Dream on. At this rate.... it will be 2010. Or something on a Jailbreak. Jobs does not carer about what YOU want- he OBVIOUSLY knows better what YOU need.

they still work for audio on all models, including iphone 1G, it's the button dongle on the new ones that only works with the new models.:)

It is stupid cause my iPhone already has earphones with a button and mic on it already. How could the new one not work?

The Ipod Touch Refurbishe dunits went down by like 30% which is all i wanted cause i wont use the nike thing and the speaker will probaly blow out anyway so a 32gb for $319 and a 16gb for $240 also the 160 classic is $20 more than the new 120

I may be missing something but how useful would shake to shuffle really be? sounds like another feature that would never really be used... or maybe end up being a bother.

I am not moaning... it was just a thought, it may be amazing!

yeah, I replied on this just a second ago after I realized there WAS a button on the iphone headphones. It IS stupid!

Wall Street agrees that the "event" was boring.... stock took a header 10 minutes into the speech... and has stayed down. Down 5+ now.

now that wows me

kind of disappointed....

no wireless sync like the zune...nothing that blows my socks off. no itunes 8. i dont see a big reason to upgrade from my 8gb nano and 16 gb touch i have now. maybe i missed something.

oh well guess i will just continue to save for a new macbook to replace my 2.0 gb blackbook that i have now.

rockos

You do realize that apple announced this was a MUSIC event and nobody had ANY expectation that they would have any computer announcements at all, right?

Yes I do...Thats what makes it that much more puzzling. Apple just lost around 10% a share this week and M$ launches a new add. Apple is usually more agressive with their marketing. The MB hsa gone years with minimal upgades. They have changed the i-Pod touch twice within a year? Seriously...What does it take to figure priorities? 150 dollar i-pod or 1100-1400 dollar MB that has had minimal revisions for almost 2 years?...

He ALSO said the new Touch has the Nike Reciever built in...

from Gizmodo's live blog:

The iPod Touch has software 2.1, which includes Nike+ and Genius playlists. First-gen iPod Touch owners get a free update from 2.0, but if you haven’t, it’s $9.95 to 2.1 from 1.x. Updates are available today.

I took that as the software 2.1 containing all the necessary materials for Nike+ to work, but perhaps not?

If the software has all you need, would it be with the iPhone update too, then?
