You only half quoted me. Some knock the phone and haven’t even seen one in person or used one.

Ok, here's the other half of your quote:
"Probably have never held one, used one, or saw one in person."

So you make up this idea (because you don't actually know) that they haven't held one, used one, or saw one in person and then take a dig at them for THAT (something that may not even be true).

If you want to be that kinda person and judge something only by photos and YouTube clips have fun with that lol
People can make an accurate assessment of a product without buying it first. Some things don't even require the need to even see a photo of it. It all depends upon a person's needs and wants in a device.

For example: If a 3.5mm headphone jack is highly important to someone, they don't have to see an iPhone X in person to know they don't like it.

And it's great that Apple has a product that you're excited about. But my point is that there are going to be people who will NOT like the iPhone X. They have their reasons for it. And their reasons for disliking it are as valid to them, as the reasons why people are excited about it. This group-think mentality that everyone should feel the same (pro or con) is really a bit silly.

“According to Kuo, who frequently shares inaccurate information from Apple's supply chain....”

There, fixed that for you.
Actually you would have to make a conscious decision to pay attention to it. The content I’m viewing isn’t at the top of the screen. And the notch isn’t in the middle of the screen where my eyes are focused. It’s simply a non-issue if you use the phone for more than ten minutes.

Pre-ordered a 64 Gigs Space Grey in October which will still be delivered early December. 6 weeks shipping with no improvements for me, have there been that much shipments yet (at least in Europe)?

Maybe they just got their first batches out and then every order since will be fulfilled from early December since all updated delivery times lead to that timeframe (5-6 weeks until early December shipment, then 3-4 weeks, then 2-3, then 1-2 weeks, all updated shipping times make all orders since arrive at the same time).

So for some reason they can’t improve shipping for old orders because they don’t have the devices yet but then within one week in December they can deliver two months worth of orders..

Yes, but to be fair, if you're going to be watching Dunkirk on anything smaller than [insert Chris Nolan's Minimum requirement here] you're already into damage limitation.

Personally, I think it's a bother that the notch couldn't have been designed differently, mainly for the reasons you and others are alluding to, and I tell myself that this is why I haven't ordered an iPhone X. I'm one of those people who actually wouldn't have minded a bezel.

In actuality the reason is that I can't afford to spend £1000 + on one. That said, if I were in the market for an iPhone (I'm not - I've just had my 7 replaced for a new one because the battery was over heating) I'd probably get a 7 Plus on account of it being pretty much identical to the 8 inside and out, and skip the X until they can sort out the design.
I’m telling you, when you actually use the phone the notch is not an issue. It simply isn’t. Also, if you’re watching video, you have to actively zoom in to make the content fill the notch area.

Jesus. Anyone claiming they can deduce a damn thing about the "success" or lack thereof of the iPhone X from this—or frankly any of the other information to date—either:

A) has an ideological axe to grind and/or
B) isn't using critical reasoning skills

About the only conclusion you can walk away with is that Apple is damn good at scale manufacturing of cutting edge tech. Which is what you'd expect from a Tim Cook run show.

Full stop.

Never said one had to “buy” the phone. But to say the notch is horrible but never even seen the phone in person ? Never to use the phone? That’s weak imo.

Yes, but what do you expect them to say? Seriously....

Maybe something like what many here seem to always say and believe: iPhone X shipping estimates are 7-8 weeks out. (because Apple artificially constrains supply to spur demand)

Given the successful production ramp, it is clear to me iPhone X is on course to exceed all sales expectations. It is very exciting to see Apple continue to sell huge quantities of product at higher prices. I wonder how high and how far they can go with the iPhone X Plus next year?
[doublepost=1511627193][/doublepost]
I have owned every iphone since the 4S.
I can tell you now, the next phone i buy will be a 8+, not an X

That's your loss.

iPhone X truly is the best smartphone Apple has ever made. You should want to own it for the best possible experience, because iOS 11 is fine-tuned to the X.

The cynics and pessimists, aka 80% of the 2017 MacRumors membership, won’t like this.

And the people who dont wanne belong to the "apple sekt" are laughing their heads of
[doublepost=1511627351][/doublepost]
[doublepost=1511627406][/doublepost]Ooops, Apple produces MORE iphones! WOW! And that news comes 4 days after the news that the chinese kiddies now work 14 hours a day!

Come on... I know we’ve talked a lot about Apple, but SOME information points to X being a success, albeit in the early innings.

1) $87B guidance.
2) Apple Stores are sold out as soon as they get stock, can track on istocknow
3) Apple themselves have said demand is off the charts.
4) 5.5M sold in greater China in 7 minutes as reported by a Chinese analyst using carrier data.
5) Reports of improved production. I put the least stock in this one as I don’t believe production has been as much of an issue as reported.

We don’t have and will never have product mix from Apple, but to dismiss all this information is just wrong. It’s (so far) looking like a huge success and not just because some people on a forum are speculating.

I honestly think you’d rather pick apart the logic of an argument than objectively look at the facts. This isn’t just confirmation bias.

Now I’m sure you’ll tick off reasons for why my list is garbage, but we will know a lot more in January.

Anybody over 5 years could imagine what gets obtruded by the notch.
You seem to be in do not disturb mode, without knowing it ;)

I’m not sure what relevance this even has? I’ve stated the notch doesn’t bother me. Not noticeable. I mean how entrenched in a movie are you on s smart phone anyways lol?

My point, and it was pretty simple was those that are complaining the most are the ones who never even saw the phone in person or used the phone to begin with.

MR, please stick to proper FY quarters when reporting financial news for Apple. Those of us who follow Apple know that October-December 2017 is Q1-FY2018. All the financial analysts do too and report that way. Mixing in calendar years further confuses an issue that seems to confuse a lot of people anyway.

I’d say you have a point, but I would not be so fast to dismiss the idea that user experience matters. When Apple removed the headphone jack on the 7 I was all on your side. I skipped the upgrade and was certain Apple would re-add a headphone jack at some later point in time. I was obviously wrong but I was even more wrong about me wanting to keep it. I started testing bluetooth headphone on my iPhone 6Plus during my runs. It has a huge advantag not to have a cable hanging from your phone. Especially when on a run, but actually everyday. It doesn’t happen often but every other time it seems a cable can get caught up in a door handle or some other thing. It is in the way when you commute, etc. Bluetooth is just a way better experience everywhere where audio quality is not the prime objective (everywhere where a lot if people and city noises kill decent sound anyways). So after using bluetooth headphones for a couple of months I knew making the switch wouldn’t be a problem. Your mileage may vary, but I was totally opposed to the idea until I made my own experiences with it. Obviously I would go with the headphones first before splashing out a good 1000 $ for the iPhone X.

FYI, confirmed to us this morning by "our Sources," but has NOT yet made it to the general public ... two updated versions of the iPhone 8 family are "in the works" at Apple:

1.) iPhone 8s with 3 GB of DRAM, &

2.) iPhone 8s Plus with 4 GB of DRAM.

They will be officially announced in MARCH, alongside the 4" iPhone SE 2.

Our sources tell us to expect NO price changes for any of the three, but that there could be a $50 or so drop.

NOT Rocket Science, Apple should done all that from the Get-Go (for the iPhone 8 family).

Tim Cook is NOT an intelligent man ... if he were, the (base) iPhone 8 would NOT have Bombed so Badly at Intro !

BTW, to-date, none of the so-called Pro Stock Analysts has yet brought-up the $618 ASP number ... that alone is EXTREMELY telling !!!

Which is it ??? ... Ponzi Scheme ?, Dog & Pony Show ?, Smoke & Mirrors ? ... you pick !

Tim Cook is smart enough to bring Apple to a 1trillion dollar valuation. And since sales figures of the 8 weren’t released “bomb” is a personal opinion. Everyone in MR can do a better job than TC.
