Hmm, interesting. I didn't realize I wasn't interested in the two 5c's that are on their way to me right now on a UPS truck( or trucks - they actually appear to be on two separate trucks, good job UPS! That's efficiency!) I was pretty excited about getting my and my wife's 5c's today, but now that I read this, it appears that I'm not supposed to be. What to do, what to do?

I got a C (31-yo married man). I think it looks better than the two-tone glass/metal S. I'm excited for how minimalist my white backing will look with os7; not sparkly or reflective. Not faux-gold.

And because I'm an adult, I have no need for a phone with many specs that cater to 3d gaming. My 4s is plenty fast for what I did with it. But you all go ahead with whatever you think about these two phones.

The pink really is a beautiful colour.

If I saw a man with the pink iPhone I would be all over him ;)

the home button on my 5S feels like jony ive pulled it out of a grocery store gumball machine.

Kinda wish i went with a C, just a little. Hopefully the 6 gets rid of the home button altogether. The tactile click is what bothers me the most about this one, it just feels terrible and sounds like its about to break. I feel like the home button could have just been a SS ring inlayed into the glass with the fingerprint sensor embedded behind it and accomplished the same thing with better aesthetics. This is just my initial reaction, i've had the phone half the day so far and so far the home button is my sole complaint (but a reasonably large one).

Yep, no interest in the 5Cs. Heh. Get real. Apple will surely be whining about their next new problem: they're gonna need steel-reinforced polycarbonate wagons to carry all that 5C revenue to their banks.

I'm pretty sure the C is for "Child". The 5c will start selling around Christmas as a "cheap, $99" gift for the children of well-off parents who would rather spend $100 less on an item they won't even be using and aren't concerned with or aware of resale values of phones. Their kids won't care. It's an iPhone! *OOOoooh!*. They'll probably have to lower the non-contract price and waive the $99 at cell stores to try to move them when sales die down after the holidays. The resale value of the 5C is where the "cheap" we were hoping for will factor in - probably not for another 6 months or so though.

I waited for the 5c hoping I'd be able to get an ios phone at a reasonable non-contract price, but I had to switch to Android. $550++ for a 16gig non-contract phone is too much and I'm tired of paying $80 a month and then having to spend $200 to upgrade the phone every two years anyway (vs. continuing to pay $80 a month for a phone that's already paid for). I just paid $250 for a great 32gig phone unlocked and I'll only be paying from $30-40 a month for service. $1010+ saved over two years. You lost me on mobile devices Apple, for now anyway.

No doubt the home button feels different to the 5. Both mine and my wife's make a more high-pitched click. Definitely doesn't feel as solid, but it works.

The 5c is a definitaly beautyfull phone!

The snobbish aversion towards is realy rediculous. It reminds mem of the never ending Android vs iPhone discussion. "But Android has x features more per $" So ********** what?!

In fact, i think the only people who complain loudest are cheap fandroids who wanted to jump on to the iOS train since they've heard rummors about a cheap iPhone. The 5c. And now that they realized, they still can't afford it, they are pissed and try to spoil it to others.

The 5c is just a slightly improved and design variated 5. So why should it cost less than what the iPhone 5 would have costed if it wasn't discontinued. Because plastic is so cheap you deserve an extra discount? Sure..

The ones who dislike the plastic shell, never have held a 5c in their own hands. It's an extrodinary feeling! It's heavy, feels very solid and seems to be prety scratch resistant. It feels like a single piece. No squeaking, even if you realy try to press it. No giving in. The haptics are very nice. For sure, the most pleasant feeling phone I've tried. It feels more like ceramics, like a review pointed out. That's true but at the same time it feels more sturdy and less fragile and never as cold as metal or ceramics can get.

It's a class of its own. And I'm sure it will sell very well. Even more after people have seen and held it themselves.

People get the iPhone for the user experience, and for the unparallelled fit and finish. Selling last years phone in an inferior casing for today's price isn't what anyone at all was hoping for or expecting. Apple cut quality, but not the cost for the consumer, and as to be expected according to some, the consumers are to blame for not liking it. Unbelievable.

1) According to 100% of reviews, quality is strong. The fit and finish has been praised, and the phone includes iOS7, which is he same user experience as offered by the iPhone 5S (excepting the camera)
2) This was purportedly going to be a "low cost phone," but it includes specs that are basically just below phones that were released in the past couple of months (and which will be relevant for years).

The phone is actually higher quality than expected (Gruber expected an iPod touch with a cell radio)

Did you hold an iPhone 5c in your own hand, so that you can judge the fit and finish of it?

Again, what qualifies you to say it's inferrior?

Apple always sold the last year modell for 100$ less, it's exactly the same pricepoint as it was all the years before, except for the iPhone 5c now replaces iPhone 5. Don't know what you re complaining about. Would you rather have a castrated iPhone as long as the pricetag is low enough?

And I tell you after beeing sceptical myself, now I think it feels better than the iPhone 5 and probly the 5s. Go ahead and see it live then we'll talk.

After all it's a phone amongst 1000 other models. If you don't like it, don't complain, just buy the one you like or you think is superrior.

I can clearly say iphone 5c, feels and looks much better when your holding it, we sold out of the 5s about 11am (three) and started to Switch sell to the 5c, must say I changed my view about it once I held the phone.

So people will leave Apple for Android, particularly when an unprecedented step back in build quality is not accompanied by a significant drop in price. I had to. The 5c is just another insult to Apple's consumers. Companies are pumping out Android phones and tablets of similar quality with additional functions and selling them for less than half of the cost of a now also plastic Apple equivalent. I bought a 7" Android tablet for $270. The Apple equivalent - $400. The Android's resolution - 1920X1200 (1080p+). The iPad Mini - 1024X768 (>720p). Processing power - Android - 1.5ghz quad core. Apple - 1ghz dual core. Ram 2 gigs for Android and 512mb's for Apple. The list goes on. I'm just some cheap Android fanboy who can't afford an iPad Mini I guess. That or I'm not stupid enough to spend an extra $160 on an inferior device just so I can play Clash of Clans. I really wanted/want to stick with Apple as I like their OS and their app store much better, and their devices are usually nicer (even the 5C is nicer than most Android stuff, just not $350 nicer), but I just can't justify the added cost.

The is no lie. The 5C feels svelte. The overall build feels awesome and solid and not remotely creaky or cheap.

Well, I'm fully an adult, plenty tech savvy, and I just got myself a green 5c. It is very sleek and sturdy feeling, and those who have said it doesn't feel cheap are absolutely right. It's also bright and fun...adults can enjoy those qualities, not just children. I make calls, do a bit of texting, web browsing, an occasional time wasting game. I have other devices for more intensive things....this is perfect for me ;)

Because Resolution is everything! Or specs in general. If you think It's nice to have an unoptimized phone app strettched up to full HD, then go for it. If you appreciate the Apple-Way to do it then it is $350 nicer! Nobody claimed that Apple devices were cheap. Besides the idiot who pulled the rummor about the "cheap" iPhone out of his A.. So now that those high anticipations have been shattered all the people blame it on Apple. Blame it on that moron who claimed there would be a cheap iPhone.

If i was Apple I also would be insulted by such unjustified low-price-anticipations in spite of the high built quality of the 5c. Go check it before you talk about something you have no idea about.

I like the yellow and black. I don't care what detractors say, I like the 5C a lot

No, nor do I have a desire to. I'm sure it's very nice but I prefer the look and feel of metal and glass to plastics.
Again, what qualifies you to say it's inferrior?
My wallet and my eyes. Maybe inferior isn't the right word as high quality plastics aren't necessarily inferior as building materials to glass or aluminum - cheaper. Cheaper to manufacture and cheaper looking.

Yes but this is the first time they've put it in a cheaper case and sold it for only $100 less than the one with advanced features and is made of glass and aluminum. Apple's obviously cut manufacturing costs, overall quality (IMO and that of many others), and kept the price the same.

I think most people are missing what is absolutely wrong with the 5C and don't understand why some of us show so much concern.

The 5C is absolutely the opposite of what Jobs would've done. At least in his best years.

Apple line up has always consisted of: High-end product and a lower-spec convenient device.

Remember the iPods?? There was this big HDD iPod, and then different breeds of more portable, cheaper and with less capacity iPod line.

Remember the MacBooks?? A 13" cheaper policarbonate MB and the 15" and 17" high end aluminium.

Along came the MBA being ultraportable and expensive. Somewhere in the line it became the entry price computer replacing the white Macbook.

Then the iPad and the iPad mini. Not only the iPad mini is cheaper, but it serves a different function than the iPad.

Do you see the patron there? The iPhone 5C doesn't fit in.

Basically what Apple is saying is: We will sell you last year scraps, in a new beautifully colored enclosure, costing 84% of the current flagship while offering 50% the computing power. But not only that!! We will give you technology that we just announced we plan on killing in the mid term because we are moving to 64 bit. Furthermore instead of lowering the price of the 5C accordingly to the lowered manufacturing cost, we will rise our margins, because we think everyone is stupid!!

Why does this bother me?? Because I'm not quite sure people is smart enough to not get the 5C. The 5C will kill Apple in the long run if it is successful.

Instead of Apple lowering prices innovating, just like with the MacBook Air. They will go by the numbers, and rise margins by lowering manufacturing complexity, in which in some cases imply lowering quality. If Apple is successful enough, it will infect the high-end devices as well hindering innovations.

Bottom line is. Apple has suffered a biggest shift in its vision, than I thought.

Job's Apple: We will give you the best product in the world. We will innovate like no other company in the globe, but we will charge you accordingly and a bit more to keep on funding innovation.

Cook's Apple: We will try by all means to reduce our manufacturing costs. But we will still sell you expensive, because you know what? We don't sell cheap stuff. Innovation?? The market is all about iteration.

The iPhone 5C is Apple's first product in a DECADE or more, that brings absolutely nothing new to the table. Absolutely nothing!!!!

An Apple phone with a choice of coloured back is... um... it's... it's kinda new... is it not?!

Wow, some people here are just pathetic. 5C sucks because it's plastic? Grow up guys.

There's a good chance it will see VERY VERY well.

Your 100% right ! I couldn't agree more.
