If you workout with your iPhone it will fail a lot more. Sensor doesn't like sweaty fingers.
Or BBQ sauce fingers for that matter.
Haha. Yeah I suppose. Touch ID is excellent for me. I welcome any change however.

People defending the 16GB are not thinking straight. The problem is not that the 16GB phone exists, the problem is that Apple's asking too much money for it. They're asking an incredible amount of money for a phone with a storage capacity exactly the same as 6 years ago. They have even increased the price of the iPhone by about €150 since then.
I guess these people don't really have a sense of the actual price of an iPhone and only see contract prices.
...The sweet spot is 32gb, but they don't offer that, instead they provide a 64gb option for the same $100 that used to only give us 32GB.
That's awesome, however also kinda gives us the message that they could also afford to sell us a 32GB phone at the current 16gb price point.
I strongly feel that the current space / price model is based more on profit, than it is customer service.
They added 64GB for the price of 32GB...hello?If they don't want to get rid of the 16GB model, they could at least add a 32GB one to their lineup.
Ha! You do make me laugh!16's more than enough, i've never gone past 60% capacity i don't understand why people need 64 and 128 on a damn phone, there's just no need.
those are the ones that stay glued to it and are anti-social imo
That's why you and most people are wrong. You just get information from this board while Tim Cook had the data of installation based number for those are due with 2 year contract. Remember this: 6/6+ only took 20-25% installation base last time.Is it just me or has anticipation for the 6s felt a lot less than previous iPhone launches? I think that the 6 and 6+ launch was so huge, it's dwarfing this one. I honestly don't know many people that are going to get this one. Me included and I usually get the newest model every year.
Apple is greedy? Maybe you should ask yourself why you are so cheap to spend $100 for 64GB?Ha! You do make me laugh!
Do you don't have any music on your phone? I could fill 32gb just with my music collection.
We all use our phones differently, do saying there is just no need is daft.
It's just apple being greedy, it probably cost pence to put 32g instead of 16gb in these phones but they will continue to do it as long as people continue to buy them!
It goes into price heaven as a jellicle phone.What typically happens to the pricing of the old phone (6) when a new phone is released (6s)?
What mobile OS are you using that takes up 8GB of space? Windows 8 RT?
The 16gb targets corporate clients. My company gives an iPhone to all managers and up and there are many rules you have to follow regarding what you can and cannot do with the phone. If you follow the rules, 16gb is more than enough. Thus, it would be just a waste to have more capacity.
I wouldn't mind so much if iCloud was less expensive. And family sharing was more accessible. And shared libraries made more sense. [Family] Shared data tariffs could change all of this.

This is why Americans failed in education especially math: 16GB -> 32GB is better deal than 16GB->64GB for $100.The force touch motors and electronics are free? New cameras are free? Improved touch ID is free? larger bundle of free software and lifetime upgrades are free?
There is Apple's 30% margin stuff in these memory prices but what has happened over time is that while holding the Flash storage somewhat constant Apple has stuff more other hardware into the Phone. That will drive up the base cost independent of the Flash RAM size. Apple gets volume discounts and new components come down over time but at least some of the savings on more affordable Flash memory has gone into more other stuff ( hardware and software) being included in the phone. The baseline component cost of the phone is staying about the same. As some components get cheaper, Apple throws other more expensive components into to keep the price about the same.
It is better than it was 16GB + ( $100 for another 16) -> 32 GB +( $100 for another 32) -> 64GB is now
16GB + ($100 for another 48GB ) -> 64GB + ($100 for another 64) -> 128GB
The additional $100 is buying more Flash. But Flash isn't the majority of the baseline cost of the phone. Probably not even the most expensive component cost.
16GB is manageable for a pretty wide group of folks. Just take some stuff off. The photos haven't looked at in forever? You can store those on a PC/Mac ( Cloud isn't a requirement unless the iPhone is the only computer and only storage drive you own). Giggle game 42 that you stopped playing 2 years ago... yeah it is time to delete from local storage.
16GB isn't a good pack rat phone but it is hardly as limiting as folks are making out. The new "app slimmer" mechanisms will make that better. ( a significant chunk of apps are resources that won't be used on a modern iphone.... why store them in the first place? Those apps without app slimming... yet another reason to archive stuff that just don't use. )
It isn't about customer service but customer value. The vast majority of folks are buying phones not primarily based on storage capacity. if there were then probably SD cards would be the top priority feature of every phone. They aren't. ( and grossly obsessed over by the tech porn press. ) Somehow that other hardware/software that Apple is including makes enough of a value perception that millions of folks buy the phone.
They added 64GB for the price of 32GB...hello?
iOS 9 takes up 4.6gb. There is still more than 70% of the space available. (And with new app thinning, it will save another 3gb)
My wife has had 16gb for the past 4 years - never run out of space. In fact, she has over 4gb still available. 16gb is 'too much' for her.
This is the type of memory SHE needs for her low intensive phone use with 10 apps and pictures. She has no need to pay more money for something she won't use. Apple understands these users.
This is why Americans failed in education especially math: 16GB -> 32GB is better deal than 16GB->64GB for $100.

when the price of the iPhone is overinflated anyway, an extra $100 for storage that cost a maximum of $10. Yes in my mind is apple greed.Apple is greedy? Maybe you should ask yourself why you are so cheap to spend $100 for 64GB?
Because the base model should be 32GB at that same price, as they are making a killing off their storage tiers as it is... is where I believe most people are coming from. Make a base model, priced at the current base model price, be a little bit more realistic to what consumers need for when they purchase from the AppStore and iTunes (yes, more money for you, Apple) and take higher MP pictures. I believe a base model at 16GB could be made available to businesses, but consumers should have access to a base-priced iPhone that comes with more than 16GB. The 16GB phone should come with a big warning sticker for consumers that might not be savvy enough to help them understand that it's probably not going to be enough for them.
