"Nike+ integrated, with no transmitter needed, as well as on-the-fly genius playlist creation, all included in the new iPhone 2.1 software"

any word if the shake for shuffle will be implemented in the 2.1 iphone update?

I still don't understand why they dropped the 160GB iPod classic. Wouldn't it have been a better move to drop the 80GB and just have the 160GB?

Dropped $4 a share by the time the "event" ended.

Looks like the share holders are not amused.

Doesn't the stock price drop almost every time Apple announces everything? People always have expectations that are ridiculous and impossible to meet.

And then the new products sell like hotcakes and the stock price goes right back up. Happens every time.

Downloading iTunes now on both my mac and PC.

Where did you read that? someone else was saying that a receiver built into the device would be necessary to run it.

What are you talking about? What "new products"? They just upgraded the Nanos a bit and the iPod Touch a bit. THEY ACTUALLY DOWNGRADED THE iPOD CLASSIC FROM 160GB to 120GB. This is robbery.

Yeah, totally robbing us blind with our voluntary purchase of a product from a company! I own that 160GB iPod classic that I haven't yet bought. They owe me!

Maybe the 160GB wasn't selling well, so that is why they discontinued it? Maybe, just maybe...

Not at all. I thought the event was pretty good as well. Remember, it was an iPod/iTunes event....not Macworld. Why would people expect new computers or a new non-iPod device at an event clearly geared toward iPod/Tunes?

I thought the updates were great. I see an iPod Nano in my near future.

There's not much to be disappointed about regarding this event.....

Yes, it would be proper to expect something new in Music, not computers... no one is arguing that. But there was NOTHING new (music or otherwise), just recycled products, minor upgrades and a new coat of paint.

Nothing here at all...

Typo at Apple Website

I was checking out the new iPod Touch and found this:

"The funnest iPod ever." Someone needs to double check his/her work here.:p

I guess I heard it wrong... sorry- it sounded to me like there was a new hardware thingie in the touch!

Much ado about nothing

Most boring refresh I've seen in years.

New Nano, OK but not earth shattering
Touch, nice to see increased battery life and lower price
iTunes 8 (more like 7.X.X.1)

I would have been interested if they changed their music model (like adding subscriptions or all-you-can eat services).

I am just shocked that they pre-sold it as a "big deal".

Look what I saw in the iTunes store just now...

I think they planned to release 2.1 today but some last minute glitch stopped them...
