limera1n - ALL 4.1 devices jailbroken!

I am on a Macbook Pro running boot camp and I cannot get it to work. I have iTunes installed in windows. Ran limera1n and it said that it completed successfully, I rebooted my iPhone 4 and there isn't a limera1n icon any where. I tried it about 8 times. I also tried my iPad with the same results. My iPhone was purchased with 4.0.1 then updated to 4.1.

Does it now work in boot camp? I am running Windows 7 on a Macbook Pro under Bootcamp.
 
its acting out on my iphone 4 .... sometimes icons r suddenly out of the folder and now my folder full of games just vanished and the other one just shows a black screen grrr why did i have to attempt this at 3 am

Well the Chronic Dev Team have said they're working to integrate this exploit into greenpois0n. That will benefit from all the testing they've put the rest of the tool through. Then we won't have to use limerain to jailbreak, as anyone burned by blackrain will be timid to do.
 
I think newbies will still go for it but Im not touching it.
Im fine with my 4.0.1 and waiting for a proper Dev Team release;)

Sorry to hear that. You really should have waited. Geohot's tools are notorious for being buggy. Just look at all the blackra1n users that were forced to Restore.

Hope you can get it sorted out. :(

Same here. There are already reports of problems with apps in folders from being discussed in the other thread.

I'll wait for someone who cares about releasing a proper tool more than snatching the glory. It sounds like it may only add a few more days anyway.

The good thing about the iPhone 4 is that it restores and syncs a lot faster so it shouldn't be that much of a bother.
 
Well said, it is buggy and was rushed out to beat Greenpoison by a day.
It doesnt even work with new bootrom 3GS iphones yet.
The Dev team and Chronic Devs are pissed.

All i said was that it was unstested and half working, the Limerain/Blackrain app doesn't even deinstall itself you have to manually remove it.

I got it to work. I needed to update iTunes. I was running iTunes 9.1.1 in Windows. I installed the latest version of iTunes and it resolved the issue. Worked perfectly on an iPhone 4 v4.1 and iPad 3.2.2.
 
Worked perfectly in Windows 7 64-bit with my 4.1 iPhone 4. Took perhaps 3 minutes to get from boring retail to Cydia up and running. Awesome!
 
Don't have time to read through the comments, but last night I finally upgraded to 4.1 using tiny umbrella so my basebands been preserved, then today i took the chance and used limera1n and it worked without issue. Everythings been working just as it was on 4.0.1, and all my cydia apps appear well to(mywi, my3g, bitesms beta and so on..). Nice to have game center and HDR finally.
 
Doesn't work on my iPod Touch 4...I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I put it into DFU mode and it says "In DFU mode..." on limerain and doesnt do anything. Let it sit for like 10 mins...just unplugged it and tried again to no avail.
 
i was able to get this to work with no problems on my I4. I cannot get it to work on 2 different iTouchs, one has 4.0 the other 4.1. both are recognized by limera1n but when it reboots into recovery it does not show the limera1n image.

These are the original iTouch models. it should work on these right ?

anyone else had an issue with this

EDIT: just hooked up one of these iTouchs' to tinyumbrella and it shows as an Itouch2G which is not in the supported list. I think this is my problem. maybe it will become supported in the future.
 
Limera1n worked on my iPhone4 and I used my Bootcamp partition for Windows. I'm running Windows 7 Pro. I had to restart the phone after installing Cydia in order for Cydia to show up as well as for the limera1n icon to show its green drop. Finally I truly own my iPhone4, up til now Apple's just been leasing it to me :)
