Kuo and Gurman both saying they're not offering it is enough for me to say they couldn't figure it out. Samsung apparently can but Apple can't. Sorry if that upsets you.

they said they are not offering it because it’s not efficient enough. Losing lots of battery in the conversion isn’t “good”.

Last minute leak

Totally agree... I have a sweet little kit that I have refined. Single charger with USB-C and A + a Lightning cable built in, a multi head cable and a spare USB-C and Lightning cable. Small watch charger. Also, the charger is a battery as well. Handles my MacBook, iPad Pro, iPhone and Watch in one small kit.

‘Exactly. Have a small travel kit packed and always ready. 60w dual usb-c charger, two usb-c to lightning cords, 5w Apple charger, Applewatch dongle and short usb-a to mini-something for Powerbeats3, small power bank for emergency.

I have a launch day X too. I'm putting a new battery in and wait another year, iOS 13 will bring me some new features. iPhone 11 will be just a small iteration. Not worth upgrading until 2020's iphone.

Same thing I plan on doing.

USB-C seems problematic on my Pro, as I fear that the connector may break when trying to unplug it so I’d prefer if that connector did not come on the iPhones.

I'm not going to say your experience with USB-C is wrong, but it sure is different than mine with a MacBook and an iPad Pro. Having bitten the USB-C bullet, I'd be happier if all my mobile devices were fully USB-C, though I'm coping with the current situation just fine.

Thing is though, I would love to be able to use it as a watch charger when I travel. Plug in my phone to charge overnight, flip it over and set the watch on it and have both charge. That would be super awesome! Same thing at work. Every now and then my watch drains really fast and goes dead at work (once every couple months or so) and I have a phone charger right there at my desk, but not a watch charger. So being able to do the same thing there would be really handy.

Yes, this exactly. Or in the car, rather than having two charging cables dangling from the dash. It seemed like an esoteric feature to me at first, but I can definitely see cases where it would be a big plus.

Really? I sometimes last for two days on a single charge with my XR.

I make like 3 calls on my iPhone 7 and the battery from 100 it goes down to 30, I took it to the Apple Store, they said my battery is fine, even they can't find a solution why my battery drains so fast. They said I can try resetting my phone.

Why is that? In the recent past most if not all details leaked and so we knew what was being revealed. This could be the same. So, if we go by that and all we know is all we get, would you not say that the headline of the invitation was too arrogant? Its the title of the invitation that is the dealbreaker here because its setting us up for something great but the leaks don't support it. So one side is wrong.
And because of that I've stated what I did. When one is critical of Apple does that mean to you that that person has issues as you indicated? Or maybe you are right and I should visit a therapist :p
The same could be said about AirPower honestly. There were rumors even by Kuo that production is underway, then a few days later Apple announced that AirPower didn’t meet Apple’s standards so it was cancelled. As always, expect the unexpected when it comes to Apple. Everyone is hyping up the 2020 iPhones yet with Apple’s track record, we should not expect what the rumor mills pump out.

Given that Qualcomm's reverse charging operates at 4.5W and Apple has been shipping a 5W WIRED charger for eons, it's pretty laughable to assume it isn't "up to Apple's standards." More than likely the exclusion is a cost-cutting move to maximize margins.
Has to do with efficiency. You don’t get a 1:1 charge rate. You lose battery in the transfer.

Clarify/explain? Do you mean you lose efficiency, or lose battery charge, in the transfer? And if it's not 1:1 efficient, isn't that true of wireless charging for the iPhones when charged on a wireless pad now? Asking, not arguing.

What is crazy is that one of the biggest gripes many people have with the iPhone and just about every other smartphone on the market, is that battery life is not long enough - yet people want their limited battery life phones to give up even more of its life to charge their headset or even another smartphone? That just does not make sense to me.

I think the biggest boost to battery tech that I've really enjoyed is fast charging when connected by wire to an 18 watt charging plug (from my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9"). The fact that I can get a big boost in battery life in a very short period of time is a huge plus. I've used it multiple times when traveling for work, where I was down in the 20% range at the end of the day and only had a short amount of time between meetings and going to dinner with customers. Just 15 to 20 minutes on the charger in the hotel room and I'm back over 50% charge, which is fantastic.
I see your 18W charger and raise you a 45W charger on my Note 10+ :) Fast charging is definitely huge.

I imagine a lot of us plug in chargers in our house so that they are out of the way and convenient to use at the same time. If I want to pack my watch and phone charger I have to crawl under my desk and undo my cable management and then re-do all of that work when I get back from my travels. As someone who travels quite frequently, it is much easier to just use my USB-C laptop charger as a universal charger. I combine this with the wireless power sharing feature to also charge devices with small batteries like my watch and wireless earbuds. Until you actually use the feature you have no idea how convenient it is to have.
People who travel a lot would normally have a set of cables they keep exclusively in their travel bag. Try it out.

That’s true. With Lightning, I don’t need to use as much effort to unplug my phone, yet with USB-C, I have to use more force to remove the connector. That’s where my issue is with Type-C. It may be that the port is a bit tighter on my Pro, or it could be that the connector really likes my Pro lol, but one problematic experience is enough for me, considering that I’m paying a hefty price for Apple products that I don’t replace for 3 to 5 years at a time.

Yeah, who needs innovation? Innovation is boring. For the $1,000, just give me a little more speed and an incementally better camera. Oh, and throw in a couple more emojis.

I posted this elsewhere: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...tember-20-launch.2195745/page-4#post-27673119

Name one year where Apple have lived up to your weird standard of "innovation"? Innovation just means something new, and "a little more speed" and an "incrementally better camera" count.
