Likelihood we will get to pre-order the WHITE iPhone 4 TOMORROW?

Right about what? Saying it was 50/50? That's incorrect, and it's a common misconception of statistics. Just because something has two possible outcomes, does not mean it's 50/50. It's only 50/50 if the odds of it happening are exactly equal to the odds of it not happening. Otherwise it's some other proportion like 80/20 or 1/99.

Here's an example, say you're free-falling from 1500 feet with no parachute. When you hit the ground, there are only two possibilities; You live, or you die. Would you say you have a 50/50 chance of surviving? No, because the probability of you dying is much higher. In real-life, almost nothing has an exactly equal chance of happening. Unless you're talking about a "heads" on a coin-flip or "evens" on a dice-roll, saying "50/50" just because there's only two possible outcomes is almost always incorrect.

If they've been building the phones since April (earliest date I've seen on an iPhone 4 barcode) then that means there may be as little as 6,000 white iPhones in existence right now.

If that's the case, we won't see ANY online orders. In fact, AT&T, Best Buy, Radioshack, Walmart, etc. probably won't see white phones, either. With 6,000 phones, Apple would only have enough stock to ship 30 phones to each Apple store (as they have about 200 stores, worldwide). If they keep it to a US launch, that's less than 50 phones per store.

haha if they only had 6000 to ship out, they wouldn't even bother releasing it yet.

It would have been 50/50 if Apple came out and said that there is a 50/50 chance that we are going to announce pre-orders tomorrow. :D
 
where can you check daily for the release of the white iphones? and will there be a way to order it without contract or are we forced to use the interface on apple.com that locks us into a contract?

You can only get no contract phones from an Apple Store. You can't get them online at Apple.com. You'll have to line up the day of release (whenever that is).
 
Well considering what SJ said at the press conference about them updating the site to accommodate for the free bumpers late this week, im betting thursday or friday tbh.

Although I prefer to wait in line anyway :]

BTW, as to all the flaming of the OP, theres really no need, its a rumors forum, and hes just speculating based on past events, :/

You missed part of the original article. Each machine can do three per hour. Not three per hour for the whole company. :eek:

Now the question is how many machines do they have? One? I doubt it.
 
I wrote a script to check the apple store every 15 minutes to see if the white iphone is for sale....if it is, it sends me a txt message. :)
 
I was thinking of doing something similar. The wait is killing me.

People keep saying that about this effect that I can only classify as, insignificant.

Its not like a movie theater effect is happening just because its a black border.

I would much rather get the girls' attentions with the white.

it is because black border is more immersive when watching movies...isn't a valid argument though because who actually watches movies on their iphones? i'd venture to guess a pretty small amount of people.

Oi I do!!

My new gym dosent have screens on the cross trainer so I have to watch vids on my iPhone. Currently have the 3GS but want the white.

I do find that the black edges around the screen of my 3GS does make it immersive. I hope the White is the same

then for you and those of you that also watch movies on their phones i would without a doubt say to not get the white as it will be a tad distracting when watching movies.
