Well, I had but about 90 minutes to help my son setup the LG display in his office this morning. Photos below show the activities etc.
There's a lack of instructions and what there is, is mostly in Korean

with the odd line in English

. There's no Thunderbolt cable.

There's a web site for getting help and the welcome letter is encouraging saying they're there to help. :roll eyes:
It is well packed and there was no damage seen anywhere. The display can be angled forward and backwards about 10º to 15º and it has 4 VESA bolt holes on the back along with a paper template for this as well.
The display is handsome IMO, and because of its 21:9 its height is not objectionable.
There were no instructions describing how best to connect the display to the MP6,1 and to what Thunderbolt Bus/Port would be best for it to connect to.
The power cord's native end is for Korean wall sockets and an adapter is provided for US wall sockets... thank goodness.
Without instructions finding where the displays power button was not obvious. After a few moments it was found at the base of display. It's a toggle lever. Pressing it powers on the display. The toggle feature allows easy navigation to to on screen menus.
Hooked a USB2 keyboard to the "USB IN 1" marked port and that worked AOK.
It was a bit of trial and error to figure out what Thunderbolt ports to be used as there was a TV, a 20" ACD/DVI and the LG display to hook up.
To cut a short story even shorter this is what worked...
1) TV attached to MP6,1's HDMI port on Bus 0.
2) 20" connected via DVI-to-MDP to Bus 1, port 1
3) LG display connected via Thunderbolt cable attached to Bus 2 port 2
4) 4x 6TB LaCie 2big daisy chained off MP6,1's Bus 1, port 3 along with a 5-bay Burly Port Multiplier eSATA enclosure connected to the last LaCie 2big via Sonnet adapter and Sonnet Express|34 card.
The LG display is fabulous to view, text is very clear, Dock icons are very sharp... (my first impressions). Had to raise it off the desk surface by about 2 inches to get optimum viewing height.
Son had some 4K content work he was doing for BMW Motorcycles and that played nicely. (a very quick review).
As an aside, as we were playing around with figuring out Thunderbolt ports to connect things to we did so while the MP6,1 was running and we encountered at least 2 system crashes. I attribute this to messing around too much with cable connections etc.... that is, plugging and unplugging connectors.
I left son to play some more with things, get online to find an 'English speaking operations manual', and to ask where his promised present was lurking after being so patient waiting for this display to arrive.
Oh... there was a disk containing software, so son will examine that to see if there's a manual on that, plus any other useful goodies.
If you have questions about this display you're welcomed to ask...
Here are a few photos I managed to take amidst doing things.
