Mine also shows 64 bit kernel and extensions as "NO" Tried the "4" and "6" on booting and it didn't work, then tried editing the file you mentioned and osx wont let me save it. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

You didn't say what kind of Mac you had. And to try to force it to boot into the 64-bit kernel after it wouldn't boot into it using the 6+4 keys is unadvisable.

If the 64-bit kernel won't load after holding down the 6+4 keys on boot your system is not compatible with the 64-bit kernel.

FedEx delivered mine around 8:30am. I've installed it on my 2nd gen MacBook Air - so far, so good, for the most part. I'm going to have to recalibrate my screen, though, since when I load my calibrated profile it looks a bit off now.

When I went to install SL, it told me my disk needed to be repaired - so I had to use the "remote install" utility on another machine. That process is a bit less Apple-ish than usual, but it did work fine as long as I followed the steps to the letter. :D

I got the family pack; but I'll probably give this a few days before I upgrade the rest of our computers just to make sure there are no showstopper bugs.

Oh, and I gained about 15 free gigabytes! Pretty handy given it's only a 128GB SSD.

I pre-ordered mine the day they announced and it arrived via FedEx @ 1:33 PM. Perhaps those who ordered first got theirs, while those who pre-ordered yesterday or Wednesday will wait another day.

BTW, I got another copy at Best Buy this morning. I got two, as if one isn't enough.

Ordered (and paid) mine a day or two after the announcement, if I ordered it this week I wouldn't expect it to arrive today .... for me having one shipped (the fedex truck comes by once a day) is far more green than driving 40 miles to a store. The simple thing to do would be to kill the order, (it hasn't shipped so that's easy) and issue a code or other mechanism so I could pick it up if I wanted. Yes, I could go buy it and then return the other copy, but then I'm financing their mistake. It's really just a poor customer service choice on Apple's part. Pre-ordering types are normally your core supporters...that's the last group you screw over.

Mine arrived, and installing now. Just updating over my regular Leopard install. We'll see how it goes as this is my first Mac upgrade since going Mac over a year ago.

kinda lame. i get sucked into preordering and everyone else gets to enjoi it before me.. they should have shipped it earlier to match the dates up.. way to b an ass apple

Installing now on my 2008 MBP. Telling me it will take about an hour, not 15 minutes like all the reviews yesterday said.

Hey Let me know how it went and what visible changes you can tell us.

I have the same model of macbookpro...its a 2.6. CPU.

Thanks in advance.

Installed without a hitch here. Safari seems snapper! No, seriously. Everything does, actually...

If flip4mac doesn't work, then I don't think I can upgrade since I watch a lot of win media videos. Can you still run the old quicktime?

Haven't read the whole thread, so sorry if duplicated, but see this page http://www.telestream.net/flip4mac-wmv/overview.htm - there is a beta version for snow leopard for download. Haven't tested it as I don't presently have a mac.

Depending on what it is you want to play, VLC will handle some WMV I believe too

Gotta love the buying experience... pick up box and hand to sales dude. Scan, swipe card, walk out. Receipt arrives in e-mail before I'm out the door.

i wish apple would get my email right.. i have shopped there 3 times and i have never received my receipt in my email.. i will double check what they wrote so i know its right, they just never get sent or something..

I ordered mine the day it showed up on the Apple homepage last week and got mine this morning at 11am. It was shipped yesterday to match the dates up, sorry you didn't get yours today.

64-Bit Bootcamp - Those of us who used MacPro drivers

I had to use the MacPro x64 drivers on my alu iMac to install vista x64, since the all mighty apple said: "No x64 for you!". Almost like the sluice of people who aren't getting their SL copy today.

What's the story with bootcamp 3.0? Will I have to go through the same roundabout way to support x64?

I went to my campus computer store and they said they didn't yet get any copies and wouldn't till next week. I checked Best Buy and it lists it as in-stock at my local store, but also that is a pre-order and won't be released until September. Weird. I guess I'll wait for a bit.

Count me among the annoyed. I ordered it literally the MINUTE the Apple Store came back online on Monday and according to my tracking info... it was only just scanned in Toronto this morning. There's no way it'll arrive today (half way across the Country). The only reason I pre-ordered was so that it would be on my doorstep on Friday. That has been the case in the past. If I had known... I wouldn't have bothered. I would have just swung by the Best Buy or Future Shop on the way home from work :-( I'm tempted to do that anyway but don't feel like paying twice.

The new Quicklook by hovering mouse over icon isn't working for me.. nothing happens...

yeah i ordered mine about 3 weeks ago from apple.com.. go figure

I'm surprised nobody has listed the build number after all the fuss, just to be sure ;)

Also, anybody notice the crappy gradient in safari (possibly other programs) at the top??? Nice!

Post #35 up above yours already confirmed the 432 number and the checksum...

Got It Today, Mac Box Set, SMOOOOOTH Install. Everything looks and feels good so far. Took about 1 hour for all OSX, iLife9, iWork9.
Firefox seems a little slower, HHMM, could be Hughes.net, probably lots of traffic today with all the updates going on. Kodak printer not on supported list but all is working fine.

New OSX names screen shots differently, was Picture(x), now Screen Shot(yyyy,mm,dd at HH.MM.SS PM).JPG, I like that.
