100%. Then they would see it was never about the size that it didn’t sell well. In fact it makes more sense for it to be a mini as an incentive to “upgrade” to a larger screen size. They should repackage the iPhone mini with updated specs.

well funny thing is most of the people using iphone se are teenagers as its a cheap iPhone with latest processor, im sure that teenagers will probably appreciate this change as basically a rebranded iphone 14 for $400 is a steal that im sure teenagers would enjoyThe SE was worth it because:-
- no notch
- screen size operable with one hand
- home button
- touch ID
Without these features the SE is just the cheap iPhone, which is ok if you do not want all the bells and whistles.
I am already thinking of moving to a Pixel with GrapheneOS
uh im a teenager who likes my home button, face id looks like a nightmare to use bc my mom has a iphone 11 and struggles to use itwell funny thing is most of the people using iphone se are teenagers as its a cheap iPhone with latest processor, im sure that teenagers will probably appreciate this change as basically a rebranded iphone 14 for $400 is a steal that im sure teenagers would enjoy

Sure the processor in the current SE outspecs the 12 and matches the 13, but uses an old design and screen - the current SE is basically an 8 with an A15 chip. What they are talking about here is using the design and screen from the 14, which doesn't seem like an Apple thing to do as it doesn't give enough differentiation between the lower end and the upper end. I don't think people will spend $100s more for just the dynamic island either, and how does Apple keep selling the 13 & 14 as mid range devices when the SE will have the same design and features, with a newer processor and lower price? The Dynamic Island. The SE could come with the A16 and outspec the iPhone 13/14. The same way the current SE does with the 12 while being on par with the 13 and 14.
same, but with a 2016 se when it runs out of security updatesMy plans are the same, though I might first keep my 8 Plus running until it is no longer supported.
i get headaches from looking at screens for awhile, and I've learned that OLED screens give me headaches faster than LCD screens, thats also why my little sibling now has a OLED switch now lolI really really really hope this isn't true and that they go LCD. They are aware that flicker sensitivite people have major issues with their OLED phones and if they go all OLED they cut off those of us who can't use OLED. It's sad for a company that take pride in their accessibility.
I think you’re a bit confused with the SoC numbers. The iPhone 15 will have an A16 (5nm++) and the 15 Pro an A17 (3nm), while the next iPhone SE could come with either an A15 or an A16. Too many numbers, confusing, I know.It makes me wonder why would people buy the iPhone 15 over this rumoured SE4.
(I'm assuming that we'll see a March/April 2024 launch for the SE4)
The 15 will have:
I mean these are nice to haves but I'd bet that they're not worth another $200 / $250/ $300 to get the regular 15.
- A new design of course
- incremental better processor (the A14 mostly likely) and better cameras.
- Dynamic island
- Crash detection
- Satellite SOS
Perhaps the battery life is going be very good? 🤷♂️
I suspect that we'll see the SE4, to keep the costs down:
But again, I'd be wondering what the regular 15 will have over the SE to justify the cost of it, as if I'm right, the SE4 still sounds a very good 'regular' iPhone.
- Keep the chassis design of the 14
- A13 processor and front and back camera from the 13
- And minus crash detection & satellite SOS from the 14,
I wholeheartedly agree with all of your listed assessments on the SE line! The SE was worth it because:-
- no notch
- screen size operable with one hand
- home button
- touch ID
Without these features the SE is just the cheap iPhone, which is ok if you do not want all the bells and whistles.

uhhhhIt‘ll be a repackaged iPhone 12, reused parts as usual for Tim the tight man.
The only reason it’s getting OLED and not a Repackaged XR which it originally was, is because Google and Samsung have SMASHED the mid range market now.
Pixel 6a comes with FHD+ OLED and 2 camera lens for just £299 in the UK, the SE is £430 with a gross 720p LCD from 2014 and a single lens.
Apple got a wake up call at last.
This smells like a quick transition from their iPhone 14 with lightning port, to a 14-like iPhone with USB-C.Wait... Won't this crash the trade-in value of iPhone 14 faster than any other previous generation iPhone?
I RARELY give anyone a thumbs down, but I can’t disagree any harder.A XR based SE is a great idea.
I would be first in line for SE+ using 8+ chassis with Touch.OLED would be a real bummer. My order of preference:
resurrect 8-plus, else current SE, else 11.
Anything OLED won't work for me.![]()
