That's trivial compared to things like Camera hardware. The display is not as dense so yes we will be missing out.

I love how $649-$749 is now considered "low-end & midrange"![]()
Bigger devices can get away with lower pixel counts because you need to keep them further from your face to take in the whole device.Such a low PPI LCD panel on a phone that size is going to be pretty miserable to look at.
Hopefully the new larger size won't mean more production issues and we'll have greater supply at launch next year. I hit the Nov 3 date but I saw a lot of people ordering in the first hour had significant waits.
I hate how many different models Apple are creating, I miss when they had just one type.
For the normal iPhone user it must be so confusing lol
I care about a beautiful display more than a camera. That's trivial compared to things like Camera hardware.
excellent options! more choices...if you consider that a good thing![]()
That's fine if Apple wants to make a larger one and charge more for it.
But there needs to be feature-parity across the OLED models. After the X, no one is going to buy the argument that some special camera improvement can only be unique to the 6.5" model.
I only ever bought the Plus models for the camera, and I'm ecstatic that the X has come down to reality with a usable size AND all of the hardware Apple can dish out.
I'm never, ever going to buy a 6.5" iPhone and I will be extremely irritated if I'm missing out on camera or other hardware features because Apple chose to make them unique to the "premium" model.
Tell that to the number of people that are buying the 8 Plus. They are just responding to the market's needs.
Then you should have no problem with iPhone X.I care about a beautiful display more than a camera.
I understand the shift to larger displays and that transition has been growing for years.
However, you're not correct to say "Only diehard SE users think it makes sense." I did own the SE at one point and in doing so, I realized you don't care about having the latest technology in the SE, you care about the form factor And the comfortability when holding it and carrying it. You don't have to be a "diehard" SE owner to know and appreciate the 4 inch form factor.
Any SE user knows they receive the essentials with Touch ID and a strong battery in a well made iPhone, and that's all that most ask for in the SE, regardless if it's updated in 2018 or not.
Can we quote you on that? LOLI was a Plus user and I now find the size of the X perfect. By the way, I think the new ones will be called iPhone 9 and iPhone X Plus
Jeez Apple, take a step back and remember that smaller can be better.
I’m loving my X, big time.
I will love my 6.5” Plus at least as much, too.![]()
It's not more choices. It's just price shifting everything upwards.
I thought as tech matured prices are suppose to go down. Since Cook took over, it's been the opposite as shown by the iPad, iPhone, and MBP.
