Everyone here should just start a Scratchgate thread now so you can be first. Only there will be less sympathy given Apple already warned everyone.
Maybe the mods will preemptively ban the term 'scratch gate.' Do you people realize how ridiculous you appear whenever you start a thread with 'gate' in the title?

that guy is annoying.. dont' get the jet black.. if you have return it. lol. Its called body wraps or screen protectors. i can't with the nonsense. Get the color you like and if you don't want scratches on any of your iphones matte or glossy get a cover.
Skins will not protect your phone from drops and stuff WILL eventually make their way inside your case and scratch the JB iPhone 7.

If you don't care about scratches and love the JB, go for it! It looks beautiful! If you care about scratches then do NOT buy the JB iPhone 7 because it will eventually scratch. Yes, all phones are prone to scatches but the Jet Black iPhone 7 is more prone to damage.

Okay, I'm almost convinced. The one time I got a screen protector, I thought it was okay at first, but but the edges started to bug me and I eventually peeled it off. I also don't like the feel of them, though I'm sure some are different than others.

Interestingly the jet black model looks somewhat like a new phone compared to the other colors.
Remember the rumors for 2017 iPhone? One glass slap wrapped around? Looking at the press pictures of jet black without knowing what it is, it seems like glass.

So maybe the rumored anniversary iPhone was just some people looking at leaked renders of the jet black version?

Makes no sense to argue that it will not protect it from drops. If you are dropping the phone it will be damaged whether it is the matte black or jet black, so that point is silly. The point is if the phone is prone to micro-scratches like just sitting on the table or in your pocket and for that I got the clear protective skin. I have yet to drop my phone. In any case, if you want jet black and want to put it in a case then best skins ever has a protective coating that you can put on the phone before it goes in the case called case-fit. That should protect it from whatever dirt gets inside the case. There... problem solved.

Every one of the colors is going to scratch. None more than another.

The issue is that the Jet Black, because of its high polish, will SHOW those scratches more so than the others.

How long do you plan on keeping it though? It's not going to look horrible. Micro scratches are not a big deal. You won't have deep gouges that you will feel. And black cars are almost never swirl less now matter what you do it.
one year. Even a year it will look very very bad and resale value will go down (my main concern since I'm selling it myself). If i want to make more money on resale ill stick to black. Its harder selling phones with scratches all over it for the same amount of a perfect phone.

let me just say that I have no regrets in ordering JB. I will be using a clear case (many object to using a case at all--w/e!). I don't care about dust getting in the case, blah, blah, blah. Oh well lol

People had no problems selling the glossy black iPhone 3G/3GS, and it was a fingerprint and scratch magnet.

If JB becomes a more popular color, it'd be a wash. Just like how white and gold iPhones had higher resale values early on (just from being newer and different colors).

Sounds like some work to keep scratches at bay and kind of expensive. GL on your endeavor!

If the hardness is the same, as indicated by Apple, it is not easier scratched. The scratches are more visible because of the greater contrast between the finish and the scratched area.

But go ahead and believe whatever you want.
Denial isn't a river in Egypt my friend.

Corrected!

As I stated before, people are going to get what they want. And if it scratches anywhere near as much as the 3gs or 4, trust me, some folks will be angry...EVEN IF you put in a case. Why? Because it will probably be scratched right out of the box. That's not "aging"...that doesn't make the phone have more character.

But! Rotational 3D polishing and an anodisation process that creates a protective oxide layer and the single component dye that is absorbed through a capillary effect to ensure maximum saturation and finally the magnetised ultra fine iron particle bath!

umm, quit saying stuff you have no clue about. There is already proof that it scratches much easier. It is not made
with the same process.

The 4 never scratched if you took good care of it. I've been using one for 6 years, going naked and without a case for a year now. No visible scratches.
