Especially since Vista needs 4GB of RAM to run well.
OS X works better on two than Vista does on four.
my vista runs smooth on 2gb

No. Vista runs fine on 2GB of RAM, as does OS X. OS X may run slightly better with 2GB IMO, but it doesn't work "better on two than Vista does on four."Especially since Vista needs 4GB of RAM to run well.

what i was wondering was will the new Montevina platform would also be available on the regular Macbooks? in general i want to know if the regular macbooks are going to be updated along with the MBPs? thanks in advance for any help.
...it's possible they will not be. It's also possible that MBPs will see an update first and Macbooks at a later date.
They've never been updated together, so that's your best bet.
I am having a good feeling about this coming week that there will be a update, though were I too put money down the 29th is the date I am really waiting for![]()
I have been spending my Saturday night doing a little bit of research... (all my friends are on vacation... shut up) But anyway, i came up with a series of pictures and articles that i know all you avid readers are aching to see, or at least i am, because I'm one of those art fags who likes to look at the pretty pictures.

Not a Macbook Pro, but possible competitor to it within the next few years.

So a 9.5 mm HD doesn't cost more than a 12 mm HD with an equivalent capacity?Ram doesn't cost more in a thinner computer, nor does the cpu or harddrive, airport cards and bluetooth cards are already thin and small, gpu is fairly standard also. So mostly apple charging a premium for the thin design.
I can guarentee you RAM CPU and HDD don't cost more in a thin notebook and that is a lot of the cost.

. . . the first picture rocks several different houses. Heck, it rocks an entire small town.
I like the current macbook pro keyboard.... not the air's. The air's is good for paper thin size, but the other keyboard (silver and rounded soft keys) is better for comfort and looks better in my opinion. And in regards to blueray, it would be nice if Apple decided to incorporate the winner of the format player wars, but they could be going with their current downloadable HD content through iTunes rentals, so it's hard to tell what they will do in that area. I don't care if black is added or not because they resembles the MacBook and if you are going to pay a hefty amount more for the Pro, why not have it look different? Plus, I think that the silver looks more prestigious and ritzy. Maybe if they color schemed a MBP to look kind of like the new iMac (black and silver instead of just black) then I would get that. In the gpu area, they will have to definitely do something to 1. compete with Gateway since they are now including 8800's in their FX line of notebooks and 2. to support HD video well, which is kind of what they are doing now. I honestly didn't think that Apple would do a refresh of their notebooks until the release of the Snow Leopard operating-system, but maybe that will be an additional upgrade...
I'd say the highest chances of release are today and the 4th.
Keep your eyes on the store!
