Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

The most important factor for me is thinness. The Keyway is thicker than Apple. It's not a lot but it's noticeable. I've added my Orange iPhone 14 Pro Max for comparison purposes.

First impressions are the leather looks good, MagSafe seems strong. I have received some DMs about the Charcoal, it's more or less black. I wanted Slate but it was sold out.

Will try it out today and give a more in depth review in a few days. Let me know if you have any questions.

Been using my Keyway Whiskey for almost a week and it's been pretty solid.

Pros:
  • Leather quality is great.
  • Fit is perfect. Feels incredibly snug.
  • MagSafe is strong.
  • Weight is heavier than Apple leather. My Apple 14 Pro Max came in at 32G, the Keyway is 37G.
  • Price was great. Paid $110 CDN for 2 with express shipping.
Cons:
  • The 'X' - sigh. I have no idea why they did this. It's not like anyone will see it and head to their website.
  • I wanted Slate but it was sold out. I offered to pay for it upfront and have them ship it to me when available (to take advantage of the over $100 free shipping offer) and they said no can do. Not a huge deal but I was surprised they wouldn't take an upfront payment.
Overall very happy with the purchase. I will be ordering from them again next year for the iPhone Ultra :)

The "X" doesn't bother me a whole lot. I just wish it sat lower so it was flush with the leather. Its not a big deal, just a minor annoyance. Overall I love the Keyway. It smells great, feels great in hand and in my opinion is aging nicely without it being too quick like some cases do. I can honestly say I prefer this over the Bullstrap I had before.

Would anyone be interested in purchasing RL saddle brown for 15PM? And would I be allowed to link to an ebay listing?

Used for a week and realized I prefer dark brown.

Don’t want to ship back to the UK from US, so going to sell at a loss as I’ve learned that the patina for this type of leather won’t darken the way the old Apple leather cases used to patina.

Just got the YMW crazy horse in brown like a few others, and first impression is good! The fit is pretty snug, and the leather is super soft. Buttons are very tactile as well.

I’ll need to find a product that stops color bleed, but that’s acceptable for a $25 case for me at least.

I had one of these pre-ordered and ended up canceling after the second time it was delayed. I ended up with a Sienna Bullstrap. Is the Satchel and Page the same thickness? It looks like the camera bump might interfere with some MagSafe accessories on the Satchel and Page because it’s not thinner on the bottom of the camera cutout, unlike the Bullstrap. What do you think about the buttons. I am not going to get one in addition to my Bullstrap, but I’m curious how they compare.

Why do leather case makers (with the exception Bullstrap) seem to think people only want black and brown? One of the nicest things about the Apple leather options is they came in a wide range of colors. Really disappointing for those of us who aren’t brown case people.
