I look forward to next years AirPods 2, with a revolutionary cable connecting the headphones so you don't lose them or look like a fool while wearing them.

Will anyone be pissed if they buy these today and they release a newer version with the wireless charging case in 3 months?

Are you being sarcastic?

Not sure what’s revolutionary about a cable connecting them?! Well actually I’m sure there’s nothing revolutionary about it...only updates will be better sound, better Bluetooth maybe. I woulnt mind them adding a small button to go back and forth between songs.

But the i came here to say I just Got me a pair this past week. I’ll admit I was skeptical and had no intentions of buying them anytime soon. But no I was at the apple store already for a repair so I couldnt help myself.

What I love most is having my phone in my room while I venture to the kitchen bathroom even out front to walk my dog they work seamlessly. Only hiccup was using the microwave messed up the connection while it was in cane right back when it finished though lol.

I bought them and used them to watch Netflix on my iPad in bed. But they fall very easily. In the car, I have bluetooth, so my use for these are mainly for YouTube etc. Unfortunately for me they stay in my ear only in upright position like in standing or sitting in a chair.

I don't think the fit for me is as bad as yours, but it is just insecure enough that I looked for a solution to help keep them in my ears. Here's a custom ear mold solution I used, with references to some info in another post:

'Exceptional Sound Quality' ... Really?:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Its one thing if you don't like AirPods... but comparing to another similar competition product on sound quality... This is trolling on a next level altogether!

Thank you for you opinion.

Yes it was a joke/sarcasm. Sorry just one of many people pointing out that Apple have fixed something that didn't need fixing. I don't want to charge my headphones, I just want them to work. If they come up with wireless headphones that don't need charging and sound anywhere near as good as cheap noise cancelling wired headphones, I might give them a try. Until then, just an unnecessary gimmick. Sound quality is not something you sacrifice (especially for $169.)

I have never used a pair of EarPods, they would not stay in my ears, ever. But I have zero issues keepin AirPods in, even when running. It’s incredible.
Me too, FWIW.

Propective users need to try them out. And there are silicone adapters if the fit is really problematic.

FIFY

For ME, mobility and convenience are key.

First of all, I don‘t see how your post has anything to do with my suggestion, that Apple won‘t sell the new case exclusively on its own.
Secondly, I don‘t see how Apple right now(!) has massive problems to meet the demand. Shipping times have dropped to 1-3 days in a lot of countries. This doesn’t suggest supply problems to me.

I have never addressed your suggestion that Apple won't sell the new case. You're confused.

This is what I addressed.
The only difference should be a metal coil in the case (haven‘t heard any other rumored changes).

It would seem, according to logic, that if the AirPods have "improved" to 1-3 days in a lot of countries would suggest two things. 1. There was supply vs. demand issue as there's a delay to receiving your AirPods. Do I need to define "delay" for you? 2. It's "improved" but it's still 1-3 days, indicating that Apple is still having difficulty, while "improved", maintaining a supply for the demand because, logic again, would deem that Apple is unable to keep an inventory in stores for customers to purchase while at the store and leave with that product. Ordering online is the same.

Unless you can explain how a supply problem doesn't mean waiting for your product which isn't quite available for delivery when you make your initial purchase.

So you’ve obviously not used them then. Too bad. They are incredibly convenient.

It’s really handy when, say, you are on a conference call and the battery gets low, to pop one airpor out and charge it up in the case while you continue on the call. Can you do something so simple with tethered Bluetooth headphones?

Can you carry your wired noise cancelling headphones around in your pocket.

Also, I have taken and received calls on many Bluetooth headsets where the quality simply sucked. That isn’t the case with the AirPods. But I guess that’s a use case that doesn’t need solving.

Totally agree. People walking around wearing giant over-the-ear headphones around their neck look so much cooler. Plus they won’t lose them.

Take a walk through any airport today — or any airport lounge — and you’ll see plenty of people apparently unconcerned that they look like total fools with their AirPods. They are shameless. They should really spend more time worrying about what other people think.

I’m not surprised. They are much better sounding and versatile than I expected them to be.

The only downside is that they don’t fit underneath a motorcycle helmet. :(

What helmet do you use? I was able to use my AirPods comfortably while wearing my Shoei GT-Air....

You could always opt for ear hooks. Only issue with them is that they need to be removed to charge them.

I work from home and take calls all day using my iPhone. I'd really like to ditch the cord and get these. What is the battery life like? Can you get through one day in the office using them?

They are amazing. All I will say is that it will depend on the user. Based on your questions, I am guessing these are notfor you. I hope that I am wrong:

You asked about the battery life, so for listening only (not talk) it is about 4-5hrs. When you charge them for 15mins, you’ll get 3 hours! In total you’ll get 24hrs. However, for talk only, you’ll get 10-12hrs - 50% less than listen only.

Hope that helps?

I haven’t tried this yet. Mainly because I like being able to play/pause/skip using the controls on the wired earbuds since they hang just under my helmet as the wire is routed into my jacket.

Yeah I’m waiting for the wireless charging case as well.

I’m hoping there will be a 2nd generation of AirPods released alongside it, but maybe it’s too soon. Black or space gray would seem likely, too.

An update to the W chip and battery should be classed as 2nd gen not the wireless case, so I doubt it is.

I was very critical of AirPods. High price and average SQ.

Then, I decided to look for wireless headphones that *didn't* isolate. I'm ended up with a set and I'm still thrilled every time I use them. I couldn't be happier with them.

How is having to charge your headphones more convenient?
Different people prize different features differently. I have to charge my AirPods once every few days, and it’s not that hard to find an hour here and there to plug it in. In exchange, I get an integrated case which fits easily in my pocket, and the AirPods are super comfortable to wear and convenient to pair and keep.

For me, the pros and vastly outweighed the cons.

Well, I guess I shouldn't hold my breath for a black version. If Apple did make them in black, it might even triple the shipment. I'll certainly buy another pair in black.
Apple missing a trick here...people want colour options.

Those are the same people complaining about the notch on the X and missing headphone jack.

So you’re saying watching videos with the iPhone X, which costs £1k, in portrait mode is okay? Can you justify that in the 21st century? Crazy.

I am quite confident you will respond in regards to sells etc. Unfortunately, there is a balance in this world with good and bad, Einstein and not. You get the picture. You know what, this is the best time to start a business - iPhone X sales gives us hope lol
