Did your ever think about Market they don't own? Laptops? Seriously an upgrade or price drop would be nice to offset M$ new ads with Jerry. I have been waiting for a MB for about a year. This is total FAIL and I will still keep faith that sometime soon there will be a new MB. It's time to branch out and update something better than i-Pods

Lol. Trust me, I agree. I've been waiting for MB updates since May. But this was a specific iPod event. We'll have to wait awhile for our COMPUTER event. I think they can handle them all seperately and that its not right to get disappointed over an iPod event when we all know computers never would have been mentioned regardless... If you get disappointed about the iPods that's different. But it's whining when people get disappointed over iPhones and Macs when we all KNEW they wouldn't be featured...

If this is a big deal it probably means no new notebook redesigns until the next big event, MacWorld in January.

I can't see totally redesigned Macbooks and Pros coming out without a big event to back it given this one.

Sucks to live in Canada. All we get in terms of TV shows up here is South Park and The Daily Show. While they're not horrible shows, we get none of the big network shows. Damn I was excited when he announced HD TV shows, but remembered we won't be getting any of them. Other than that, I'll be picking up a new Nano for the gym. Glad I have my 160GB Classic already. And can't wait for iPhone 2.1, how sad is that! Other than that, lame event.

I think that's the only reason why I'm hesitant to move to Canada.

Maybe the ipod coolness is wearing off - i actually do like the new ipod nanos - i thought they should have introduced the shake and new design to the shuffles and the new layout to the ipod classic - don't want to shake that hard drive

I thought maybe these days it is just simpler to just release them at that time. I feel that i was expecting a bit more but then again it was kind hyped up a bit too much don't you think?

They're a publicly held company. Their job is to serve their shareholders. Missing the back-to-school sales == stock price down == Epic FAIL

Do you know ANYTHING about how apple does business? They didn't miss back to school, they moved TONS of iPods and macs with their promotion.

This is the exact same time apple announces new iPods every year. Clear out the old inventory with back to school sales and have the new ones ready early for the holiday season.

And yes, they have to please their stockholders. Which is probably EXACTLY why they dumped the 160, it would be incredibly stupid to keep a model that isn't selling, and there's no way they would have dumped it if it was a big seller.

Despite the unrealistic expectations (as always) and the whining (as always), the big question is whether these will sell, and we'll see that soon enough. So to cut through the whining, is there really ANYONE who thinks these won't sell like crazy?

On the canadian Apple store front page it says iPod Touch from 249$ but it's 259! Don't they check for those kind of errors lol?

Apple only had to deliver one thing today: iPhone firmware update. They failed majorly. I don't care if it will be available Friday. People have been living with these problems for far too long.

Apple owes every iPhone 3G owner an apology.

I completely disagree... what Apple has to deliver is a iPhone firmware that solves the problems. It's certainly better for the customers if it takes a couple of days longer but works than the other way around (today and it doesn't work properly).
