Smartphones were already migrating to the touch screen before both the iPhone and Android phones came out, so don't be thinking they were unique to the iPhone.

Apart from they weren't called "smartphones" there was nothing with one button, they was no multi touch display - and the phones that had touch screen were truly truly horrendous and unusable. But yeah - apart from that the original iPhone didn't change anything

Good, Evolutionary not revolutionary

Questions, will my 2009 macbook pro be supported by Mavericks? (no is my feeling, as it was bottom of the pile for ML)
Is there enough in IOS to tempt me back from my big Samsung next time, (No does the same stuff in different ways, not as nice to use as IOS, but OK, I prefer the hackability and size of the screen)

This will keep there market share more stable rather than slide, the Clearer look to IOS i really like, but always found the messaging facetime and sharing of limited use because i don't know many people who have IOS devices.

What is Good is OSX, i think they have given it a good refresh at a time when again Microsoft are floundering with an unpopular Windows release. they lost the plot a little to much focus on mobile and touch screens, notice no mention of launchpad today!

Actually it is insecurity when you go to a competitor or fan site and say X sucks and mine is better.

That is the definition of insecurity.

Notice how Apple doesn't need to bash Samsung in commercials? They just show how their products work. Samsung has to bash Apple, Windows phone, etc in everything they do.

That again is the definition of insecurity.

As they said in GoT last night, if you have to remind everyone that you're the King....

How many of them own mac's? If they own mac's I do not see a problem, if they own nothing apple then they are troll's. Fair enough?

I agree with insecurity, but it's also insecure to accept no negative opinions.

That was the best Apple keynote in quite a few years in my opinion. This is the first time since prior to Steve Jobs death that I've felt good and confident about Apple. They really exceeded my expectations today. Some people will complain because they didn't get all the features they wanted or because they don't like change, but I personally think the products they showed today were all great and it showed me that Apple still have the ability to wow people. Great keynote.

Agreed. All the OS X improvements were extremely welcome, and iOS 7 looks really nice. At this point it's all about refinement and iOS 7 is as refined as you can get. The Mac Pro also looks incredible.

It actually might. Most of the Macs that didn't make the cut didn't have the clean 64bit EFI. That alone might allow to update into Mavericks and possibly beyond.

True, I hate these icons because I think they look cartoony.

Just taking a guess here that Apple didn't want something that looked to Windows 8. And maybe this is their of not making it look too cold/flat. Can't say whether I like or not until its on my phone.

Hahaha -

"iOS IS STALE AND BORING WE NEED CHANGE!!"

"ARGHH WE HATE CHANGE, WHY CHANGE FOR CHANGE SAKE WHEN IT ISN'T BROKEN!"

I expect, when iOS7 hits the mainstream upon realise, my Facebook newsfeed will be full of people moaning about it looking different and not understanding how to use it.

"Lipstick on the pig" is what iOS 7 got mostly is what we like to call in software.

That's fine with me, but you can expect Wall Street to react to that. Samsung's overtaking them in phone sales, and now Apple needs six more months. That's going to be a lot of lost revenue. Hopefully, they'll release an awesome phone and tablet in time for XMas.

If you haven't noticed, Samsung's stock price has also hit a wall lately. Wall Street is worried that the 10 million units sold was a flash in the pan.

Game-changers don't happen every day or even every year. I've said this time and time again, but before the next "game changing" phone or wearable device can be released, flexible displays and electronics need to be commercially viable. Samsung's CEO hinted that it could be 3 years before we'll see viable flexible displays (and not just gimmicks like the slanted edge on the S4).

But if it's focused exclusively on software, then why update only one notebook in the line, while also spilling the beans on the Mac Pro? Total lack of consistent messaging here.

It would have been far more sensible to update the entire product line of notebook computers at the same time, if indeed they want to have all units shipping with Haswell before September. I understand the Mac Pro announcement was to offer something to those consumers who have been patiently waiting for far too long, so that I can rationalize.

The way things currently sit, you have the MBA with updated processors, while the remaining notebooks now have antiquated hardware (from a market perspective). What reason does anyone have to purchase a MBP now? The way I see it, you're paying premium prices for outdated hardware, and they call this innovation?

Pa-lease.

Mac Pro lets them advertise their "Made in the USA" Mac. Also MacBook Air is their staple now. Apple has occasionally announced spec bumps at WWDC (last year they announced the new MacBook Air and rMBP), but two years ago they simply issued a press release on a Monday morning when the new MacBook Airs and Pros came out.

Perhaps the higher voltage Haswell chips aren't available in enough supply yet, but will be in a month or two. They won't stick with Ivy Bridge for another year. That's for certain.

Speaking of BMW, I don't like how BMW was conspicuously left off Apple's list of car manufacturers.

Yeah, my stream cut out at the end but I caught the graphic on one of the other Mac sites. What a slight, but possibly BMW added the feature after the graphic was made and Apple didn't have time to revise. I mean it would be to Apple's advantage to include them so I have to believe they would if logistics permitted. There has to be a reasonable backstory.

Assuming it does, I'm curious to see how accurately/quickly iCal updates your "travel time" suggestion based on your location. And does that carry over to the iOS version?

Agree, it is hard to imagine BMW not being on the list. They were the first manufacturer to offer true iPod integration, if I remember correctly.

Talk to an eye doctor.

And after, that, a real doctor. If you can't tell which app you are using, you may have bigger problems than just eye sight. :)

Maybe you can point out where I told you what you should find annoying? Is english your first language?

Talk about spin. You seem pretty damn insecure to me and it's the personal attacks, which are against the rules, that are annoying. People posting their opinions of the product is not

I've already explained why I'm annoyed. But I'll repeat it again since English doesnt appear to be your first language, either. It's not just people posting their opinions about the product. It's them bashing the product and saying another product is better or had a certain feature for years. As I mentioned already earlier, I switched from Android to iOS and have never once gone back to tell them why I think iOS is better. Clear? Or are you still confused?

So speaking in terms of what we've seen today, would it be unwise to buy a 15" rMBP this month? Will we be waiting for fall for them to update them? I don't think I have the patience to wait that long.

Yeh who knows might look better on the actual device. Not saying I liked the old icons either. Personally I think Windows 8 icons are great. I wouldn't have minded something similar to that.

How many of them own mac's? If they own mac's I do not see a problem, if they own nothing apple then they are troll's. Fair enough?

I agree with insecurity, but it's also insecure to accept no negative opinions.

Negative opinions from iOS/OSX owners are warranted.

Negative opinions from Android/trolls are not warranted.

I mean, I own X car...I don't go out to the competitors forums and bash their vehicles. If I did, I would be considered insecure.

the 10 million (as a current iphone fan and user) is more than a flash in the pan. I just called verizon and they told me they've actually gotten a FEW calls abotu people trying to get the galaxy s4 after watching and seeing what ios7 looks like.

Me personally, I wait for the phone, not the OS system, but havign the iphone 5, and knowing the iphone 6 is without a doubt NEXT year.. and seeing this lackluster ios 7 today.. I'm not really impressed, and can see more people going with galaxy, or dare I say.. the Z10.

Especially knowing NOW the similarities between the galaxy s4's interface look and ios 7.. people might just say "o'll get the "bigger better device" as Samsung so loosely calls it

Yes. It would be very unwise to buy a rMBP. You will probably be waiting till some event in July/August for the update.

I really can't imagine why apple spent so much effort trying to reduce the size of the mac pro...would have rather used those resources for more power.

also, it no longer looks like a computer, but rather, a trash can :(

"iOS IS STALE AND BORING WE NEED CHANGE!!"
I never said that. I liked how it was. Skeuomorphic and Natural.

"ARGHH WE HATE CHANGE, WHY CHANGE FOR CHANGE SAKE WHEN IT ISN'T BROKEN!"
I don't hate change. I'm fine with new and different, but this for me is also worse!

"Lipstick on the pig" is what iOS 7 got mostly is what we like to call in software.
Don't know about you, but I love the pig and it's new features. Just not the look of it. The new multitasking regime sounds great to me. iTunes Radio seems to be great as well. Control Center is all I wanted from this update. But there was one more thing.
