As long as Airtags don't cost 129 euro each, are rechargeable and don't require a subscription, I'm in.
Why in the hell would you be "holding out" for a new Apple TV? There is nothing that the current model cannot do that you could possibly expect from it.Yes please. I’ve been holding out for a new Apple TV For some time now!
I mean, you could say that about a lot of 4 year old tech, but people aways want the latest and greatest technology to future proof their investment. Me included.Why in the hell would you be "holding out" for a new Apple TV? There is nothing that the current model cannot do that you could possibly expect from it.
Every time "new Apple TV" comes up, people always try the "gaming" angle when talking about it.
It. Is. Not. Happening. This is not a gaming platform, not one that has any serious attention from the gaming industry, or gamers. It has Apple Arcade. That's the level of gaming you can expect. You don't need an A14 powered Apple TV for that.
The first gen were announced at the iPhone event in 2016.New AirPods Pro ever released during an Apple event?
They should've merged the HomePod and Apple TV long ago.Still expecting a new HomePod with Apple TV capabilities.
They need to bring innovation ASAP before people continue to cash their stock.
Apple will hold its first event of the year on March 23, according to information provided by a reputable Chinese leaker (via DuanRui). Apple is expected to launch AirTags, new iPads, and possibly updated AirPods at a spring event, and leaker "Kang" believes that date will be March 23.

Initial speculation pointed to an event happening on March 16; however, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman shot down the possibility, leaving the door open for an event later on in the month. Kang says that Apple's event will be held on the same date as the OnePlus 9 reveal, which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 23.
Due to the global health crisis, Apple's event is expected to be held digitally and live-streamed via its website and official YouTube channel. March 23 and March 30 are both reasonable guesses for when Apple is set to hold an event. Apple tends to hold events on Tuesday and is also expected to hold an event in the "early spring" to coincide with the launch of App Tracking Transparency in iOS 14.5.
Official details about Apple's event remain unknown. However, mounting evidence of the imminent release of AirTags suggests Apple's Tile-like tracker could debut at the rumored March 23 event. DigiTimes, and others, have also suggested Apple will release updated iPad models with mini-LED displays and faster processors in the first half of the year.
Shortly after Kang suggested the March 23 date, YouTube personality and hit-or-miss Apple leaker Jon Prosser tweeted "23," in an apparent show of support for Kang and his event date prediction.
Last year, Kang was first to accurately reveal that Apple planned to revive the MagSafe brand for iPhone 12, and also leaked accurate details and launch dates for the full iPhone 12 lineup and the rumored HomePod mini before they were officially announced.

I dunno, never say never. Kids today are growing up on touch screens. The time I took my sister shopping for a laptop she looked at the iMacs and the first instinct she had was to touch the screen.MacBooks are not getting touch screens. Ever. Touch screens on laptops are used until your arms hurt, and then not her again. And tell my wife about giving up her iPad for a laptop. You know how much she cares for a more powerful processor? Nothing.
I think your reasons for not having touchscreens on Mac are correct, gnasher, but I think Apple will add a touchscreen option at some point. Here's why: Intel and Microsoft keep loudly pushing touchscreens for Windows as a competitive advantage over Mac. As a result, more and more RFPs (requests for proposals) from institutions will require touchscreen. What are Apple's choices here? Sue every government and institution that requires touchscreens? Stop bidding on government contracts? Or, simply, offer a touchscreen option? Apple already has the tech, they're making bigger touch targets in macOS, so why NOT offer a touchscreen laptop? Apple customers have money. I suspect half their customers would pay $100 more for a laptop with a touchscreen (and then would seldom/never touch the screen).MacBooks are not getting touch screens. Ever.
I agree. The cheap 4K displays being sold now could make me go blind. Apple's 4K and 5K displays are so easy on the eyes, I can look at them all day. I would love for Apple to sell its 27" 5K as a standalone display. Doesn't matter if it costs $500 more than the low-contrast competition.Show me a decent 22" 4K monitor or a decent 27" 5K monitor and I will give you my money.
A = aPhone? aPad?
A = aPhone? aPad?
Maybe the A series CPUs were originally used the nomenclature A to signify a Apple branded CPU. Later decided not to change its nomenclature when it went into more products. The other Apple CPUs nomenclature kind of makes sense. Of course I am just speculating here.
A series - iPhones, iPads, AppleTV
S series - Apple Smart Watch
H series - AirPods Headphones
M series - Mac Computers
Without referencing the physical size or PPI a resolution is meaninglessness.
This is why people want Apple to “make” displays again: Apple specifically sells displays with ideal PPI for macOS.
The vast, vast majority of available displays are much lower PPI than what Apple uses for the displays it sells. If you think running a 4K display so physically large it has a PPI around 130 is “the best possible interface” then I’m not really surprised you don’t see the point of an “Apple” display.
but... but I want a fancy M1 or whatever iMac!

This. Very much this.Show me a decent 22" 4K monitor or a decent 27" 5K monitor and I will give you my money.
I do not necessarily want an Apple monitor, but there is currently no monitor that satisfies my wants and needs available, at any price, except the XDR. (Cut the chin off a 5K iMac, remove the computer, and sell it to me for $1500 and I would not be unhappy.)
