I don’t think that Apple leather case will provide any better FRONTAL protection……but that is why we have Ceramic Shield.

Thank you for the pictures. Are the metal components (ring around camera and side buttons) much lighter in colour compared to the leather or is it just picking up a lot of reflection?
I posted in another thread, but I’ve had it a little over a week. Put it in my pocket, throw it in my purse…the thing I love about the case with the Sierra Blue is, and you can see it in a couple of the pictures, in some lights the camera area almost looks lavender when you have the case on, and then the next minute it’s bright blue again.
The metal components are mostly just picking up light. The ring and buttons are more vibrant in direct sunlight but totally subdued indoors. They have that metallic look to them. I think it works pretty well.

This is my brown Decoded case that’s been in use launch day. If the case is thicker than an Apple case it’s not by much but the screen is definitely recessed more on the Decoded. It really hasn’t shown much age to it yet but it doesn’t seem like it will patina like last years Apple cases did. MagSafe magnets are also super strong so no need to worry there.

This is easily the best looking forced patina I've seen.
Agreed. I took the route of removing the finish and then using creams for my 12pm case, but didn't look as good as this.

Correct, this is a great patina and I am inclined to think that this has to do with the old sock and the kind of oils it contained. @roccobladr How much for shipping that old sock to anyone interested?

The more I see Dark Cherry, the more I like it. I am, I think, in love with the colours this time. Dark Cherry is amazing, Wisteria looks great, Sequoia Green looks regal. I bought Golden Brown because I wanted something closest to Saddle Brown, and am constantly telling myself to not buy all colours, but I know I might end up buying at least the Dark Cherry more. And may be, just may be, the Green too. Wisteria is a little low on the desire quotient, though it looks great, too. Dang..
I think it was likely @Apple_Robert who said he was glad to have upgraded his 12 mini to the 13 mini only to have these amazing colours. How right he was. I share that sentiment.
Apple leather fits well. Corners don’t pop out. It appears to be a different leather than last years
As for protection it has a small lip around the front which could have been bigger. The lip around the camera on the back is good

Just got a Decoded leather case for my iPhone 13 mini. What do you all think about using leather cases during workouts at the gym? I forgot I tend to kick my phone around and drop them from knee height (and cushioning the fall with my foot), when purchasing the case.
Anyway of posting pics of the 13 mini decoded case? I have that one on my short list but want to see how it looks other than the website pics. Thx!

i think the colours themselves are nice, but hold firm that none of them seem to have been designed with the flagship Sierra Blue in mind, which when you have always preferred leather, it’s a bit of an issue. The colours themselves are nice, make no mistake - I just find them hard to match it up with SB. In other words, if you pick a neutral phone like Graphite or Silver, you have a decent selection of colour choices but with Sierra…. No. Golden Brown and Sequoia Green are examples of this - nice colour but too much contrast with the blue. Wisteria and Dark Cherry fare a bit better with purple being closer to blue, but Cherry has too much red in it for my liking and Wisteria, have never been a fan of that light purple shade (Why’s this a fall colour and the darker Deep Violet was a Spring colour?) . And Midnight is the best, or if better said, least worst choice in my opinion as ‘you can’t go wrong with black’ and it has some dark blue hues in it anyway.
Meanwhile over at the Silicone Case side, they have two really fantastic options to match SB with either Blue Jay or Abyss Blue, which I think I’ll have to pick either one as my starting case. I’m really hoping in Spring Time, which is the only time during an iPhones flagship cycle it gets new leather case colours, they fix it up and give the SB some nice matching leather case colours it deserves. 11 Pro and 12 Pro had matching leather cases for their flagship phone colours from the get-go, so there’s really no excuse why there shouldn’t be for the 13 Pro either. Pro phone deserves a pro looking case imo
Maybe it’s the lighting but the golden brown reminds me of the saddle brown from the iPhone 6s days
I just received my Navy Decoded leather case as well. Noticed the volume buttons are uneven on mine and on the lock button side, the leather is already creased up from pressing it a couple of times. Are any of these happening on yours?
Wow, I thought this was photoshopped at first glance. The tiny camera cutout looks so strange and the higher Apple logo just looks off nowadays.
