IMHO, it's *the best* zombie game ever made. Period.

Do not blaspheme.

Do las plaga count as Zombies? ;)

But yeah I'm with you... If you can compare a single player game to a multiplayer focused one - which you can't really.. Apples and oranges. No collection is complete without both!

I bought the double pack because it's such a great deal. I figure that if I can get similar performance as I got from Killing Floor, I'll be more than satisfied. And it'll be fun messing around in GMod with the zombies anyway.

I bought the bundle. It seemed rude not to...

Now I've just got to wait until the server isn't being hammered.

Rats!

:(

Yup. The first game is a lot more tense and precise. L4D1 and 2 are very different games. It's like comparing a tense Hitchcock thriller to one of those modern slasher/horror films.

I agree 100% with this. L4D1 was awesome with the timing and environment. You got sucked in by the characters and filled in the blanks in the story with your imagination. The interactions and voice acting are superb. Not perfect, it had its issues, but you could really imagine yourself in a zombie apocalypse.

L4D2 has the interactions/voice acting/new environments/different AI, etc. It should have been even better, however, it didn't really catch me as much as L4D1. It may be better for the new players since you get both at the same time (and not separated by so much time like I had).

A bit unrelated. Remember horror movie rules! After playing a bit with a variety of players, you definitely will be able to tell who will die in the zombie apocalypse.

bought the single L4D2... perhaps i should have gotten the bundle...

any chance to change?

-buyers' remorse-

Did something else get released today or are we MAc users disproving the "Mac Users don't play games' stereotype by crashing the steam servers?

alternatively, maybe there will be another promo when L4D Mac is out by Halloween...

I bought the bundle (great deal!) but at the rate it's downloading from Steam's overloaded servers I think I'll be lucky if it finishes by Halloween.

Also, although L4D1 is not yet playable on the Mac the Steam client does download the game L4D1 game content. I paused that so I could finish L4D2 first.

anyone had success "refunding" a just-bought game to go for the bundle. feeling really foolish not to get the bundle GAH

Refunds

"As with most software products, we will not offer refunds for purchases made online as outlined in the software license - please review Section 4 of the Steam Subscriber Agreement for more information."

Performance here has been great. :D Just played through The Sacrifice with a friend, the finale is hilarious. Didn't really notice much of a performance hit compared to Windows.. If there was one it didn't adversely affect gameplay.. And I didn't even bother closing Photoshop and what I was working on. :)

So yeah, I'm pleased as punch with this! I'm actually a little surprised how smoothly this is running for it's first Mac version and despite the "bad drivers".

Any super laggy glitches may be the servers if you're playing online.. Certainly tonight i couldn’t get high performance out of the servers I tried and ended up hosting my own, which ran much much smoother.

I bought the bundle for 10 bucks. Despite the fact that I own both for xbox, I still think that's a bargain.

What are you like 5? I'm tired of this let's think of the children crap.

You have to realize that there are people who visit this website that are not adults. I am an adult. If you have children, I would think you'd have enough morality to not want them visiting this site and seeing that material staring them in the face.

It looks like someone took the high ground and changed the pic on the home page.

In all fairness, do you really think that 5 year olds visit this site? How about 8 year olds? 10? Anything above that should, and most likely does, know what violence is. If you don't feel comfortable letting your children see this kind of stuff, then you should police the internet (as any reasonable parent would) while your kids are on, because trust me, the internet can get a WHOLE lot worse than a L4D picture. Again, I say this sincerely.

Perfect timing; I only finished reading The Walking Dead Compendium a few nights ago and this game will certainly scratch my badly infected zombie itch. Too bad the Steam servers did not let me download it this morning.

For some reason the game available for me to purchase was the 'Low Violence Version.' Is this the version for markets like Australia and Germany?

Disappointment. 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 6GB RAM... and an Intel GMA X3100 *facepalm* Oh well. I love the black MacBook anyway.

Luckily I've got an old dual 3.6 Xeon Windows tower stuffed in my closet, so I'll still get to have some fun. I'm interested, though. The system reqs. don't even mention the GMA. I mean, naturally, it's a GMA--even if it does run, it will likely be pointless. I kind of want to see if it will even fire up, though. Anyone tried or have other knowledge of this?
