So fox and quadcomm is losing stock share cause of the returns and repairs. Demands is high because not everywhere in the world has them, and some people just have to have them regardless of warranty. I don't call that great.

RIP Apple and Steve Jobs.

Tim Cook is smart enough to bring Apple to a 1trillion dollar valuation. And since sales figures of the 8 weren’t released “bomb” is a personal opinion. Everyone in MR can do a better job than TC.

Apple’s market cap will be down at 500 billion this time next year I guarantee it

I still think it’s a weak demand for years of owning iPhone since the first generation. Year after year from friends and family and coworkers they’re excited of getting one. They always ask me when the new one comes out and what’s gonna be look like and new features. I always tell them info whatever I get from here and I’m the go to person for opinions about tech toys. So far only one person I know upgraded to iPhone 8 and none of them got an iPhone X. Although this is just my observation around me and locally. Maybe the high demand is outside US because Apple opened up to more countries this time. That means rich people even in 3rd world countries can just grab one. Back then other countries have to wait even as far as middle to close to the end of next year to grab one.

Cool story Bro... meanwhile my two launchday orders, one at 12:03am and one at 12:07am, still haven’t arrived. On top of that I got an email TODAY from Apple saying my delivery time “may” be delayed. Ok, cool...
Why don’t you cancel, walk into a local store and buy them? Remember you are dealing with AT&T steller ordering system, not Apple’s. It does take away your ability to complain on the internet however.

What a rat race... When you step outside of it for just a moment, it seems so ridiculous that we’re talking about pushing a bunch a components together at an ever-increasing rate just to have that made obsolete, which starts the cycle over again. Meanwhile, yes, some people are working ridiculous hours to make it possible. Man, life is so weird - or at least the version we’ve made for ourselves.
You ever see the movie/documentary Samsara?

As you admit, you're using anecdotal data. That's a terrible way of drawing conclusions.

Demand is affected by a lot of things. This is the first year where most consumers across all major carriers are either no longer on subsidized plans or are still on them for no reason. (It's almost invariably a better deal to get off of them once you can now, assuming you don't have a grandfathered unlimited or the like).

People keep trying to draw conclusions here that they simply can't. "Weak" versus "strong" is unknown, and moreover, it's relative to competitors AND the overall market which is affected by macro factors.

I’m not sure what relevance this even has? I’ve stated the notch doesn’t bother me. Not noticeable. I mean how entrenched in a movie are you on s smart phone anyways lol?
My point, and it was pretty simple was those that are complaining the most are the ones who never even saw the phone in person or used the phone to begin with.
Then you would probably test all x-thousand cars before making your buying decision
(and have a busy time finding a partner...)

And it's great that Apple has a product that you're excited about. But my point is that there are going to be people who will NOT like the iPhone X. They have their reasons for it. And their reasons for disliking it are as valid to them, as the reasons why people are excited about it. This group-think mentality that everyone should feel the same (pro or con) is really a bit silly.
So is rushing to social media/forums to post useless personal opinions and buying choices. Other than having created more useless banter with other members who cares? Many begin to sound like stale Vegas lounge comedians saying the same lines over and over in different threads. Time for some new material.

Shocker... supply is running fine just in time for Christmas.

I don't think there were ever any real delays or concerns. Just hyping things up and getting consumers in a must-have dash to buy.

It only "blends in" if you are watching older Academy ratio videos (the pillarboxing hides the notch), or, if you're watching movies with a lot of outer space scenes or darkly lit scenes.

But to claim that a black patch "blends in" is simply not possible. A person's brain can compensate so that it isn't as noticeable to them as it was in the beginning, but that is different than "blending in".

I find it interesting that some of the people who are defending the notch as not being distracting were some who wanted Apple to produce 16:9 aspect ratio iPhones and iPads because they found letterboxing distracting. (That's a general observation, not directed at you.)

Maybe the bling of the $ makes it blend in.

I wonder if the "no contract" part was the kicker? I've been seeing people complain about the availability of them.

I preordered mine (a 64GB) on launch day. Had an original ship date of Dec 1-8.
Received it 2 days before Thanksgiving.
12:03am was a no contract AT&T Spcae Gray, 256. 12:07am order was for for a no contract AT&T silver, 256. The Space Gray shipped on 11/15 from China. It stayed in Korea a few days. Tracking says it’s finally in the States. On the other side of the country from me. The Silver is still stuck in the “preparing” status.

That’s sad. I preordered mine (a 64GB) on launch day. Had an original ship date of Dec 1-8. Received it 2 days before Thanksging. IDK if it matters, but I live in California.

my opinion is that sooner than later market will be saturated with this phone as not everyone (in apple ecosystem) can afford such an overpraised device. Official price in EU country I live is ~USD1630 for 256G version (together with VAT) which is crazy .. especially considering how "crisp" this phone is - any kind of damage will cost you additional fortune and apple care is not available everywhere. I don't know many people around me who are willing to spend such $ just for a phone.
