The event was very very underwhelming! <sigh> Seems Munster is getting it right these days!

Everything was already out! Nothing new.....
Whats happening to Apple and its secrecy?

No arguments here

I believe the return of NBC and the gaming demos/positioning the touch as a gaming device is the big news of this presser. I think this event suffered from fanboy anxiety.

Totally, problem is that Apple went to the added effort of whipping up the fanboys, that's the head scratching part.

Now the iPods are out of the way - hope the rumours come in fast as to all the Mac updates that have been piling up.

The media is the one who made it out to be a big event. Apple just sent normal invites. The theme was "Let's Rock". They introduced some spiffy updates, gave us some previews, and then had some music playing. What more can you expect? You guys are overreacting.
Granted, Apple did claim it would be a "big deal," which was uncharacteristic for them.

Considering no 1.8" HDD is available in a 250GB capacity, they would have to use a 2.5" laptop HDD. So yeah, a 250GB iPod the size of a paperback book and about as heavy as a hardback.

Apple would sell em by the billions.

Not quite. Seagate make the 250GB hard drive that could be used.

Waste of time really....i dont know why Apple is making out these are big media events when they spend most of the presentation going on about the "genius" button in itunes! I mean the 2.1 update that every iphone owner on the planet is wanting is over with a short sentence!

Very poor steve, you're going to be losing customers soon.

this is really funny

I follow mac rumors for few years and this happens everytime there is some event.

First, it's hyped to heaven...

Then, people expect impossible..

Then, people realize that impossible haven't come and start complaining (worst sh*t ever!!!! etc)

and then, after few months, you will learn to live with that

remember macbook air? remember WWDC08 and 07? yeah.... the same all the time

Uhm, it was an IPOD event.

iPhones already had their huge event. You are seriously whining... Just like at WWDC, the iPods were barely mentioned besides the fact they get the updates too. If I remember right, they had to pay for them. iPhones get the Nike update and stuff for free.

You bet your ass I'm whining. The iPhone IS an iPod. Why shouldn't we get the features that are now default in the iPod touch and nano?

Not to mention that apple hyped this event as being special. Guess from now on we all know what that means. Iphone 2.1 is nothing bug bug-fixes, things that should have been set right in 2.0.xx. What a joke.

I've been following the Gizmodo live coverage and I think it's fair to say that they're not fans of "John F***ing Mayer"! :D

On topic: The Genius playlist feature in iTunes looks like something I'll be using regularly.

Lame, Way too hyped up, totally under-delivered. NBC probably made them hold a press conference just for their announcement.

Apple has sucked this summer :(

Apple only had to deliver one thing today: iPhone firmware update. They failed majorly. I don't care if it will be available Friday. People have been living with these problems for far too long.

Apple owes every iPhone 3G owner an apology.

2.1 firmware. What a let down. Nothing but bug fixes.

Not even one item from my wish list.

etc etc etc

Absolutely blows. 3rd event running that I've felt nothing but disapointment from. Apple keep causing a whole load of fuss about nothing, the press are going to lose interest big time, unless they start fulfilling some of the exciting, anticipated features.

Making the iPod nano environmentally friends and looking like it come from a Chinese market just doesn't cut it really.

Oh bloody well :)

Not quite. Seagate make the 250GB hard drive that could be used..

yah - that came out about a month after the 160 classic came out, so plenty of time to integrate. Some of us don't' strap ipods to our arms and run. my 'thick' classic is perfect ti sit with my at my desk all day...

I don't know why I bother reading this forum for the first 2 days after an event. It's a non-stop whine-a-thon, and it's getting old.
