone 7. I set the intensity to the max and then I moved the hue slider until the screen was as darkest shade of blue as possible (right before it starts to turn purple) then I slid the intensity back down to the minimum. I opened up the settings app on both phones and now the color temp is the exact same as my iPhone 4!! It looks much better and I can barely see the dirty yellowish part in my keyboard! I suggest this to anyone who isn't liking the pre calibrated warmer tone that the iPhone 7 is set at default.

It takes a little while to get used to and the first few time I go away then come back to my phone it's a little jarring but then my eyes readjust and I think I'll be keeping this setting but still using night shift sometimes at night. Maybe my main problem is that the screen is just warmer to begin with and it makes the flaws even easier to see with the uniformity. Setting it back to the cooler blue white hues seems to mitigate the uniformity issues I was seeing. Well hope this might help someone!

So, I noticed that my 6th iPhone (yes, I went through 6 of them) is uneven at the top with the left being lighter. Obviously, not going to try to go through more. It's much better than the other ones, which were half yellow. My point is that there really aren't even iphones out there. 6 out of 6 are uneven in some way.

I guess this is just normal.

Do you have a 7 or 7+ ?

I've seen two iPhone 7 which do have a really even screen. I guess my 7+ (which I returned) has a similar problem as yours...the left side was maybe only brighter....but for me it has also a slight pinkish tint.

Could you post a pic please?

You'll never have perfect uniformity with an edge lit LCD display...just a limitation of the technology. Some are better than others though.

That might be true!

I've gone through both. Currently have a plus.

I keep thinking my screen is uneven cause the control panel when I swipe it up looks darker on the left corner. But then she I put landscape it's again darker on left corner (which is a different corner than in portrait). Maybe it's my eyes.
