MacBook Air M2 Pre-order?

Any tips for the pre-order process, to get my order placed quickly?

Someone told me they had better luck ordering thru the iPhone app rather than the website. Any tips like that? Will they go on sale exactly at 5:00am Pacific Time, or does it sometimes go live a few minutes early?

if you don't make the purchase within 2 minutes of its availability, your head will explode & your body will dissolve into dust (oh wait; that's a video game consequence).

i'm gonna wait. i want to see benchmarks (the M1 air vs the M2 air; reports on the alleged 'SSD issue'), and i want to hear real reports on the midnight air and the fingerprint thing...

but still 99% sure i'm going for the new air. no matter what, it's a huge upgrade from my 2016 macbook 👍

Usually I'd wait, too. But I need to have the computer in-hand before the start of school at the end of August.

EDIT: actually, you've got me thinking. no matter what, the new air is a huge upgrade for me, so will order it as soon as it's out. fun stuff!

Does anyone have experience with Mac preorders on Amazon? I saw they were doing them for the M2 MBP when that launched, but wasn't following close enough to know if they put them live at the Apple.com time or lag afterwards. Can you expect launch-day delivery?

1TB/2TB drives seemed to push the dates to Aug. Viewed 16GB models w/ both 512GB and 1TB, and 512GB was available on launch while 1TB was always Aug 2-9. FWIW. Not that it matters now lol
