dude the jailbreak works flawlessly there is no bugs at all.. The only downside is waiting for the jailbreak apps to be updated to 4.1. Even musclenerd defends geo. Saying if geos jailbreak could jailbreak all IDevices then hes should be used.

Ahh.. That makes sense.. I guess the way I was reading and comprehending the debate was that the exploits were firmware based (using the PDF exploit like Jailbreakme used).

So when i got my new ipad some weeks ago.
It had 3.2.2
Now. a week ago installed 4.2 beta 2 on my ipad. 3 days ago, i did a full restore from DFU, and installed 3.2.2.
Now i am on 3.2.2. I dont know how JB works, but why isnt the JB working on my ipad?
BTW. im using a computer that cant power the ipad true the usb port . However, windows notices when the ipad gets connect.
Would appreciate any help so much.

And then you could just restore, not that big of a deal if things don't work exactly as they should but for me, everything has been just fine so far with all Cydia apps I've installed.
go back to Limera1n.com and read GeoHots own post, he is working on already known bugs, you don't have to believe me or anyone on twitter, just read the developers own post.
All i said was that it was unstested and half working, the Limerain/Blackrain app doesn't even deinstall itself you have to manually remove it.
Half working? Don't you think that's a bit of a stretch? It's working perfectly, at least so far.
Yes there are bugs but they are so minor that they don't even matter.

Uninstall in limera1n app doesn't work, you can just delete the blackra1n.app directory, i need regression testing: Easy to do with SSH. If you don't know how to SSH, you probably shouldn't be dealing with jailbreaking anyway
you are proving my point, half way done and untested, those are such a stupid bugs that should not make it to a public releas, those bugs should have been seen way before the software is public, IMO, if he missed those simple ones, the more complex could be easily present.
The big sell point here was "all devices"...all of the sudden the 3GS is out.... that makes it Half way done
iPod touch 4. No problems, (I played around with Winterboard customizing) except I had to restart to get Cydia. How hard is restarting? You have to restart to get the Cydia apps anyways
Agreed. It's really not that big of a problem. I'm just waiting for an OS X version as I have no access to Windows.
I went from 4.0.1 to 4.1 iPhone 4 using limera1n so far no problems. I used APT backup to restore some of my cydia apps.
The only problem I had during the jailbreak was that my phone got stuck in DFU mode but running TinyUmbrella and kicking the device out of DFU mode took care of that.
I think this time around I will spend the $5 and get a better backup app in cydia.

jailbreakme.com was worked on forever and it patch one thing wrong that most wouldnt see.
blackra1n wasnt seen until a few days after cause the apps that used the os deeply weren't updated yet and when they were they didnt work.
stop thinking everything is just peachy fine. also this is geohot. everything he releases is extremely buggy till updated 20 times.

I'd be surprised if it didn't work under virtualization, I've always ran them under VMWare and never had any issues. Parallels should be fine though I've never tested it there.

Yeah, this is simply as waste of an exploit, plain and simple. Also, if it is buggy as claimed, most wont even bother with it.
After seeing the Chronic Dev Team talk about not releasing/burning a 2nd exploit for the future and having the end users in mind, I really feel like I need to make a donation. They work very hard on all these exploits and even though we complain, they deal with it and still release these exploits. I'm going to wait for GreenP0ison because I'm happy on 4.0.1 and a few days doesn't really matter to me for HDR and game center.
