The shipping box next to it has the warning that this product contains lithium batteries? A Mac Studio doesn't have that, neither does the matching display if he had gone that route.

The Studio Box looks like it was graphically faked.
Looks real, you’re forgetting about CMOS batteries.

Upgraded built to order Macbook Pro speed in a compact box. Without battery, screen, keyboard, trackpad. $2,000 is what Apple deems its M1 Max speed computer is worth. The battery, screen, keyboard, trackpad make up the added $800 of the MacBook pro with a surcharge for the convenience of portability. Personally I don't think the M1 Max chip is and some added hardware to cool it is worth 1,200 more than the M1 Mac Mini. A CPU and a Heat sink should not cost $1,200 above the price of the M1 chip which is already factored into the cost of the $800 mac mini. This thing in any other world, is overpriced. But since Apple controls all the prices and what machines you can get them in, its actually cheaper than the alternatives Apple provides. And instead of paying the regular $500 fee to upgrade it to some decent spec, your pretty much left with paying $1,000 more for the speed bumped model. And I thought paying $500 to not have an anemic amount of ram and hard drive space on the mini was bad.
Willful ignorance, confirmation bias, bad at math, not technically inclined...?? I am trying to figure out where all of this wrong info is coming from.

They don't give you CPU, GPU, RAM, I/O upgrades for free.

I'll believe it when I see it unboxed.

That box does not look right, unless Apple changed their box design language.

EDIT: Wow, it very well could be a real box. Per Apple's environmental report, the design matches: https://www.apple.com/environment/pdf/products/desktops/Mac_Studio_PER_March2022.pdf
Impressive. The first "fake box" post didn't take long.
The caution explosive battery shipping label sure looks legit.

The handle reminds me of the Nike Sport Loop Strap for Apple Watch.

I am amazed that whenever a new Apple product comes out, there is some "lucky" person who get the item ahead of schedule...someone who is willing to post pictures online.

Exactly. It's not just the price Foxconn submits for components in a device bidding project, plus an arbitrary markup Apple pulls from their behind that you pay for in the end. People seem to forget that R&D also plays its role in pricing strategies, as well as marketing, industrial design for everything related to the final product, customs, international taxes and operations, a lot of shipping charges for materials you wouldn't even imagine are involved in the final product, listings and approvals costs from technical watchdogs from around the globe, and yes, even post-sale services, software updates, etc.

Really? Ever seen a Facebook page? Average Joe or Jill will post photos of being the first to buy a slurpy at a new 7/11 opening... or the first tree or rock they see off of a tour bus... or their new shoes... or baby's first belch, etc.

Obviously a person buying a pricey Mac is going to be excited about it. It seems pretty plausible they would do some research first, discover sites like this one, discover how excited Apple crowds are with "firsts" (even if it's in only a first post in a thread) and then in getting to actually be first of a meaningful thing- several days early- post some pics to show off their new toy.

Congrats to them for their 15 minutes of tech fame.

Meanwhile, as soon as they fire it up, it will call the mothership. Apple will know EXACTLY which store made this mistake and some poor employee or two are possibly going to lose their jobs in the morning.

I'm annoyed. I ordered within 5 minutes of the store opening and mine is supposedly going to arrive in April. ???
I ordered Mac Studio Ultra just as the store reopened and the website says that they are preparing to ship and it is due between 3/18 adn 3/22. Hopefully it will arrive soon. My 2012 MacPro is getting a little long in the tooth and I am looking forward to getting my first new Mac in 10 years.

Definitely real.

Apple might get these taken down.
