I guess this has worked out alright, Shatter gets saved so only 1 bootrom expliot is used. I wish geohot didn't have to be such an ass about the whole thing though.

I don;t think "limera1n" is for the best, it going to be buggy and a lot of problems are going to surface. IT haven;t been property test. :(:(

LOL It already started it, 3GS new bootrom is broken

Norton anti-virus didn't like it:

I realise but hopefully comex can tweak limera1n to make it more stable. I'm not going near it until I know it's stable. It looks like the CDT are going to implement limera1n in greenpois0n release tomorrowl.

i was bored and i have a bum ipad 3.2.2 that is pending an exchange so i tested out limera1in. it works exactly like before. once jailbroken, you use limera1n to install cydia. after cydia finishes, delete limera1n.

from the debate of it, it seems all A4 devices are fine and older devices are buggy...

who knows...

Comex is not going to get anywhere close to it, they are modifying Greenposi0n to use the same bootrom exploit to save SHAtter for later. Limera1n is all Geohot and that little prick is just going to patch it, patch it and patch it one more time until he decided he is tire and disappear

Makes sense, as (assuming the exploit is of the same class as SHAtter) only the "4" series devices (and iPad) have that particular bootrom which is vulnerable to these exploits. Older devices do not.

it didnt i just jailbreak my phone and it wasnt there.

You should see a limera1n icon. Click on that, and you get a link to install Cydia. I did need to reboot twice before Cydia showed up, but after that, it seems to be working without any problems so far. *knock wood*

I'll wait for comex Geo is a lil drama Queen who knows if he will release this buggy pos than decide to drop out again

How the hell can I update to 4.1? I'm still on 4.0.1., and when I try to update via itunes it says it can't. what the eff?

are we suppose to have the latest itunes install before doing it because i dont but the jailbreak went through and it said it was completed but yet i see no limera1n icon or cydia on iphone itself

This guys such a dick. Why does he show up at the very last minute and release a tethered jb? As chpwn said, now 2 bootrom exploits will be exposed within the space of a week.
I can't stand egohot.

What? Waste a exploit that only good for 1 generation of devices or release one that works for most all? Chronic is dumb for release a exploit before there are more devices that can make use of it. This is why geohot got pissed in the first place and I can't say I blame him. Burn SHAtter now and you will have a very small device list that can make use of it in the future.

Yes but comex was going to develop a userland JB for older gens based on the shatter exploit. This would of taken a while but it would of been stable unlike this heap of **** geohot just dropped.

TY for missing the point. Apple will fix shatter which leaves a very small window for devices that it will work on. Bootroms are forever if you can stay on a update train. Userlands are nice but are one hit wonders. It's all about the number of devices that a given exploit is going to benefit and you want this number to be as high as possible. The longer they can hold an a4 only exploit the better off they are.
