limera1n - ALL 4.1 devices jailbroken!

My wifes phone is now lime!! Had to test her's first lol. Viva la Geo!!

waiting..... waiting..... limera1n on the phone downloading cydia........ waiting......DONE!
 
Personally I wouldn't put anything this jackass develops onto my phone. It's going to be unstable and very buggy.
 
If this is going to be buggy I'm just going to wait for tomorrow and GP. I'm not desperate for a jailbreak tonight, I can wait until tomorrow.
 
Wow. I've been restoring my iPhone 4 to 4.1 today (been hanging at software for an hour... hope it passes), and was planning on re-jb-ing tomorrow, but today sounds a lot better ;).

Back to topic....
Cydia installed fine but havig some issues with updating packages. Not sure if this is a cydia deal or a limera1n deal. Prob a huge rush of people trying to hit the cydia server at one time. Keep on keeping on.

Edit.... Cydia is functioning great now, just did a reboot. Wifi isn't connecting but I'm going to try and flush the system..... Ok wifi connected now, cydia is still slow (but what's new?)

Upgrading with TinyUmbrella allows you to preserve your baseband. And since the 1.59.00 version baseband is the latest unlocked one (and there's no new exploit in sight) it's especially important to hold on to it. I'm on AT&T and I have no need for unlocking right now, but I always unlock my phone before I sell it in June. Easily adds $100 to the resell value. :)

Why are people so mad abut l1merain? After all, for 3gs owners like me, this is a blessing. I have the old bootroom but don't have my SHSH's saved, since I got it from 4.0+ on eBay. I couldn't afford to wait with words from the dev-team like "probably", "wait for some time" or "probably never for ever".. etc.......Whoever helps my case, gets my donations!

I don't think anyone is saying he owes us anything. Just reading these tweets is enough for even a previously uninformed person to realize what kind of character (lack of is more appropriate) he displays.

What? Greenpois0n was scheduled for release tomorrow. Geohot stole comex's userland jailbreak to make limera1n untethered.
Have fun using a jailbreak that's buggy because it isn't designed for your device.
 
I have an iPhone 4 factory unlocked.

Musclenerd just said to stay away from this if you want to keep your phone unlocked (im assuming he means for those who rely on ultrasn0w)

So, do i use limera1n or wait til tomorrow?

Ive got limera1n.exe here, so ill maybe just wait til tomorrow. :)

Comex has now gave it his blessing and musclenerd has said SHAtter will be held back now.

Oh, ok. Ive saved my baseband already but I thought the way he stated his intentions, that he was updating with TU... well, it just sounded like something diff.

If I were to try limera1n, bugs & all, theres no danger to the phone is there?
My personal data is secured off phone so if my iPhone went whacky I could just restore to original or from a backup & wait for GreenP's JB, right?:confused:

My 3GS is not supported on the dev-team's jailbreak. That's why I can only depend on limerain.
 
So it looks like the CDT are going to edit greenpois0n to use the limera1n expliot. The release may be delayed.

If the end result has us waiting a little longer but ensuring a bootrom exploid for next gen hardware, I'm ok with that.
 
MuscleNerd SHAtter will be held back now, so it's not the worst possible scenario. Who knows, maybe SHAtter can even be improved

I guess this has worked out alright, Shatter gets saved so only 1 bootrom expliot is used. I wish geohot didn't have to be such an ass about the whole thing though.
