The only advice I have for you is to wake up like 4AM tonight to check if its available for 'order'. There is going to be no pre order, it's simply going to be a "Order" that says Ships ____. If there was a pre order, I believe Steve Jobs would have mentioned it at the conference, as he know that there are a number of customers who are waiting for the white iPhone 4.

I think that they will start up preorders for white iPhones 4 on Friday/Saturday/Sunday because those days are the end of the week. Why I am talking about end of the week? - because Jobs said that they will announce refund program for bumpers and they want to make that every iPhone 4 will come with case. It will be a method for them do avoid so much complains about reception and antenna problems.
I already got yelled at for mentioning the possibility of purchasing a black one and then returning for a white one.. Thread nazis.
i thought about doing that, but it seems at this point, it owuld take 3 weeks to get the black on, and the white one may be available this week.. So they might arrive at the same time
Personally I hope that they will start taking orders not tomorrow but the day after tomorrow, because my money at credit card is locked, and will be released on friday due ordering and than cancelling order for black iP4. (funny thing is that I decided to order a black one, one more time ;P - I will order both, and will take white one, and sell black one)

doubt they will be doing pre orders at all, there arent enough in supply.

Apple have no reason to offer pre orders, the black is already available and im pretty sure they know the whites will sell out day 1.

Because it's rude. And you're immature. That's why people get mad. You couldn't patiently wait like the rest of us and denied somebody else the chance to get an iPhone because you had to have yours right then.
Now, you're going to return your now used iPhone and possibly deny somebody an iPhone again - somebody that waited patiently unlike you.
You and everyone else returning a black for a white need to grow up. Attitudes like yours are what's wrong with people.
Apple is going to have to sell the white ones online at some point. Don't see the point in a retail-only release.
i agree, these folks who have got the black because they could not wait and now want to swap to a white are nothing more than impatient spoilt little brats
I would be surprised if they were available for ordering this week because I do believe they want to minimize exchanges between the black and the white. Even if its a small percentage its still a percentage of profits that they are missing out on especially if there are limited quantities. I also think this week they are preoccupied with all the free bumper/case issues but hopefully when they make an announcment about that they will also mention the ordering/release date for the white.

According to the guy at the Millenia Mall Apple Store, there'll be a priority list for white... I'm assuming all the people who will be getting up at 4am don't have an apple store close to them?
Any chance of Tesco having any available online? Or will they just be available from Apple on launch day?

Pretty sure hostile and hateful people are worse for the world than my "OMG I'M KILLING A KITTEN" act of swapping a black phone for a white.
Assuming wrong. Priority lists will not start until hours after the white is available for order online, mark my words. I wouldn't be too surprised if it appears tonight. Thursday is considered later in the week and Apple could kill two birds with one stone, allowing people who order the white units to choose their free bumper or free case at the same time, makes perfect sense to me. And it would probably ship within 3-5 days is my guess, so they could package them all and ship them out
I agree. I hope anyone returning a black for a white has a bitch of a time actually obtaining one. I think apple should not let black returns purchase a white on that account until all models are readily avaiable. And in reality, no preorders or priority lists will take place IMO, my local apple store told me ( was just asking don't even want white) that when they are released it would be in- store only at first, first come, first serve. I hope all you returning thinking you will get a white one right away have to wait weeks to actually grab one.

I feel the same way about the people that said they had zero problems with their phone and will be the first in line for a free case.
I'm okay if I have to wait a couple weeks. I wanted a white from the get go but wanted to play with an iPhone 4.
On a second note, I have 6 lines with iphones on them... 2 of which are eligible every 12 months for upgrade, other 4 are every 18 months... so regardless I get the newest iphone next year on release day as well.

LOL! Easy there hoss. Its a phone. Apple clearly stated that if you are not happy with the device for ANY reason to bring it back.
everytime you hit refresh on apple.com its like the lottery; there is this brief moment of excitement and then disspointment....
