Sorry for getting it wrong. I've owned my mistake, but I'm still hopeful that the iPod touch will be released on Thursday. Here's what I mentioned earlier:

So in other words the iPod will be updated this Thursday why would they not have updated it today is the question. But I for sure be getting one in blue or gold in 32gb
Please write back thanks

So Andres Cantu when do you think Apple is going to release an updated iPod touch even though it was supposed to be today when do you think there going to release it let me know

Nobody knows for sure. There seems to be a lot of chatter lately about an iPod touch update. 2 months ago it was the rumors circulating the net about a 4.7" & 5.5" iPod touch. Then the last two weeks it was this July 14th rumor about an iPod touch update.

Something's going on. Personally I feel they will update in September...um...like they used to before they stopped updating the iPod touch. Lol.

But with Apple just releasing their new music service, and iPod inventory reportedly being constrained lately, it does hint at a much sooner announcement. Obviously not July 14th....but perhaps sometime this summer.

Guess it's back to waiting for some concrete leaks or news.

That's what I'm thinking. There seems to be low stock of iPods in many stores and the Apple online store is saying shipping times are delayed, so those can be hints. Perhaps they decided to wait until Thursday, just like all updates before.

Yea Andres Cantu I understand where I live Apple has a estimated wait of 1-3 days for the iPod touch also do you think Apple is going to have a display like the iPhone 6 and what prices do you think there going to have for this new generation. Also the new generation will be released Thursday. let me know your thoughts

No, I think the display will stay the same (just as the pictures from iTunes show).

To be honest, I have no clue regarding the storage capacities or pricing. They could stay at $199 for 16GB, maybe $299 for 64GB and $399 for 128GB. Don't quote me on those, though, as I don't know if they plan on keeping the $50 difference or the 32GB model.

So it never happened. What a let down!!

I wonder if anyone from Apple reads this Forum? If so they must be laughing at all us idiots who got excited about a launch on July 14th.

Maybe those images were just a complete red-herring, someone made up a random date, and played about with the colour! ;)

To be honest, I feel like we will see a price drop of $50. I also think that Apple will ditch the 32G model and give us a 128G option...I honestly doubt that last prediction though...

I'm still hoping for a release this week. A 128gb with A7 processor will be good enough for me. Hoping though that there is a 128gb version.

Prepare yourself for more disappointment - it ain't happening in July.
Best we can hope for is September.

No, it will be this month. Stores have run dry of iPod models, the ONLY reason that happens is because they cannot buy anymore from their suppliers who in turn can't buy anymore from Apple.
Apple is not going to make stores have no iPod stock for 2 months.

All our prayers will be answered TODAY! According to 9to5mac:

Apple will be rolling out a refreshed line of iPods today, according to sources. As indicated by new colors recently found in iTunes on the Mac, the new iPod touch, shuffle, and nano will come in new darker blue and pink colors. A gold color will be added as well for all three iPods.

The new Nanos and Shuffles won’t get new features, but the iOS-based iPod touch will see a considerable upgrade. Here’s what we’re hearing is coming to the touch:

  • Major camera upgrade from 5 megapixels to 8, matching the count on the iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2.
  • New 64-bit chip for faster operation and better graphics for gaming.
  • “M” chip from the iPhone for fitness, steps, and elevation tracking.
  • Pre-loaded with iOS 8.4 and Apple Music following the June 30th launch.
  • New 128GB model for $399, still starting at $199 for 16GB. There will also be a $299 model with 64GB of space.
As indicated by the references last month in iTunes 12.2, the overall designs and screens of the new iPods will remain the same as their predecessors. These are the first major iPod upgrades since 2012, and with Apple’s focus on the iPhone and iPad, these will likely also be the last for some time.

If they DO put all that into the new Touch and keep the same 4" screen size and body, that's defo going on my Christmas list :) Just need the 16GB one.

so what is it for? Just for apple music? Because you can't do much with the 4" screen anymore. I play games on my Iphone 6 and my thumb pretty much covering everything.

How do you suppose all the people with iPhone 5 and 5s are using their phone if you can't do anything much on 4" screen?

If they add GPS capability to what 9to5mac listed, I am sold. It would be amazing to go for a run or a ride, track your route and listen to offline AppleMusic.
+1 - Seems a better fit to put GPS in the iPod than the Watch at this point. iPod Touch/Nano with GPS would be a boon for running, cycling etc. Maybe we see this around/after the next Watch (OS) launch.
(If the GPS was in the iPod, and the iPod could link to a BT HR monitor, 2 battery drains replaced by the issue of passing on the HR/GPS data to the iPod & Watch, with a watch not needing constant updates necessarily).

LOL Your track record in guessing what Apple was going to do regarding the iPods on July 14 is not very good.
"It's pretty much guaranteed that new iPods are coming out next week on the 14th." Any subsequent guesses are probably just as "accurate".

But I admire the confidence you have to continue on with your predictions. :)
Turns out my "predictions" were both off by one day. I would say that's pretty "accurate" :)

Really intrigued as to what changes they do make I mean I would even be happy with the A7 chip even if it will be 2 generations behind in a few months. I am happy Apple is doing a new iPod Touch though. I bought a 5th gen at the start of the year and the age of the hardware really shows on iOS8.

Which one. If you keep making predictions, you will eventually be correct :D.

Now, will it have an A7, A8, or A9 ?
You're 100% right about that, thought it's not like I said yesterday that they wouldn't be released until September, which many people did. And still sticking to an A7!
